“Lena is here, she’s fucking right here!”

“How does it come?”

I was taking shower before I met Lena this morning, she doesn’t even see or talk to me. “L… L-Lena?” I shock, my eyes bulged. Lena wasn’t realized that I’m standing right next to her, she was looking for something inside her shower candy. She quickly removes her gaze from the shower candy and looks at me when I call her name. “Oh, God! Lena” I smile. The universe fucked me over and over again, she brings Lena back and I finally can see her.

“It’s really good to see you…” I get closer to her and about to hug her, I’m about to tell her how much I missed her. She avoided me and tell nothing, she doesn’t even look at me after. I was so happy because after five years I finally can see her and have her around. But after this morning I have no idea if I should be happy or not. “Lena… I’m so sorry” I lowering my brow, my breath gets heavy because I held my tears. “I’m so sorry…” Tears start dripping down to my cheeks.

Lena tells nothing and sighs, it stabs me deeply into my heart, knowing that she didn’t want to talk to me anymore, it broke me into pieces and that’s fucking hurts. I quickly grab my shower candy and leave her with tears in my eyes, my heart hurts but it doesn’t compare as I leave her that day, she might hurt a lot than this. Now I know how the feelings of being abandoned by someone we love the most. I back to my cell after and cried a lot in my bunk.

“You look terrible Maia!” Rosa exclaims. My family visits me this morning and nice, I got swollen eyes on my visitation day. “If grandma sees you like this, she might get the hell you out of this place!” Rosa ends. “Look! Don’t tell my shit to mom or dad, especially grandma!” I exclaim in whispers. “Lena is here, she’s fucking right here!” I exclaim. “Whatttt!?” Rosa shocks, her eyes bulged. “Shhhhh…” I shush her. “How does it come?” She asks.

“I-I don’t know… She doesn’t even talk to me or see me!” I sigh. “B-but… why?” She asks. “Fuck you, Rosa! Of course, she hated me!” I exclaim, I’m about to spit on her. “And I haven’t eaten this morning” I end. “You have to eat…” She replies. “I-I have no mood” I heavily sigh. “You know what…” I start. “There’s a woman in here who likes me, we even had sex last night! I’m scared if Lena found out about this, she might hate me more!” I end.

“Of course she’s not! I mean it doesn’t matter, you guys broke up, everything’s end! And you don’t have any relationship or something with her… you both just a stranger with memories” Rosa states. “And you're not even a week in here, how can you found a sex buddy? Oh, Jeez, Maia!” Rosa ends. “Oh God, fuck it! This is my bad” I shook my head in disappointment. “B-but I loved her!” I exclaim in whispers, I almost hit the guest table with the palm of my hand.

“But you know what, if I see myself in Lena’s point of view, I might do worse than she did to me this morning, I might slap myself or kill myself!” I end. “Yeah, Maia, you loved her! And you should slap yourself! But after all, you have to keep your love for yourself because she hated you, she doesn’t even look at you anymore!” Rosa says. I keep what Rosa just says to me and she’s right about that, she’s right that everything is my fault and I shouldn’t leave Lena that day.

Lena hated me, she doesn’t even look at me and I have no idea if she still loved me as I love her. “This is my fault... this is my fucking fault!” I sigh, lowering my face to the ground. “This is life, Maia… we made mistakes” Rosa caresses my arm. “But… if you want her back or forgive you at least, you have to tell her… You have to prove her that you’re not the same person who leaves her that day…” Rosa ends.

I wipe my tears and try to not cry, I feel sorry for hurting Lena, I feel sorry for leaving her and now I wise up. “Ughh… don’t cry, Maia. I didn’t come here to see your falls dripping around your eyes! This is your war and you have to fight to win or don’t fight then” Rosa says. “I’m a bad person… now I realized that” I respond. “I hurt Lena… I hurt her” I sob. “Well if you think that way, so you have to fix it” Rosa replies. “B-but how?” I ask with tears in my eyes.

“I don’t know Maia, I don’t know… find your way” Rosa says. “They are coming!” Rosa shushes me. My family is coming, they’re just got back from the official office and paid for my needs. “How are you, honey?” My dad asks. “I’m fine dad” I reply. “Oh, no! What happened to your eyes? They hurt you?” My grandma suddenly checking on my face in dismay. “No! I’m fine grandma, I-I just through a hard day in here” I explain.

