Chapter 107: Chapter 107
I am not sure how to interact with Agustine. I'm aware that he is in my office. I observed him enter the building after the fiancée and her daughter had left.
I first asked Mom to take the children to a neighboring park. I want them to take a brief breath. I am aware that seeing Agustine with his family a second time saddens them. I don't want to put this off any longer, though. I'll speak with him, us alone.
I inhaled deeply a few times before quietly opened my office door. He was waiting for me in the visitor's chair, as I had anticipated. Our eyes locked right away.
On normal days, I can greet him even as a business partner. Now I can't even do that. Yes, it's not his fault that my children caught up with them. But I can't help but feel bad.
"Good morning, Ms. Dagsinal," he greeted.
I remained silent. I simply went to my seat and sat down without showing any emotion. He raised an eyebrow at what I did. I was afraid he would condemn that, but he didn't, which is lucky for me because I don't know what might have said.
"I already prepared the contract. The only thing missing is your signature," he said and placed a folder in front of me.
I immediately took it and opened it. I went through the contents without saying a word. When I finished, I took the sign pen and signed what I had to sign.
"Just give my secretary your bank details so I can send the money," I said coldly.
I gave him his copy and put mine aside. I could feel his stare but I ignored it.
"Is there a problem, Khrystal?" he couldn't stop asking.
It's like a trigger for me. My twin's sad eyes came back to my mind. My heart seemed to be stabbed by millions of needles that almost brought tears to my side. I firmly held the sign pen then slowly raised my eyes to him.
"Could you please stop meeting in front of our company, Mr. Revelar?" I blurted out.
He raised an eyebrow. "What?" he asked confused.
"You, your fiancee, and your kid. Stop meeting in front of our company," I clarified in a firm tone.
He quickly frowned. "My what?"
I closed my eyes tightly in annoyance. Frustration and anger consumed me. I wanted to explode but I still need to talk to him because of the kids.
I sighed deeply and stared at him again. "You heard me, Agustine. Do you want me to translate it to you in Tagalog just so you could understand better? Or do you really just want to act stupid in front of me?"
"Look, Khrystal. I don't know what you are talking about—"
"Enough, Agustine! Just please! Be honest even now. I don't know what your plan is but please, just please! Don't make me feel bad for taking revenge on my family. I have already paid you back a long time ago. you've hooked me, you've hurt me, you've broke me. Isn't that enough?!"
His eyes went dark.
"You can meet your future wife and child somewhere else. You can drop them off at the mall, restaurant, or any other place. Just not here in front of my company!"
I could not stop myself anymore. I can feel my cheeks getting wet because of the tears falling there one after another.
"Who are you talking about?" he asked emotionlessly.
I laughed out loud. "Seriously, Agustine? Do you really want a name drop? I am talking about your fiancee, Lhea, and your kid with her!"
His jaw tightened. "They are not my family. I am not married to her," he said firmly.
I laughed emptyly. "That's enough, please," I almost cried with my last words. "Stop hurting me. I'm crushed, Agustine. I am not the one who did you wrong, but why are you punishing me like this?"
"I said they are not my family," he repeated and rose up from his seat.
He walked towards me and grabbed my arm. Even though the restraint was there, I could still feel the caution in his hand. He stood me up, we were facing each other.
Although his jaw was serious and tense, he wiped my tears without taking his eyes off my eyes.
"She is not my fiancee. The one you saw is not my daughter either," he said again in a calm manner.
I faked a smile. I shook his hand and then looked at him evilly.
"She's not your fiancee? That's why she came here with your Mom to personally invite me to your engagement party? The child isn't your daughter, so that's why she's with you so often?" I laughed sarcastically. "Believable, Agustine."
He frowned again. I saw anger in his eyes but I was sure it wasn't for me. Later, he let out a sigh.
"There will be no engagement party. If there is one it won't be the two of us, Khrystal."
"Enough with your lies, Agustine. Your fiancée is even hiring me as an architect. And guess what? She's bragging about keeping all your money."
He licked his lower lip. "You did not watch my interview back then, right?" his bitter manner.
I did not answer right away. Besides I don't know why he's bringing it back, I also don't know what connection it has with what we're talking about now.
This time, he's the one who laughed emptyly and looked at me with his pained expression.
"Tell me, Khrystal. How can I be his fiance if I'm already married to you?"
I felt like my breathing stopped for a moment. I was deaf and couldn't move immediately.
"Yes, Khrystal. You heard it right. I am married to you," he emphasized the last sentence.
"Y-You are lying. We never got married, Agustine."
He smirked along with his dark stares. "That's because you were unaware that I created a marriage certificate using the blank piece of paper that you signed years ago."
I was stunned. I was trying to process in my brain what he said at the same time as I remembered the two papers I had signed before. I swallowed unconciously.
"You want a proof that I am telling the truth that she is not my fiancee? And she will never be? Then, let's meet the Vista Querencia's mayor," he seriously challenged me.
I could do nothing but shook my head. My head started to hurt from what I knew. If everything is not true. . . if we were married before. . . why did that girl come to me?
My knees began to ache with weakness as an idea entered my mind. I immediately felt Agustine's hand wrap around my waist before I completely lost my balance.
My kids suffering. . .
My tears automatically streamed down to my cheeks.
Oh shit.
"Yes. I was trying to avenge using your family. But I stopped midway because I fell in love with you, Khrystal."
I repeatedly shook my head and slowly raised my eyes to him. Even though my vision was blurry because of my tears, I tried to see him.
I swallowed the lump in my throat. "W-we . . . have ki—" my words were cut off when my secretary suddenly went inside my office.
She was pale and sweaty with fear.
"M-Ms. Dagsinal. Your mom called you a while ago. She said your son G-Gio . . . had an accident."
