Chapter 42: Chapter 42
I've seen the tiger before...at the zoo. Carl, he must be the one doing this. I turn to him.
"Please don't hurt him. He didn't do anything."
"You know nothing, Rayne. They are dangerous." He tells me, glancing at me before he places his focus back on the tiger and Nicklaus. I can not bring myself to watch.
"What are you?" I feel all fury at him. What's his problem about whoever I kiss? I own myself. I tell myself what to do. "Nicklaus has told me what he is. It's about the story, right? Yeah, I know it's true. I know you are a Wildlings. I know you have the bad part in you as well. I know your generation has killed a lot of Vampire hybrids. Does that mean Justice? No! You killed anyway! You and them are no different. You are all killers of humans. You are all abominations!"
Finishing yelling at the top of my lungs, I begin to regret my actions. I just all what Nicklaus has told me against him and my friend, Carl. Even if he's misbehaved, he still doesn't deserve this much.
The pain, flashing across his face do me nothing, but more regrets. I want to tell him I'm sorry, but my level of angry deprives me of such act.
"I...I'm sorry. I'm not a...killer. We are not a killer." His eyes roll around, then on me.
"I didn't mean it. Please, it's just...I was only angry." I try to convince him, but he's not buying it.
The whimpers from the tiger calls back my attention to Nicklaus. He's there, not harmed, not even near the tiger. However, the tiger seems to be in pain, shaking on the ground.
"I'm just giving it an antidote. A compelling to make it think he's dying again, and again, and all over again." He chuckles to himself. His eyes is different, mixture of red, burning eyes like scarlet in his creamy yellow eyes. I think part of his monster has been unleashed, pushed to be mixed with his bending abilities. That's even if I'm making a sense.
For the first time in my history of ever knowing Carl, I see his eyes glow, managing to overpower Nicklaus'. Once done, he sends the tiger away with a "leave, Sammy." and he's gone, running into the woods.
