Chapter 29 (B)

Still, Maxine's POV

THE days passed quickly. I'll be done with Luke in a week. I will admit, the last few days I have been with him I have become even closer to him. I did everything I could to stop that feeling from growing but I failed. And now I'm scared .. scared that I don't know what for.

"You're beautiful, Son ..." Mom praised while looking at me in the mirror. I just smiled. suits me wearing a hawaiian dress that cuts the chest part. I bought it at ukay-ukay yesterday.

We heard a car horn from outside.

"There you go." again Mom said combing my loose hair.

I stood up and kissed Mom.

“Don't stay up too late, hah. Please tell Hevo how I feel. ”

“All right,‘ Mom. ”

From the quarter’s maid Mom led me to the outside of the gate where my pick -up, Lucas, was waiting. it was chic in the lilac hawaiian polo shirt that was just left open to be seen wearing the white shirt. It also has white shorts and white rubber shoes.

“You’re beautiful ..” Lucas commented.

"T-thank you." I had some response and stood on the motor.

"Be careful driving Ijo, hah."

"Yes aunt."

AS Lucas was running fast, we arrived at Hevo's house. Today is her twenty -first birthday, Hawaiian party is the theme and is exclusively for COM students.

According to Meghan, Hevo was supposed to celebrate in L.A. but she asked to stay for three days before her parents left. It wants to celebrate here first before following up in L.A.

at the very beginning you can see the special inflatable palm trees, the buffet is located not far next to the mini stage. there was a band playing but because of the many students dancing in the middle I couldn't see what was on the stage, on the side of it at the bottom were large audio boxes so my eardrums seemed to explode because of the volume. There are also bathers in the pool.

“Hello! Why are you alone now? ” smiling as Meghan greeted us, she spoke a little louder because of the loud music. It kissed me. "Lucas, I'll borrow it from my friend first, hah."

Even before Lucas could answer Meghan pulled me over. he took me to the assembled students and huddled there. And on a large stage I saw Hevo while enjoying playing with a band. It's funny, he has a talent for drumming.

"Let's give the celebrant a round of applause." said the band's vocalist after the ringing.

“Thank you guys for coming here. I really appreciate your visit. Please enjoy the night and have fun. ” Hevo smiled into the microphone. its cute look in black shirt and hawaiian shorts. His eyes accidentally moved in Meghan and me's direction, and that's how he smiled before speaking again. "Oh, I would like to acknowledge the presence of an especial someone down there .. Maxine Filmore."

I feel all eyes focused on me. Awkward

“Can you come up here?”

I had to stare at Meghan.

"The truth is .. He's the reason why I'm celebrating a birthday here for the first time .." he laughed even more which made me miss him even more.

"Give it to me, birthday boy, eh."

"B-but because ..." I looked around and looked for Lucas but I was disappointed. Where does that go?

Meghan pushed me up on stage. Hevo greeted me and supported me. Then there was a round of applause.

"I'm glad you came." its kind language. it no longer has a microphone.

"H-happy birthday, Mom says."

"It's just your mom?"

"Me too of course." I smiled at its awkwardness.

Suddenly all the lights went out except for a few faint ones that were turned on. At the same time was airing a simultaneous singing of greeting. two of Hevo's male classmates climbed the stage bit by bit with the size of a cake.

"Make a wish, bro." said one of the two.

Hevo looked at me and smiled before blowing the cake.

Once again there was a round of applause. The band also played a popular song again. Hevo turned to me and held out his hand. I looked over there.

"Will you be my first and last dance tonight?"

I can't answer right away. I looked down again .. but I couldn't see Lucas.

"Please .. even now you can pay attention to me first .."

I turned my gaze back to Hevo. And I feel guilty at the sudden sadness in its eyes.

"Sure ..." I whispered in a low voice. I deliberately raised my hands and wrapped them around Hevo's neck starting to accompany the translation of the melody.

I am yours, you are mine.

