Chapter 63: Chapter 63
Pamela sniffled. She's been trying to control her tears but couldn't. Talking about it seemed to her as if she was pouring out her emotions.
"When?" Lucas asked, still his gaze fixed on her. Louis Hayden is the father of her kids. It shouldn't be a problem if any of the parents chooses to be with the kids.
But he needed to ask her some questions. He doesn't know on what grand she separated from Louis, what happened back then when she went missing that the Hayden's family spent so much on searching for her?
Were they divorced, did she leave suddenly that no one knows why? What happened?
"Yesterday. He went to their school and fetched them from there. My lawyer and I had a talk with him but the result of the meeting is, he isn't returning the kids to me" Pamela started sobbing.
Lucas stood up and went to her, patting her back gently. He was courteous enough not to entertain the thoughts of embracing her. They are friends and not lovers anymore.
"Get upstairs and put on something else, I am taking you out" Lucas announced. If Pamela is to overcome her present mood, he needs to take her somewhere else.
Calm her troubled heart and have some words with her. That's what a friend should do. He would take her out and only bring her back when she's relieved of her hurting heart.
"No, Lucas. I don't feel like going anywhere" Pame declined. She's not in her best mood to ever let the idea of going out for fun crosses her mind.
"I am not asking you how you feel about going out. I am simply asking you to get dressed and accompany me out. That's all" Lucas insisted.
"No, Lucas," Pamela refused.
"I won't take no for an answer" Lucas insisted.
Twenty minutes later, Pamela and Lucas were in his car. He was driving while Pamela was seated at the copilot's seat. She didn't say anything but was calm, remembering how things used to be between her and Lucas.
"I don't know the circumstances that resulted in your separation with Louis Hayden, but I want you not to be worked out because he has the kids" Lucas chipped in.
Pamela looked away, gazing out of the window. Why wouldn't she be worked out, when he sprouted and took her kids away from her.
"Would you mind if I take you to a club?" Lucas asked, glancing briefly at her and concentrating on the steering wheel again
"No please, take me to a quiet place," Pamela replied. Going to a club, the noise, stares and kind of people and music there is something she cannot withstand at the moment.
Besides, what would others think about her after accompanying a man to a club and yet, not having a relationship with him.
Lucas nodded. He arrived at a restaurant and told Pamela they were going to have dinner first and talk. But before alighting from the car, Lucas Phone rang.
He glanced at the caller ID and, and turned to glance at Pamela briefly. Their eyes locked and Lucas said "Your Foster uncle"
"I am not a part of that family anymore, Lucas. Don't let me get upset with you, please" Pamela warned.
She's right. The Grayson's are dead to her. After all she's been through, it's enough if she serves her ties with them.
At a time, he was also a part of their family, when he was Emma's husband. Now, he no longer shares any relationship with them.
"You are right," Lucas replied. They alighted from the car and Lucas led Pamela into the restaurant. He booked a table for two at the extreme end and sat down with Pamela.
The waiter came to take orders but Pamela only requested for mineral water. Lucas urged her to request something else but she refused.
Lucas didn't push further but simply nodded, he waved the waiter to go. He was left alone with Pamela.
"I know how you are feeling Pamela. I had a similar feeling some time ago, though not exactly with what you are going through, but similar.
But being moody, sobbing can harm your health more than the loneliness caused by having your children with their dad. You should know that I am here for you, you can always turn to me when you need someone to talk to" Lucas offered.
"Thank you Lucas," Pamela said, pushing backwards, her hair. "All I want from Louis is my kids. Louis can't just take them away from me. How can Louis do that to me?
After all I've been through, he took my kids from me. Louis Hayden is annoying me like he did in the past. I have a soft spot for him doesn't mean he can do this.
I wanted to sue Louis, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Louis is occupying my heart, my head, my thoughts and everything in me and the same Louis didn't spare me a glance. Louis is just after the kids and…" Pamela was pouring her heart and expressing her frustration when Lucas held her hands.
"Pamela, Pamela wait" Lucas interrupted her. He glanced at her, prying into her eyes and trying to read how reflected it was of her heart content.
"What, why are you gazing at me like I'm some statue?" Pamela demanded, frowning at Lucas.
