Chapter 47: Chapter 47
Clarion rushed after the nanny and went to find that Dora was laid on her bed. The little girl looked pale and sickly. The screaming and racing on the stairs made Tarvan Johnson come out of his study and went after them.
One of the nanny had called the doctor. She was fidgeting. Dora had fainted twice in a week. What is wrong with her? A paediatrician was always checking on them on a weekly basis to ensure they are fine.
She looked weak and sickly. She had always looked malnourished and unhealthy unlike her brothers. She was said to have an underlying illness.
Clarion went to sit by her bedside and held her hand "Dora dear, open your eyes" she pleaded. As if the girl would hear her, she ran her hand over her hair as a lone tear fell off her eyes.
Tarvan came over and held Clarion, telling her to move aside. She shouldn't get worried unnecessarily. The nannies stood by the sidelines, every one of them were waiting for the doctor to arrive.
"What happened to her this time?" Tarvan asked. He knew she fainted three days ago and was resuscitated. The doctor prescribed some medicine and tonics to help build her blood.
She was placed on a special diet and supplement different from her siblings, all in an attempt to make her rebuild her weak body and boost her blood.
He least expected that in the midst of this treatment and medical recommendation, she could still faint.
"She was with her siblings when their tutors were teaching them. Suddenly she fell off her seat and fainted" her nanny explained.
"I've called the doctor, he will soon be here" another nanny added. They felt weak and unhappy. If anything goes wrong with the little princess, how will Miss Pamela and her grandparents feel?
Clarion was going to call Pamela but Tarvan said no. She would be destabilized. They can handle whatever happens without her.
Soon the paediatrician arrived. He asked everyone to excuse him except Dora's great grandparents. The doctor examined her and told them she was having signs and symptoms of cancer.
He advised them that they should bring her to the hospital immediately. She needs to be placed in an intensive care unit.
Tarvan said alright. He asked that the chauffeur get the car ready, they needed to rush Dora to the hospital immediately.
Louis Hayden had waited for five minutes before Miranda Alvan arrived. She apologised for keeping him waiting and kissed Louis chin before taking a seat before him.
Louise shook hands with her and she smiled seductively at him. She's had a crush on Louis from college. Now seeing him a man he had now become, those feelings seemed to be reawakened in her.
She's a woman now. Married and divorced. She wants to bring the piece of her life together and wouldn't mind making Louis Hayden the centre of her life.
The waiter took their orders and soon returned with their lunch. Louis poured himself drinks and Poured for Miranda Alvan as well.
"Lunch to our new partnership" Louise Hayden raised his glasses for a toast. "And to our health and happiness" Miranda Alvan chimed, raising her toast as well.
They then drank and soon had their lunch. Midway through the lunch, Miranda Alvan asked "You got married at a time, what happened with your union?"
Louis Hayden paused and almost choked on his food. He took a glass of water and sipped it down. What was Miranda asking him about his past?
"Sorry" she said, Pausing to glance at Louis who almost choked. He coughed slightly and helped himself with water. "I didn't mean to make you to choke"
"It's okay" Louis replied, and placed his glass of water down. He sighed softly and said "I was married but got divorced" he replied honestly.
Miranda Alvan glared at him in surprise. He's a free man now. She didn't say anything again as they both ate in silence. Louis Hayden kept glancing at her from time to time.
When they were done, Miranda and Louis talked at length about executing the project ahead. It's a mega project that will take in some much financial commitment.
A robotic machine which has the ability to run errands, answer phone calls and can even act as securities. They cannot be affected by bullets , fire or electrocution.
They would be configured and almost all companies in the world would be after such machines. The governments of various countries will be in need of such machines as well.
Miranda's father had created the formula and software needed to build the machine. But some hardened elements went after him and wanted to sabotage it.
With his life, he protected it and now, his daughter Miranda Alvan was going to make it happen, she was going to have the project executed, side by side with the billionaire dude Louis Hayden.
They agreed to fix another date for the meeting. Then they would be with their experts from both sides. At the meeting, they would discuss in depth about how to begin the execution of the project and then what it will cost them to bring it to limelight.
Business and partnership discussion was over and the two old friends chatted and talked at length when suddenly Miranda Alvan asked "Do you know that many girls had a crush on you back then?"
Louis Hayden laughed. He knows. In fact that made him stay away from ladies. Many of the girls in his class would want to be around him, making him look like a celebrity.
"Of course I know that. And hence I stayed away from them" He replied smiling and imagining the past. Only Miranda Alvan and Natalie Jolly were his friends among the girls. And that's because they are plain and not showing any slight feeling of love or something towards him.
Miranda Alvan's lips twitched. She loved him the most back then and even till now, she still loves him. If only he could spare her a glance and look into her eyes and read her mind from it.
"You are one such boy I respect. You have every quality any woman would love and yet, you are careful of your involvement with them" she teased.
Louis Hayden is super cute and handsome. She hadn't seen him beyond his facial looks but she can tell his body was as good looking as his face.
His perfect height, his well sculptured V-shaped face and his perfect pinkish lips coupled with his beautiful glittering skin makes any woman want to own him.
And she wished to own him, body and soul. She wants to be that woman who has the right to his body and time. Everything about him was so cute and unique.
But why did he get divorced? He is charming, cute and rich. What other qualities does any woman want?
"After you got divorced, do you have any woman in your life now?" Miranda Alvan asked.
"Nope. I don't have any before and after the divorce. But I am to put things in order now and have my kids" Louis declared.
"Why did she leave you then, I mean she divorced you, right?" Miranda asked. A part of her was happy that he is single and free for her to occupy his heart.
"She didn't leave me, I left her," Louis Hayden replied in a solemn way. His mood changed slightly and he seemed to look in a certain direction.
He was envisaging Pamela's face. He despised, divorced and forced her to have an abortion. He regretted those actions very much and now, Pamela was a different person. He can not even approach her for a new beginning.
Before Miranda Alvan could ask him why, he continued "I didn't love her when she was my wife. Our couple relationship was not such that it was birthed by love or from our mutual consent. It just happened…" Louis trailed off and put on a forced smile.
He didn't want to talk about himself anymore. Nor was he interested in discussing her own life anymore. He raised his wrist and looked at the time.
"It's almost past lunch time, can we meet again some other time?" Louis asked with a smile.
"Yeah, sure" Miranda Alvan replied, standing up and taking her designer bag. They both walked out, hand in hand and the first person they met as they walked out of the private room made Louis Hayden shocked:
