Chapter 57: Chapter 57

Pamela saw him and she looked uncomfortable. Louis stopped to pass her a glance and their eyes locked. They both stared at each other briefly before Pamela took her eyes off.

Lucas passed Pamela a quick glance and then Louis Hayden another glance. He sighed softly, these two ex spouses are something else.

Just like that, Louis strode off. Romeo lingered a little behind. But since Pamela didn't show any interest in saying anything, he went away.

As soon as they got outside, before getting into his car, Louis Hayden glared at the bodyguard who had a heated argument with Pamela a while ago.

"If you ever talk so rudely to Pamela Grayson again, I will have you incapacitated and leave you to rot away in jail. Is that clear?"

Louis' warning was filled with resentment and fury. He seemed to be furious over something else and not solely because of the way the bodyguard spoke to Pamela.

"Yes, sir" the bodyguard bowed slightly. What has he now done wrong? Why is the boss taking his fury out on him? That woman was in the wrong and he was just doing his job.

Romeo held the door for Louis Hayden to get in and then went to take the copilot's seat. Why is the boss furious? Was he jealous that Pamela was with someone else and not him?

Besides, nothing was ever going to work out between the two again, at least if Pamela has some sense of decorum and self esteem for herself. And she doesn't look like an idiot to him.

When Pamela arrived home, she sank into the sofa. What is happening with her, she should have summoned courage and talked with Louis.

But that bodyguard wouldn't let her come anywhere close to him. She would take the job offer and leave Oak City. But how can she leave without saying a word to Louis?

Especially concerning the kids. He has every right to know about their whereabouts. Now, she didn't stop him from seeing them but she isn't going to let him have them in his mansion.

He hadn't come to check on them but she won't go back on her words. He had equal rights with the kids as her. After saving Dora's life, he can get close to them.

She must go to Hayden's cooperation the next morning. The entire employees of Stonecut group have been hired by Louis Hayden.

The company still moves on and work goes on as usual. But she isn't interested in working there anymore, and that is simply because of Louis Hayden.

In Middletown City, Clarion Johnson was unhappy. How can Tarvan Johnson strip everything away from Pamela? It's not her fault that things took this turn.

If Louis hadn't divorced her, or forced her into having a pseudo abortion, she wouldn't have taken such decisions and measures against Louis Hayden and in extension, his parents.

Now, the company was ripped off from her by Tarvan and sold to Louis Hayden of all people. Why wouldn't he just leave her with the company, why sell it off and to Louis Hayden at that?

"This is not right Tarvan. This is unfair towards Pamela. Tell me, If she was Alice and not that she's Alice's daughter, would you treat her this way?

You stripped her of all royalty and took away her power of finances, now, the only thing she has left is the company and you sold it off?

Why did you make such a solo decision? It was you and I who invested into that company and now, you sold it off without consulting me as well? Why Tarvan?" Clarion felt grieved.

"Whatever I am doing, is simply because I love Pamela exactly the way I loved my daughter Alice. I want her to do things in the right way.

Father would die some day and I would take over the throne. Pamela is my only hope of running the family bloodline of royalty, how can she come home with illegitimate children?

She needs to mend her relationship with Louis Hayden. Whatever he's done to her, he has apologised. And like he said, he had paid for it when Pamela tried to send him bankrupt.

He saved our dear little Dora's life. What else did she want Louis Hayden to do to atone for his wrongs, until he cut himself and bled to death?"Tarvan demanded.

Clarion knew that Tarvan's words made a lot of sense. But even at that stripping her off of all her entitlement as a princess and taking the company away from her was too much to use in scolding her.

"Louis divorced her and forced her…" Clarion was saying when Tarvan interrupted her "I'm sorry your Majesty, my wife, I want them both to get reconcile or she gets someone else to be married to and give those children a complete home" Tarvan Johnson declared.

He said his last words with such a tone of finality that Clarion had to walk away from his sight in fury. She cannot go against her husband's wishes but then, she cannot force him into Changing his mind about Pamela.

There's only one person she can work on, Pamela. She needed to reach out to Pamela again. It's been months since she last heard her voice.

Her bowel yearned for her for a long time now. Against Tarvan's orders, she would contact her secretly and advise her on making her decision as soon as she can.

She will find a convenient time and have a chat with her granddaughter. She can't love her less. She reminds her of her daughter, her own mother. Such a bond she shares with Pamela.

The next morning, Pamela dropped the kids off at school. She kissed Dora's chin and said goodbye. But the little girl held her mother and with teary eyes, she said "I see my daddy always. He comes to check on me but will not come in. Will you take me to him?"

Pamela's hands shivered. Louis Hayden comes to check on his kids and she doesn't know? She looked around but Dora said "he didn't come today"

Dora was right. She often saw her father parked his car a little distance from them and would wind down the glasses, staring at them.

Once, after her mother left, she waved at him and he waved back, blowing her kisses. She saw him and he smiled at her.

Pamela sighed and cupped Dora's face in her palm "Everything will be alright baby. One day things will fall into place and you will get to see your daddy everyday"

She didn't know if Dora understood her words or not. But the little girl should know that things sometimes don't happen the way they want it.

But Dora nodded. Her mummy said one day she would get to see her daddy everyday. She believed her mummy and smiled.

Glad that her words made some sense to Dora, she kissed her temple and said goodbye to her. She waited and saw her ran off into her classroom.

Pamela got into her car and was quiet for some time. She's been through a lot these past few months because of her stand on keeping the kids.

She had lost a few precious properties and titles because she preferred to have those kids as her most treasured asset. What she wouldn't be able to take is to see them one day be taken away from her.

If Louis had come this far, he might one day, take them away forcefully. And as it is at the moment, she has no strength to withstand him.

That power she's got is gone. She had nothing and no backing whatsoever to contend with Louis. Looks like she had to make a quick decision and leave Oak City.

Initially, she had wanted to inform Louis Hayden that she wants to leave with the kids. But now, she would sneak away with them. She won't give him a chance to say no to her decision.

She would leave Oak City that evening. She would rather return home and pack her suitcases and that of her kids. They had to leave that day.

Pamela got back to her Mansion, she started packing a few things into her suitcase. She booked a flight and was merely waiting to pick her kids from school when the least of what she expected happened.