"Hahahaha…" Lucas laughed out loud, raising his hand to apologise at the same time. "I'm sorry Pamela... hahahaha…"Lucas couldn't bring himself to stop laughing.
Confused about what might be amusing Lucas. Pamela couldn't help it but chuckled aloud. She covered her mouth with her palm and laughed quietly.
"Okay..okay" tapping his chest gently, to bring himself to stop laughing. "Do you even know how many times you mentioned the name Louis in a minute?" Lucas asked.
Pamela was taken by surprise. She shook her head and shrugged. Mention the name Louis? Did she mention the name more than necessary?
Lucas narrowed his brow when he saw Pamela's passive response. She probably did not take notice of her words. Pamela is obsessed with Louis and more than that, she loves him.
"You mention his name more than five times in a minute. And do you want me to tell you what that means and what I saw in your eyes?" Lucas demanded.
Pamela blinked her eyes jokingly. Did she mention his name that much in her words? Oh gosh! She's so annoying.
"You sounded like someone who is in love. And I confirmed it in your eyes, Pamela. You are in love with Louis Hayden but you don't know how to express it or you don't want to accept that fact" Lucas blurted out.
"Oh no common, shake it off. There's no way I can be in love with Louis Hayden, not after what he's done to me" Pamela shrugged.
But a part of her disagrees with her. Why is she feeling as if Lucas' words contain only the truth. He wasn't furious or angry about his assertion.
"I know you Pamela. And I know what it's like when you are in love and don't forget that I can read your thoughts at a bare minimum.
You are in love with Louis. But you are unhappy that he Pursued you for the kids sake and not the other way round. If he had pursued you, trying to win you back to himself, it wouldn't hurt you like it does now" Lucas analyzed.
Pamela gazed at him with a pouted lips. She found no word to defend herself. She didn't argue and Lucas didn't pursue the matter further.
Lucas ended up cheering Pamela up that when they got back into the car, Pamela was laughing hysterically. She had forgotten her pains and disappointment earlier.
"Tell me, what about your wife and son, aren't you going to have another?" Pamela asked jokingly.
But Lucas' countenance changed. He didn't want to talk about himself. Just wanted to cheer Pamela up and drop her off at home with a different mood than he took her out.
But looks like the discussion had turned towards him. He glanced at Pamela and saw her scooping ice cream into her mouth, smiling cheerfully.
Pamela liked taking ice cream. She was always fond of buying an extra cup of it each time he takes her out in the past. And if he couldn't take her out, he would buy her an ice cream when coming to see her.
On the day he met Emma at home and fucked her, he had actually brought an ice cream to Pamela. She wasn't home that day and the worst happened between him and her foster sister.
That was the beginning of his estrangement from Pamela. He thought it was only going to happen once and never again.
But no, he fucked her once, and again, and again. He couldn't bring himself to stop drilling her with his dick until he completely became estranged from Pamela.
He knew he didn't deserve her anymore. It doesn't make any sense to be engaged to an elder sister and yet, greasing the younger sister's pussy.
He knew he had lost her then and even today, he will never be able to get her back. Glancing at her by his side, he imagined how their lives would have been happy and blessed if destiny hadn't taken a different turn on them.
But then, this is the path he had chosen for himself, a path that originates from betrayals and unfaithfulness and would definitely lead to an everlasting regret.
"Well, I'm divorced with Emma and I don't have a son" Lucas replied with his gaze now fixed straight in front of him and his hand firm on the steering wheel.
Pamela was taking a scoop to her mouth when Lucas answered her. She suddenly paused and her hand became suspended in the air.
Lucas and Emma divorced? They didn't love each other to the end? What happened, and to think that he said he doesn't have a son. Didn't Emma give birth to a son, is the boy dead?
She remembered they had some issues sometime ago, but she didn't know the marriage finally dissolved. So he's single again?
"I'm sorry, I didn't know you and Emma are not together anymore" Pamela apologised. She didn't mean to make him feel bad. He's helped her recover from her moodiness, she shouldn't transfer the previous mood to him.
"No, what are you sorry about? We weren't meant for each other in the first place. So, it's better if we go our separate ways" Lucas answered flippantly.
He sounded casual in his words, but his heart was feeling the hurt and regret. He turned sideways and glanced at her briefly with a forced smile.
