Freya started sobbing. What kind of a daughter did she give birth to? No matter how unloving a father is Toba child, the child wouldn't say or be non concerned when the father's life is being threatened.

She didn't believe her, she thought she was lying about her father's health condition? She started sobbing the more. This isn't Emma's fault, she was to be blamed.

She has been a liar and has taught her daughter how to be subtle in getting things out of other people's hands. She was the one who even counselled her to twist everything away from Lucas Wright.

She probably was thinking she was trying to be subtle with her. She knew she hadn't been a good mother to Emma but that day, she realised she had sown a seed in her daughter's life that might be difficult to uproot later.

"I asked you what Emma said?" Greg asked again. Freya's fresh sob makes him feel as if she didn't get a positive response from Emma. He had always known that his niece was a stinking spoiled brat.

He had lost hope in her as a good woman after she backstabbed her sister Pamela by sleeping with her fiance and getting pregnant for him.

After that incident, he stopped seeing her as his niece. Such an irresponsible girl who deceitfully got everything from her husband and brought another man into the house to grease her pussy.

He will not be surprised if she refuses to give a helping hand. She is a mistake to the parents. If they don't have a child it is better for them than this heartache they call a daughter.

"She's not ready to help. She said she doesn't have money and wished her father a quick recovery" Freya summarised it. She's ashamed to call herself Emma's mother.

How can she possibly have conceived and carried this scoundrel in her belly for nine months and give birth to her? Raised her to adulthood and now that she needed to help save her father, she declined.

"Okay" Greg said casually. He is not surprised nor does it come as a shock. There's only one person they can call now, Lucas Wright.

"How about I call Lucas?" Greg suggested. He glanced at Freya and she suddenly paused, her hands shivered before saying "I don't know what Rowland did to him but he was in the hospital and from there, he divorced Emma.

Emma and Rowland eventually own all he has. I don't think he is in any way related to us again after all Emma did to him" Freya explained briefly.

Greg's eyes became darkened. After he didn't see Lucas return, he just assumed he was gone to his mom's place, at least that's what he told him a few days later when he called him.

"Rowland is Emma's boyfriend, right?" Greg asked. "Yes, and the father of Albert," Freya replied.

Greg looked away and reserved his comments. When he tried to caution Freya that the way she was raising Emma was wrong, she insulted him and asked him why he didn't raise his own family.

Greg sat down and thought of the best decision to make.

Emma became uncomfortable after talking with her mother. Is her dad really hospitalised? Her mother cannot possibly be lying about something so scary.

She decided she would send some money to her mom to help her with whatever she needs it for. Either use it for her dad's treatment like she wanted or spend it on whatever she wants.

But checking her account balance, she discovered the account was zero. Has Rowland emptied her account? Why would he do so without her consent and what did he use it for?

She will come back to that. She would ask him when she arrived home. He must explain and give details of how he spent the money.

She decided to use Lucas' account. All his Savings were in her name now and she hasn't really touched the money except once when she transferred money to Rowland to settle his debts.

She tried but alas, that account was empty too. She was suspicious that there might be foul play somewhere. She decided to call the customer service of Lucas' bank and was surprised when she was told that she transferred the money into another account online.

How, she transfer such a huge amount of money without her knowledge? She requested for the information and in less than three minutes, her account statement was sent to her email.

She was dazed. It was all transferred to Rowland's account. He emptied it and left a zero balance. What nonsense, she was going home to find him.

When she arrived home, she didn't meet Rowland at home. The nanny said he left shortly after she went to the office. She called and he didn't answer until later in the day.

When Rowland got home, Emma confronted him and asked him why he emptied both her account and the savings she got from her ex husband?

Seeing that Emma had discovered his thrift he opened up "I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I wanted it to be a surprise when the whole outcome came, bursting out like a fountain of wealth.

I had invested in a foreign business, forensic business to be precise. It requires a lot of financial involvement and hence I used your savings and the properties papers…" Rowland was explaining when Emma interrupted him.

"What property papers?" She asked, alarmed. She can take it if her money and bogus savings she got from Lucas was gone. But not the property papers?

"The house and the two cars. I left the one you are frequently using. I am doing this for us. Me, you and Albert. We will become one of the richest families in Oak City" Rowland explained.

He wasn't lying. He had indeed invested the entire savings. His investment in the forensic business is running in millions of dollars. After putting in the money he stole from Emma, he signed the original properties papers and also got more money from a Mafia gangster.

It was risky to involve the mafia of the dark forest in his borrowing. But the thought of getting a return in triple fold propelled him into doing that.

Besides, Jessica was part of his plans. Once the expected money comes, they will elope together and leave Emma and her miserable son to survive.

Of course he wasn't interested in getting the house back, rather he would buy another and be with his dear Jessica. Emma has lost the properties forever.

"What have you done, Rowland? How can you invest so much in a business you are just getting started in?" Emma bellowed. What kind of a man was this, a complete waster.

"Ok, tell me when this investment will ripen? When are you expecting the bursting of the fountain of wealth?" She asked, mimicking him in his words.

"Two weeks time. I started two weeks ago and I was told it would be in a month's time. In two weeks time, our financial life will be settled forever" Rowland sounded confident.

Emma stared at him perplexed. "I hope you won't regret this action you've taken?" She gnawed at him and walked away. This is too much.

He got into an investment and didn't even think of leaving anything behind. What if Albert suddenly has a crisis?

When Lucas left office, he felt like seeing Pamela. He had been worried about her since morning. He decided to call her.

"Hello" the weak voice came from the other side of the phone. Lucas immediately recognized that something was wrong.

He asked where she was and Pamela told her she was at home. He didn't bother asking her if she's alright or not. Because he knew she wasn't feeling well.

He drove to her Mansion and easily he was allowed in. He met Pamela seated in the sitting room. Her eyes were red and slightly puffy.

Lucas just stood and stared at her. Seeing Pamela like this isn't strange to him at all. But he hates to see her like that back then and even at present.

"What happened to you?" Lucas asked, still standing and staring at her. He looked around and didn't see the kids.

"Take a seat, Lucas" Pamela offered, offering him a seat but he wouldn't. How was he supposed to sit while she wasn't answering his question?

"Why have you been sobbing and where are the kids?" He asked, ignoring her gesture. This face he was staring at had probably been sobbing for hours.

"Not until you take a seat" Pamela declared. She beckoned him still, offering him a seat.

Lucas nodded and took a seat. He sat opposite of Pamela and stared at her with doting eyes. This is the woman he loved, he had only discovered the depth of his love for her when he learnt the gain of betrayals.

"Now, I'm seated. Tell me what happened, why have you been sobbing?" Lucas asked, his gaze fixed on her.

"Louis Hayden had taken my kids from me" Pamela declared, helplessly.
