Chapter 42: Chapter 42

Roshni's P.O.V.

After dinner, I was about to leave but thinking something, I stopped and turned to Ruhaan.

He was about to enter the kitchen but  when I uttered, “Ruhaan?”, he stopped midway and turned to me.

And I uttered, “Thank you.”

Being confused, he asked me, “For what?”

With a smile, I answered him, “For everything.” and left from there. Entering room, I said my prayer and got on the bed.

I was trying to get some sleep but whatever happened to me earlier today kept coming to my mind.

I was just thinking how could Tamim do this to me. It wasn’t like our marriage was just arranged or he didn’t know me earlier.

He knew me since our college days then how could he believe all those rumors about me? Didn’t he always keep saying that he loves me!

Just remembering his saying ‘He loves me’ and then his silence when my character was questioned made my heart filled with hatred for him.

The neighbours who didn't even know me were present in the backyard of my house then. We didn’t invite them then why they were there?

Who invited them! They even uttered that we have to leave the locality.

Then something popped in my mind. Was it anyway connected to the incident back then!

I uttered under my breath, “Titly!”

There were so many questions and confusions going on in my mind that I couldn’t handle it for long and ended up getting knocked out.

But I got up suddenly having a dream while screaming, “Noo”.

I couldn’t remember what was it exactly but I was scared and sweating terribly. I kept looking all around me to find Tithy but then I remembered I wasn’t there beside her then.

I was so lost in my thought that I didn’t realise when Ruhaan entered the room and got all startled when he slightly put his hand on my shoulder.

Getting myself together, I just uttered, “I need to go my home now.”  and looked up at him.

With uttered confusion, he asked me, “Roshni, what happened?”

When I just uttered again, “I need to go my home NOW.” and got down from bed. He nodded at me and looking at the clock, he spoke up, “Okay. But Roshni, it’s already Fazar time. Let’s say our prayer. It will help you calm down. After that if you still want to go your home, I will take you there.”

I tried to refuse but he made me agreed to him. After prayer, I got out of the room looked for the guest room where Ruhaan said he would stay but was getting confused as there were two rooms where lights were on.

I went towards one room and knocked but didn’t hear any response. I was about to enter the room but right then Ruhaan called me from behind, “Roshni?”

Getting all startled, I turned to him and uttered, “I was looking for you.”

He nodded and asked me, “Do you really want to go to your house now? I mean this time.. ”

Nodding at him, I spoke up sternly, “I need to go.”

“Okay then. Let’s go.”, saying this, he started walking towards staircase and when I uttered, “Ruhaan?”, he turned to me.

I spoke up casually, “You don’t need to go with me. I can” and interrupting me, he spoke up, “You won’t be alone anymore. I promised you, remember?”

When I nodded at him, he spoke up with a little bit of smile, “Let’s go.”

On the way my home, he asked me, “Roshni, is there anything wrong? You  can share with me.”

I kept staring at him for while and thinking, should I tell him what's wrong.

Ruhaan's P.O.V.

Roshni was behaving strangely. I could easily tell something was bothering her. On the way to her house, I asked her what was wrong and she kept staring at me blankly.

I got startled at that and thought may be she was hesitating to tell me about something. Then I spoke up, “Roshni, it’s okay. You can take your time to be comfortable with me to tell me about your problems.”

Hearing me, she looked forward and kept all silent. I also kept silent and continued driving towards her home while pondering what could be the problem.

When we reached her home, it was early in the morning. As soon as I stopped the car, she got down and started walking towards the entrance of her house and unlocked the door with the slightest sound.

Finding nothing to do, I kept following  her. She told me to sit in the living room and went towards other's room.

I was damn confused what was she doing but kept silent as she already out of my sight.

She came back after few moments and looking at me, spoke up, “Let’s go.” and started walking out before I could say something.

Getting in my car, I asked her again, “Roshni, would you please tell me now what’s going on?”

