Chapter 103: Chapter 103
I don't know how many minutes I was in my office. Hiring me as the architect of the house, being invited to the engagement party, strange looks from Agustine's mother—all of that is a puzzle to me.
They are not terribly ill, right?
In the end I let out a sigh and then put my things away. I intend to go to the old apartment I lived in; I hope that the owner will sell it to me. If my plan doesn't work out, I have no other choice but to find a condo unit for us.
I hope it's available.
After finishing the arrangement, I said goodbye to my secretary and left some instructions before finally leaving. A few minutes later, I got into the car and was about to put on my seatbelt when I was surprised when the car door opened. It's like deja vu. Agustine deposited himself on the passenger seat as he closed the door.
"Let me have a ride again," he said (in hard Tagalog).
I don't know whether to smile or be annoyed. I blinked twice before emphatically pointing to the outside of the car. Coldly.
"Leave, Mr. Revelar. My car is not a taxi and I'm certainly not your driver." I glared at him.
He clicked his tongue and looked at me, amused. "Seems like you're not in the mood, huh?"
"I said get out, I don't need your comment," I said angrily.
Who will be in a better mood if after your fiancee, I'll see you? What, unlucky day?
He raised an eyebrow. "Such a heartless, Ms. Dagsinal. It's like we did not had a thing before." A smirk followed his statement.
"Excuse me?" I couldn't believe it.
He licked his lower lip and stared at me, then his side lip slowly curled into a smile. "Are you bothered by my presence?"
"Let me correct, Mr. Revelar. I am annoyed," I said firmly.
What is he doing here?
Now that I am not looking for him, he would appear. What a life.
"Why?" he asked innocently and leaned against the seat.
I couldn't help raising an eyebrow at his question.
He shrugged his shoulders. "I did not do anything to piss you off."
"Ahuh? You did not inform me, you've become more insensitive now," I did say to myself, it was too late to slow down or take it back.
He did not talk. We looked at each other, both not giving up. Later, I noticed his eyes moving around to my face until he voluntarily avoided and then straightened his sit. He crossed his arms and closed his eyes.
"I won't bother you. Just let me come," he said in a low tone voice.
I swallowed hard and couldn't help but stare at his gentle face. Once again, the thought of telling him about my child's existence came into my mind. Suddenly, I was in two decisions: whether I should continue to send him away or let us have a connection so that I can tell him about the children.
I took a deep breath and chose the latter. Without saying a word I started the car and drove away. I peeked at him from time to time but he kept his eyes closed and did not move. Only then did I notice his tired look.
Tired, but still got energy to piss me off. Thank you! Oh, damn, note the sarcasm.
I just shook my head and focused on the road.
"What are you doing here?"
I don't know how many minutes I drove earlier. I had just turned off the engine when Agustine spoke from his seat. Frowning, he stared at me—waiting for an answer—before turning his attention to the house on our side.
I rolled my eyes. "Don't stick your nose into my business, Mr. Revelar."
His brows furrowed. Obviously he did not like what I said. But even so, the amazement on his face did not disappear.
I don't care anymore if I don't treat him well. I also think that I don't need to do act differently in front of him. Professionalism, my ass.
Psh!
I unbuckled my seatbelt and opened the car door. I went out before him. I felt him follow but I didn't look back at him, instead I focused on the house. I couldn't help but be amazed because it was renovated. The simple apartment I used to live in is now a big bungalow house.
The design is beautiful; modern. It looks like there are three to four rooms in the whole house. I just sighed as I watched because it seemed impossible for me to buy the property.
"Do you need a house?" Agustine interrupted my thoughts.
"You said you would not bother me, Mr. Revelar," I said without looking at him and walked slightly to see another angle of the house.
I felt him followed. "I can help you if you want this property."
There I completely stopped and gently faced him. He stood straight as his hand was pocketed in his pants. He licked his bottom lip softly before looking at the house in front of us.
For a moment, I was able to scan his entirety. A few years have passed but only his body has changed. His aura was still the same; the power, coldness, and boldness were there.
"I know the owner of this house," he added and stared back at me.
I was stunned for a moment when I noticed how gently he spoke to me. I couldn't help but look away and secretly swallowed.
"Looks like the house isn't for sale," was all I said and distanced myself a little.
"Do you want it?" he asked, sternly looking at me.
I couldn't hold his gaze for long because apart from the fact that it seemed to be analyzing, I was also careful that the conversation between the two of us would end up asking for the reason. Funny because he's not asking it verbally, but I could guess it by the way he stared at me.
I tried to shrug; acting like the house was really not a big deal. "Yeah. It's a beautiful house, who wouldn't want it?"
Agustine did not speak. He slowly passed me and headed inside the yard. My eyes widened and quickly chased after him to stop him by the arm.
"What the fvck are you doing? You are trespassing!" I blurted out and tried to pull him out of the property, but he did not even move.
There was a ghost smile on his lips as he stared at my hand holding onto his arm. Gradually, he tilted his head and met my eyes.
"Easy, sweetie. It is my house," he stated.
I freezed from where I was standing as my lips parted. I don't know which of his words to focus on. Is it the fact that he called me his old endearment or the fact that it was his house that I was planning to buy.
I couldn't help it even more when I felt Agustine take my hand and then put it on his. He slowly strokes his thumb on my skin as he stares at it with awe.
Agustine glanced at me. "So, do you want me to tour you around? Let's talk about the price you can offer." His side lip slowly curled up. "As you know, this property is not for sale. But if it is you, sure, why not, Khrystal?"
Oh, damn freakin' destiny.