“See! Look at her! She does not belong here!” My grandma shouts to my dad. “Oh, God! My ninita...” She ends and she caressing my hair after. “Where’s Ben?” I ask. “Oh, he can’t be here… he was busy with his work, he called me this morning” My mom replies. “Oh, great!” I scoff, knowing that Ben just putting his job more than me. “You look sick, honey. What happened?” My dad asks. “I felt ill before I got here, I don’t know what happened…” I explain.

“Have you checked on it?” My mom asks. “No mom, I haven’t… maybe later” I respond. “You have to check on it before it gets worse” Rosa says. “Yeah, I will… don’t worry” I reply. “It really good to see you… mom, dad, grandma… I am so happy you guys can be here with me” I smile. “It’s good to see you too honey…” My mom says, she’s caressing my cheek after and smile. I couldn’t help but smile knowing that my family is now by my side.

I sniff her hand and smile, feeling her palm on my cheek. I never felt happier like this because of having my family around me. Spending my nights in here taught me how important my family is and I am so happy that I still had a chance to fix my relationship with them before everything is too late like Lena and I. “Ben might visit you next week or this Monday” My dad says. “It’s okay dad, tell him to call me before he got here” I reply.

“Oh, we got this for you!” My mom takes a bag under the table. “What is it?” I raise my eyebrow. “Huh, just check on it” Rosa says. I take the bag from my mom and open the back quickly, it got me excitedly. “Oh, God! No wayyyyy” I shriek. “See! She likes it!” My grandma laughs softly. “Of course I like it! Oh… thank you so much guys” I say happily. My family brought me a lot of chocolates and snacks, it really helps my pathetic day and I needed this to remove my sadness.

“So you got friends in here?” My grandma asks. “N-no… I got no friends, I just stayed in my bunk all day” I respond. “Sounds good, it’s better for you to stay away from these women, they might dangerous!” My mom whispers. “Uh, no, mom! This place is doesn’t look like what you thought” I reply. “How does it's not! This place is terrible!” My mom says. “No, I actually got more peace in my cell than living around all of you” I state.

“Oh God, this is so great! So should I go to prison too? To get more P.E.A.C.E” My mom says. “Oh, God… sorry for ev-” I’m not finishing my words but my grandma cut me off. “Shhh! Can we please stop fighting and spend the last minute in peace?” My grandma says. I lean my back on my seat and placing a sweet fake smile on my face, after that my family and I just talk about some random things, they leave 30 minutes after the times up.

“Take care, okay?” My grandma says. “I will grandma, don’t worry” I smile as I hug her. “See you next month” My mom and dad hugs me. “Ughh… I love you!” Rosa groans and she hugs me, caressing my back after. “We have to talk!” I whisper into Rosa’s ear. “Okay, we should go!” My dad says. “Hold on! I’ll catch soon, I have to talk to Maia for seconds” Rosa says, and then my family leaves. “What’s up?” Rosa asks.

“I need you to do me a favor!” I say. “Okay, tell me?” Rosa responds. “Okay, I’ll give you my friend’s number and you have to ask him about Lena, you have to ask him about how Lena can end up in this terrible place” I end. “Sure…” Rosa replies. “You got a pen?” I ask. “N-no” Rosa sighs. “Fuck!” I mumble. “W-wait…” Rosa makes her way to the officer's desk and asks him for a pen. “Here, I got it” She gives me the pen.

I write Dmitri’s number on Rosa’s hand “It’s Dmitri, you ever met him” I state. “Well, okay…” Rosa sighs. “Thank you fucking much” I hug her after and caressing her back. “You’ve always got my back, Maia” Rosa caressing my back. “O-okay… I should go, time is up” Rosa chuckles. “Thank you!” I smile with tears in my eyes. “Take care, Maia…” Rosa says and she hugs me once more, she leaves me after.

I watch my family leaves from the prison huge glass window with tears in my eyes, now I’m alone. After all, I had Lena here with me, even though if she doesn’t even want to talk to me, but at least I can see her from distance. I make my way to my cell but my mind keeps thinking about Lena, she’s always in my mind and now I have to find a way to talk to her. “Ughh… fuck!” I groan as I throw myself on my prison bunk, and let my cell fully open.

“How can she got here?” I wonder, staring at the prison ceiling and sigh. “I have to find out, I have to talk to her...” I say to myself as I keep points my gaze to the ceiling. “You got this, Maia! You got this!” I groan. “You love her right? And you know you fucked up! You know that you started this war and you have to fight to win the queen” I talk to myself. “Ugh, God! Damn it! I don’t even know where she is, I don’t even know where Lena’s cell!” I mumble.

“Hey, Maia! I haven’t seen you around, where have you been this morning?”
