Chapter 44: Chapter 44
Clarion wondered why Leah would visit so early without pre-informing her. But Leah wasn't looking good at all. It appeared she hadn't had a good night's rest, considering the dark lines below her eyes.
Clarion came closer and asked "what a pleasant surprise, Leah" she declared, smiling. Leah can come to see her and Tarvan anytime, she's like a daughter to them.
"Good morning Aunt Clarion. I haven't come to see you but Pamela. Would you please have one of the servants call her" Leah declared, not smiling nor standing up in courtesy.
Clarion observed the facial expressions of Leah, it wasn't a pleasant one. She squinted and had the feeling that she didn't come for good, she's like someone who has a tassel to settle.
But what does she have to do with Pamela, they had barely met once, which could probably be the reason for her wanting to see Pamela.
Anyways, Clarion nodded and beckoned to one of the servants around and ordered her to tell Pamela to come downstairs immediately.
It wasn't quite three minutes, and Pamela descended the stairs. She saw Leah Hayden seated when she got to the sitting room, her eyes became darkened, Leah had definitely come to create a scene.
Ellis woke up and didn't find Leah. Where had she been? He took his bath and came downstairs, but didn't find Leah. Louis Hayden was dressed and came downstairs for breakfast.
He didn't see his mother and was going to ask his father when the latter asked "Have you seen your mum this morning?"
Louis Hayden was lost. He should be asking him. Didn't they both share the same room and bed overnight? Why would he be able to answer that question?
"I should be asking you, dad" Louis Hayden replied and Ellis agreed with his son. He should know better than him.
Still concerned, he called the securities and asked them if they saw his wife. The men said yes. Ma'am had taken one of the cars and drove out early that morning.
Louis and his father exchanged glances. Ellis said the securities could go and he was alone with his son. For a few seconds, both father and son were speechless.
Finally, Louis guessed and he really guessed right "Mum must have gone to the Johnson's"
Meanwhile, Leah stared at Pamela with utmost irritation before she stood up and walked closer to her "Do you feel comfortable with your malicious act?
The height of your inhumanness was when you tried to ruin my son. How dare you Pamela? How dare you raise your finger against my son.
You restrained me and Ellis for the kids we made you carry for us. And now you tried to ruin your ex husband and the father of your kids?
I will forget that I ever knew Alice and ruined you. I will make you hide your face forever in Oak city that even your maternal family would refuse to associate with you as their dear royal daughter.
I will begin by sending your nude pictures all over social media and then the paternity test of your kids will be questioned. The drumming is about to begin, get ready to dance.." Leah declared.
Clarion felt she would collapse any moment. What is going on, what is Leah saying or rather what had she just said? Pamela and Louis, what is happening?
"Leah, if I get you correctly, Pamela is…"Clarion asked. She needed to understand exactly what Leah said. She wants it point blank and not guessing or assuming to understand her words.
"Pamela is Louis' ex-wife. And those children she had are my grandkids. She was behind everything that happened to Hayden's cooperation yesterday.
But I have been quiet. No mother will be quiet when she sees her son being hurt. I won't be quiet this time. Pamela and I are at each other's throats now.
If I had known she had this personality in her I wouldn't have pushed Louis this far. I have forgotten she was raised by Freya Grayson" Leah seethed.
She turned around and walked out of the Johnson's Mansion. She doesn't feel interested in staying there another minute to behold the face of a woman like Pamela.
Her phone ranged and she knew who was calling. That ringtone was strictly for Ellis. She answered the phone and Ellis' voice through "where are you,my love?"
"On my way" Leah Hayden replied and slid into the car. Her chauffeur drove her through the giant gate of the Johnson's Mansion. She looked aggrieved.
Pamela's eyes got reddened. Her most kept secret had been exposed right before her grandmother. This is the end of it.
Clarion felt she would have a cerebral haemorrhage. This is too much to absorb. Pamela and Louis and then the quadruplets. What the hell is going on here?
This is too hard for her to believe. It will take sometime before she's able to absorb all she's heard that morning. Such huge words to hear early in the morning.
She even thought of pairing Louis Hayden and her granddaughter Pamela. She and Tarvan are the naive ones. The others knew each other and even had been a family in the past.
And to think the worse that Pamela was behind the bankruptcy that the Hayden's group encountered and ignorantly, asked her to salvage it.
Clarion's mind was in a mess. She needs to get everything straight and stop this mental blurriness she now feels.
Pamela turned around and wanted to slip away from her granny's presence when Clarion "Don't you dare take another step.."