She kept silent for sometime. Then she spoke up, “Ruhaan, some people are behind me and my family. That’s why I didn’t want to get married leaving my family behind. I only agreed because we were supposed to shift together after my marriage. But all those happened then.”

Hearing her, I got shocked and asked her, “Who are the people behind you?”

She spoke up sternly, “That’s a long story. I will tell you later. But right now I want to stay with my family. I can’t leave them this way.”

While nodding at her, I spoke up, “Do you think whatever happened yesterday are the doings of those people behind you?”

She spoke up sadly, “May be.”

Thinking for a while, I spoke up, “Roshni if you want, you can shift together even now. I don’t have any problem.”

She looked at me blankly and spoke up, “It’s okay. If I stay here with them then” but interrupting her, I spoke up, “Will your mother agree with this if you stay here?”

Roshni's P.O.V.

.

We were in Ruhaan’s car that was still parked right beside my house. Hearing Ruhaan, I fell in deep thought. He was right in guessing that Ammi won’t agree with my stay here. But I just can't take Tithy and Ammi to Ruhaan's place. It will be too much and besides Ammi won’t agree to this either.

What should I do now!

My chain of a got cut when Ruhaan spoke up, “Should I talk to your mother?”

While shaking my head, I spoke up, “No. Let me talk to her. And I don’t have to go office today. I want to be home. If I get failed to convince Ammi, would you mind to pick me up in the evening?”

While shaking his head, he spoke up smilingly, “It’s okay. Give me a call and I will be there.”

I nodded and spoke up, “Thank you. And you too come inside now.”

Ruhaan tried to say something, “It’s okay. I will just” but cutting him off, I spoke up, “If you don’t come inside, Ammi will think otherwise.”

He uttered hesitantly, “Okay.” and staying in the car for a little longer, we got down and went towards my house.

Pressing calling bell, we stayed by the entrance without directly going inside unlocking the door.

Tithy came to the door and seeing us, she unlocked the door happily and spoke up, “Api, Sir..You here?”

Not to get caught by her, I spoke up with a frowning face, “Why! Can’t we?”

She shook her head instantly as she spoke up, “I didn’t mean that Api. Come inside. ”

We entered inside the house and Tithy shouted, “Ma, Api and Ruhaan Sir are here.”

Ammi was in the kitchen. Seeing us, she came forward and greeted us happily and made Ruhaan sit in the living room.

We took breakfast together and this time, the environment was quite different. I just got shocked at one thing. Tithy was back to her normal self and blabbering like as usual and Ruhaan was listening to that with full of concentration.

After breakfast, Ruhaan left for office but gave Tithy another day off.

Ammi was very happy with Ruhaan and she as behaving like I was married to Ruhaan normally. As if not Tamim but Ruhaan was the person, I was supposed to marry yesterday.

The day went on happily with doing random stuffs but I couldn’t convince Ammi for my stay over there.

Whenever I tried, she spoke up, “Roshni, you are married now. It’s right to be in your husband’s house now.”

Taking Ruhaan's number from Tithy, I messaged him to pick me up. He came to my house in the evening and after dinner, we left from there.

All the way his home, we kept silent and entering his house, I spoke up, “I will get some sleep now.”

He nodded and I left for his room. After prayer, I got on the bed and tried to get some sleep.

Suddenly I woke up from sleep having a dream and again started feeling restless though I didn’t remember the dream this time also.

I looked for water in the room and when I didn’t found it, I got out of the room and went downstairs. After having water, I started walking towards my room again but the lights on a room bothered me.

It was past midnight. Is Ruhaan awake still now! Thinking like this, I forwarded towards the room completely forgetting the fact that Ruhaan got out from other room previous day.

The door was slightly open but I didn’t get inside but uttered normally by the door, “Ruhaan?”

When he didn’t answer me after calling for few times, I entered the room hesitantly.

There was none in the room. I turned to leave from there but then my eyes caught the sight of something and I uttered sadly and being utterly shocked, “Titly!”.

I got frozen in the place right in front of the big photo frame where the smiling picture of Titly was hung on the wall.