“Thank you for this wonderful gift. This is the happiest birthday I have ever celebrated. ”

I am alone now.

Author’s POV

LUKE's eyes were hot as he turned his gaze in the other direction. He chose to sit in a corner so that he would not be disturbed by the loud music. He doesn't like noise. but he seemed to want to repent because he let Maxine get away from him. Seeing him smile while Hevo was dancing caused him a strange pain. He wanted to get lost and pull Maxine away from Hevo but couldn't. he’s not in his territory so he doesn’t want to make a scene.

"Hi ..!" bit by bit a goblet of wine Beatriz greeted Lucas. It sat next to the young man. "Are you alone?"

Luke did not speak, nor did it pay attention to the presence of the newcomer. the latter seemed embarrassed to focus only on the stage.

"That flirty b*tch ..!" its weak drone and swallowed the wine it was carrying.

Beatriz stood up. But the girl was only a few steps away when Lucas suddenly stood up and crossed her arm.

"Awww, lemme go!"

“And where do you think you’re goin’? ”

"I'm going to teach a lesson to that flirtation!"

"Try to touch Maxine again and I'll forget you're a woman ..!" said the young man in a hard tone, tightening his grip on Beatriz's arm even more.

"What are you going to do, you're going to hurt me?" the maiden struggled.

"You just gave me an idea."

“It hurts. Aww --- lemme go ..! ”

Only then did Luke let the girl go when she seemed to be crying with pain.

"You're crazy, eh ..!" Beatriz shouted angrily while holding the injured arm. “Bring that mutsang-tsang! mga ba ---. ”

A loud crash was heard before shouting. Lucas' eyes widened as he looked behind Beatriz and quickly avoided the monster that rushed in their direction. With the force of Lucas' conversion to Beatriz, they fell to the ground.

"Run ..!" Lucas shouted at Beatriz when he saw that the monster was about to start again, the latter was afraid to follow.

Lucas looked in Maxine's direction in shock but it was no longer there except for a few students who ran and another monster that destroyed the place, the front of the house collapsed. Luke turned his eyes back to the approaching monster. he is the object of them. At the same time as Luke stood up the monster also attacked, but to the young man's surprise it was blocked by someone.

"Go and save her!" cry of the creature that saved Luke.

Lucas's POV

"GO and save her!"

It was only then that I woke up in shock. he was that guy, named Noa. He must be the lead warrior.

I suddenly went to where Maxine was awhile ago. I was devastated to see lifeless bodies around. I have scanned the area but I see no menace of her. Damn! Where did she go? a hard object hit my back, I slammed into large audio boxes and ran into them. I got busy, I lost sight of another monster. Confused, I pushed the added boxes one by one. Even before I could finally get up, the monster rushed again. I quickly picked up a hard object and shoved it. Because of its monster form it is much stronger than me. I was stepped-back slowly until my back hit something hard. I was trapped. I endured the pain and warmth of my hands, they seemed to burn and so did the monster. Based on my body's reaction, the microphone stand I held was made of alloy.

The monster pushed my stand even harder and slowly lifted me up. I can't breathe because of that strangulation.

The male pack growled at me, showing his large canines as if he wants to devour half of my body. I hit him several times but seemed he was not injured. I gave him another stroke, pointing his left eye. It released the left eye. with the rest of my strength I hit it with the stand I was holding. Due to the round base part of the stand and force of impact the monster collapsed. I hit it again until its face was destroyed.

“Enough. They are coming. ”I was restrained by whose hands. Not Noah. then I only understood it because of the serena echo from outside.

I let go of the handle and looked around. Another monster was also lifeless. I tried to enter the house but Noah stopped me again.

"This way ..." he pointed at the back of the house.

"I need to find her!"

“She’s fine! I saw her with that guy running across outward. Come on! ”

I seemed to be bitten by a thorn in what I heard. Then he is safe. I want to see him but for now I have to follow Noah first.
