Chapter 117: Chapter 117
“So tell me… we haven’t met in millennia” Cara chuckles. “What do you do after college Maia?” She ends. “I’ve traveled with my ex hukkk…” I clear my throat tensely. “Ex-girlfriend…” I whoosh my breath as I look at her. Cara stares at me with a raised brow, I guess she gets more surprised because she found out that I am not straight like she thought. “Wow!” She’s whooshing her breath in surprise. “My ex-girlfriend who ran an illegal shit and now… I found herself is in here too!” I end.
“Wow, that’s surprising Maia!” Cara shook her head and chuckles. “I didn’t expect that you can get involved in that kind of thing” She ends. “I mean… yes, I helped her! But I cut myself and leave... Now I’m lamenting myself for leaving her for the rest of my life!” I chuckle but my heart feels stuffy. “So, you still love her?” Cara asks. “I guess” I sigh and I’m making a pouty face. “What a lucky girl!” Cara exclaims and chuckles.
“Let me tell you a story, Cara…” I chuckle as I look at her. “If I were in heaven and God asked me to eat the forbidden fruit so I can be with her who stayed in hell forever, I would definitely eat that fruit without a second thought so I can be with her. That’s not because I love that fruit badly! That’s because I love her and I want to be with her no matter where she is, so I don’t have to suffer by myself because I didn’t have her with me” I end.
“That’s… unbelievable!” Cara chuckles. “I think you should write a fiction book and sell it” She ends. “Ughhh come on!” I groan annoyingly. “Hehe right!” She chuckles. “Okay, umm can you tell me her appearance so I can watch her for you” She ends. “What?! Seriously?” I squeak. “Gosh! Thank you so much Cara ughh!” I groan, my face point to the sky. “Her name is Aleena. I heard she worked at the library, I don’t know what her job is but she’s picking up the books every 11 AM” I respond.
“Oh, I forgot! I have to meet my counselor and ask for his signature so I can start my job as soon as possible” I sigh, how do I forget this. “Well, it’s time for me to back to work then. We’ve sat for almost half an hour” Cara chuckles and we up from the ground. “It’s really nice to see you, Cara. And thanks for today” I hug her and smile. “Hehehe it’s good to see you Maia” She responds as she caressing my back.
Cara and I have been losing contact for millennia, I saw her at college at the last graduation party a couple of years ago. I off and make my way to my counselor’s office, it’s my first time meeting him in person. “Knock knock knock” I knock on the door gently and get into the room quietly. “Excuse me sir…” I get into the room. He hangs his hand and ordered me to sit. “Thank you!” I place my ass to the seat and sit.
I look around the place nervously, I saw a name tag on the table and his name is Mr. Russo. “I never saw you before…” He starts. “What makes you came to my office?” He asks. “I’m here for this...” I place the paper on his desk. “Oh, okay” He takes the paper and reads it. “Maia?” He gives me a look. “Yes?” I respond. “You’re Maia, right? Oh, I remember! Your dad called me. Ah, how do I forgot?!” He chuckles and he places the paper back on his desk.
“Umm did they tell you that we pay you 10 cents for an hour?” He asks. “W-what?! 50cents? I thought that was 50 bucks for an hour?” I surprise. “It’s a prison, not a free world, honey!” He responds. “So, do you take the job or?” He asks. “Ah, I’ll take the job, all good” I quickly answer him trying to convince him so I can get the job. He shook his head and signed the paper “Here you are…” He gives me the paper and I take it. “Thank you, Mr. Russo!” I smile as I look at the paper.
“You’re welcome!” He responds. I up from my seat and get ready to go but before that Mr. Russo called me. “Hey, Maia! Tell your father thanks for the tips, it helped me a lot!” He smiles as he looks at me. I turn my face and smile at him then I leave his room after. My dad is not playing around, he rented a private room for me and gave the officer tips so I can live peacefully here. It’s pretty not fair for the other prisoners but what can I do.
