Chapter 38: Chapter 38
Louis Hayden has the desire to be with Pamela and talk things over with her. He knew he crossed the Rubicon when he forced her to have an abortion.
He didn't know half of the things he now knows. Why his parents did it and went ahead to have an insemination with her. He has no idea of those details except that he opened his eyes and found himself with a woman in the same room.
He saw her as an opportunist. He just wanted her out of his house and life. He doesn't have this thing for women and her presence doesn't just make him feel comfortable.
But he is glad that it was never done after all. His mother's happiness was more important than anything to him right now. He would ask that Pamela let her get closer to the kids.
Louis arrived at the venue for their date. It's a popular resort. The resort is the centre of attraction for tourism. It's the most popular resort in Oak city and yet the most expensive.
It is a building with different recreational activities for children, adults and adolescents. But it's suitable for couples especially the likes of Louis and Pamela having a blind date after divorce.
The resort was buit between woods and with a mountain surrounded by its adjacent sides. It has a place for lodging as well as temporary guests who come and leave in hours.
Louis booked the entire resort for that evening. He doesn't want anyone coming and going, he was still the young billionaire and business mogul in Oak city and Pamela, the newest CEO in town and the princess of the Middletown royal family.
Louis came with his bodyguards but they stayed a distance away. He waited, they were to meet by 7pm but it was half past seven and Pamela hadn't shown up.
He would wait. The entire resort was his for the night. He would wait until she arrived. He is busy and his time was important to him, but he would give that time up to meet with his ex wife.
Louis remained there until a quarter to 8pm when Pamela walked into the result, surrounded by bodyguards that were heavily armed.
She was dressed in black cloak from her head to her toes. Her garment flowed on the floor flabbily as she approached Louis.
The latter recognized her at once but was confused why she should be dressed in black. She seemed to be masking herself and that doesn't befit a blind date apparel.
Louis felt suffocated but held his tongue in cheek. Pamela came over and sat before him, and next minute, kicked the glass table separating them.
Louis watched it as she placed her legs on the tumbled table. That means his drinks had gone off, shattering on the floor. An embarrassing scene.
Louis Hayden raised a brow and glared at Pamela. The latter did the same under her dark shade glasses. Her lips showed a deep sign of sneer and eventually, Louis sighed.
"How have you been Pamela?" Louis initiated a conversation. He felt irritated by her appearance and attitude. Why is she behaving strange and weird?
" Louis Hayden" she simply mentioned his name and said nothing else. She kept staring at him from behind her glasses.
"I had looked forward to this meeting, Pamela. Not as a blind date but as a reunion meeting. And I think I have a lot to straighten out between us.
First, how have you been all these years? I want to seize this opportunity to apologize for my irrational behaviour the time we parted. I looked everywhere for you, and I didn't…" Louis Hayden was saying when Pamela interrupted him.
"It wasn't only you who had looked forward to this meeting, I have too. But your reasons are different from mine. I have come to announce to you that your downfall is about to begin.
You are one of the reasons why I return. The clock is ticking and your countdown has begun. I already told Leah Hayden your mother not to come anywhere near my kids.
You have terminated the ones that were yours. This one's mine. And if you dare to say a word of it to anyone or my dear parents, you never can imagine what I am capable of doing to you. Stay away from my kids!" Pamela declared.
Next, she stood up when Louis also stood up, "whatever happened between us, and whatever I have done to you, don't punish my parents for it, especially my mother.
Besides being your mother's 'bestie', she stood by you back that year and ensured that you have the right of a Mrs Hayden. Let her come near…" Louis was coaxing her.
Pamela was already going. Louis stopped her by holding her wrist. The scene of what happened that day played in her memory. The last and only time he held her wrist was followed by pain.
As swiftly as the time it takes to blink an eye, Pamela had turned and a pistol was placed on Louis' Adam's apple.
Louis just stood expressionless, staring at her. Had she also learnt mafia art? How did she do it? Looks like he had underestimated her.
He was thinking of raising his hands when Pamela kicked him violently and he almost tumbled over the chair he sat on a while ago. Pamela's pistol was pointed at him.
"If you dare to lay your hands on me ever again, I will drive a bullet into your skull. I'm dressed in black to mourn your downfall and destruction. Don't hasten it by dying before the deed ever begins" Pamela warned, and gently placed the Pistol in its place in the inner pocket of her cloak.
She offered Louis her hand for a handshake, "It was nice spending my evening with you. Pass my message to your mother" Pamela grinned evilly and walked away.
Louis Hayden's facial expression changed. He had been unguided in his interaction with her. He would be prepared for her next time.
He had thought to apologize to her and get things straightened out between them, but her new personality will not give him such a chance.
If it weren't for the kids and his mother's eagerness, he would avoid crossing paths with her. They both should live in their separate world. When a woman is driven by the intoxication to revenge, she wouldn't stop at anything until she satisfies her ego.
He will try one more time and if he doesn't get to talk to her like two adults should, he would ask his mother to forgive him by forgetting about anything that has to do with Pamela and the kids with her.
He would meet the kids but not yet. It wasn't going to cost him anything to get another woman for surrogacy. He might even decide to marry a woman on contract.
When Pamela left the resort, she stopped by the company and asked his assistant Vikrat Jeremy what are the updates on the assignment she assigned him.
"I have lured 80% of the investors on Hayden's group with a better partnership and it seems it's definitely going to work. I have also started attacking his shares.
By dawn tomorrow, he would have lost so much shares that he would not be able to rise in two years. His investors would have turned their backs on him, and he would either sell his company off with the little left or go completely bankrupt!" Vikrat Jeremy explained.
Pamela felt satisfied with the news. She had informed Louis about his downfall and now, he would wake up to his ruin. When he gets busy finding a solution to restore his company, he won't have the time to think about the kids.
His parents would be busy on how to salvage the situation that D4 will be completely out of their thoughts. This is how to keep some stubborn folks in check.
This is the one and only attack she would have on the Hayden's, Louis Hayden to be precise. This is the strength of his arrogance and the reason he treated her like a flea.
When he loses it, it will be over for him. When he's down, he would not be able to rise ever again, except she permits him to stagger up again.
"What about Lucas Wright?" She asked.