They were sleeping together in one cube with only a 10 cm solid bunk and my Lena is one of them. I can’t imagine how hard she closes her eyes at night. Lena does not even sleep on our short trip in Mumbai. Dmitri was not booking the right place for us to stay, so Lena and I forced to stay in a three stars hotel near us and that’s fucked up. “Why are you making that face?” I chuckle to myself, the flashback just out inside my brain again.
“This bed is hurting my back, I felt like I sleep on the iron mat! Ugh!” Lena groaned. “Hahaha okay… I knew this bed is uncomfortable” I laughed softly as I pointed my gaze to Lena who leaned next to me that day. “But I’m actually feeling pretty good today because I finally can be here with you…” I hummed with smiles on my magenta cheeks. “Okay, now you should come here and kiss me until we are out of breath” I chuckled.
Lena giggled and she opened her arms for me so I can hug her. “Ughhh” I groaned as I ran myself closer to her and hugged her comfortably. “Your smile really makes my day…” Lena said as she caressed my back underneath my shirt. “Your happiness, I live for that!” I chuckled as I looked at her. Lena smiled as she looked at me and vice versa, I ran my face closer to her and kissed her with love between the kisses.
I close my eyes and feeling those soft delicious lips on me, I can feel those lips wrapped against mine as I close my eyes. “Oh, Jeez!” I mumble as I realize that my prison room is opened. As I remember I've already shut the door and locked it, but why it’s open now. I run full speed to my room and I see two guards placing a new bed next to my bed. “W… what’s going on here!?” I ask as I get into my room in dismay.
“Why you added more beds in my room? I paid this room for myself?” I ask politely. “Hello?” I bark. “Not anymore, inmate!” He replies and he also barks at me. “What the hell!” I mumble and make my way out of my room. I’m looking around the place and I see all the A block’s prisoners are out of their room and barking, they’re wondering what happened to their private room. I think the A block is a private room not for sharing, but what happened now.
“What happened?”
“Why they add more beds!”
“Can somebody tell us why this happens?”
All of the peoples asking and barking around the spot, no one gives us an explanation why it happens. I’m good if I had a prison roommate, I don’t mind it. But I had already paid for this room, monthly and it paid off. If it happens to the A block, means this block is same as the B block. But the B block shared and paid for the room together, and the A not. “Attention the A prisoners!” The head guard just talked through the speaker.
“We’re sorry for not giving you explanations about these things. And let us explain everything now…” The guard starts on speaker. “We transferred all the C and D block’s prisoners to the A block for a while because the C and D block is under construction now, so please understands the situation and keep calm! Please share the room with pleasure because sharing is caring!” The officer ends. “What?” “Oh, Gosh!” “Hell no!” “Damn!” All the A block prisoners surprises and groans.
The guards just off from my room and I quickly get into my room with a pouty face and checking on my room. “Shit!” I mumble as I look around the prison room. It has two beds now, the bed is only three feet from my bed and the guards just moved my drawer at the end of my bed. “Fuck can they do a better job instead of placing things like this!” I groan as I move my drawer back next to my bunk. “Ughhh” I groan as I lose my breath, this drawer is pretty heft.
“Hey… got a problem?” Cara stands in front of my room. “Did you following me? Why are you here!” I surprise and I quickly walk towards her. “Whoo-hoo it’s my job, Maia! I don’t need permission to come into the prisoner’s room” She chuckles. “Well great!” I scoff as I look outside. “Hey! Do you have any idea about the C and D block thing? I mean… do they spot really under construction? I think there’s a strange thing just happened in here!” I whisper.
Cara gets closer to me and replies “Yes, you were right!” She sighs. “There’s no construction there, all those entire things are bullshit! They do that because they want to cut the authority's budget so they can have it in their pocket! It’s a smart move but also brutal!” Cara explains in whispers as her eyes look around the spot so no one could hear us. “How did you know that?” I ask in whispers. “I heard it when I passed the head officer’s office” She responds.
