Chapter 37: Chapter 37
The boy has no idea of what he was talking about except that he was scared of his hostility towards him. Rowland didn't say anything again till he got to Albert's school.
He gave a quick glance at the boy and saw him sniffling. Beads of tears were on his face and he ordered "clean those tears off your face, now!"
His voice was hoarse and domineering. Albert quietly cleaned those tears off with the back of his palm and watched as Rowland came over and opened the car for him.
As soon as Albert stepped out, he saw two of his friends and he ran off with his lunch pack, glad to have escaped the clutches of the bad man.
"Albert, is that your daddy?" One of his friends asked and the latter turned back and replied "No, he is not" and ran off his sight.
Rowland sneered. He doesn't want to have a child like him as well. But he would teach him a lesson that he would never forget.
Freddie refused to have anything for breakfast. Greg Freeman tried to talk him into taking a little but he refused. He sat on the floor of his room and hugged his knees like a child that was scolded.
He told Greg he doesn't have an appetite for food. His dear daughter that he raised has turned her back against him. She doesn't understand the reason why he supported the arranged marriage.
He meant her no ill. He just wants her to know that he still loves her and only thinks good for her.
Seeing that he was persistent, Greg promised to have a talk with his boss' family. They might be able to help in some ways
But unfortunately when Greg got to the Hayden Mansion, and asked Leah if she already knew that her daughter in-law was back in town.
But Leah's version of her encounter with Pamela left him speechless. This is not the niece that grew up before him. He had believed what Freddie said with a pinch of salt but now, he gulped the whole thing down.
This is a different personality from who she used to be. He definitely needs to pay her a visit and he hopes to do it soon.
Lucas had an appointment with his lawyer during the lunch hour. He needed to get through with the divorce. He can't stay entangled with a marriage that has taken all his hard work from him and now, is driving him crazy.
The lawyer agreed and said he was going to prepare the divorce procedure and inform him as soon as possible. He also assures Lucas that all his properties would be returned back to him because the divorce will be based on infidelity.
Emma had been pregnant with an illegitimate child and lured Lucas into a union he wasn't prepared for. And the height of it was she even dared to bring the father of her illegitimate child into her matrimonial home.
For that accusation to hold water, they needed to get evidence that her ex was living and sleeping in that house. He must get enough evidence to win against her and get back his properties.
Lucas thanked him and told him he would get the evidence as soon as possible. He could still return to the house, after all, he was still married to that casual woman.
When he got back to the office, he made up his mind to return to his cottage house after work. He wouldn't be going to the hotel that night, in fact, he had run out of money to rent a room.
He had bought the house two years before and moved out of the penthouse. He wants to live in his own fenced house with a gate and garden. He can't just let Emma send him out to wander around the city when he's got a home.
The best thing is to return to his house and pretend to be back and get the evidence he needed. He won't be moving out of the house again, after all, he would get his house and other properties back.
Nelly didn't stop stealing glances at him. After that incident in her house where Lucas found her cheating, he didn't make a single utterance to that effect when they got to the office.
Was he nursing a revenge in his heart against her? She's not to be blamed because he was Married and she knew he was cheating on his wife with her.
She cannot trust such a man. A man who cheats once, is bound to cheat again and again. She mustn't pitch her tent with such a man, it may bring her untold pain and heartbeat in the future.
She also knew she was wrong to have treated him like a pest the other day. He came suddenly, she wasn't prepared for him. He already told her goodnight and she called her fiance to come over.
How was she supposed to act when she saw him?. One of her men must have been offended that night and she thought that person to be Lucas.
Breaking up with him wasn't going to be a big deal after all, he was still married. But letting Phil go out of her life would hurt her very much.
He had recoiled back to being a quiet person. He had always been until they started dating secretly. Now that they have nothing in common, he has become who he used to be.
They may not have said the words to each other, but definitely they are no longer together. She wished she didn't pay him back with evil for everything he's done for her.
When they closed from the office, Lucas was the last to leave. He got his luggage and returned to his house. But at the gate, he wasn't allowed to get in.
The security at the gate was an unfamiliar face. Within two days, Emma already changed the securities? And the new one she employed wouldn't let him in.
Lucas became furious, he ordered the security to tell Emma that her husband was at the gate. How dare she give orders to prevent him from getting into the house?
The security squinted. Her husband? Is this man crazy or something? How can he claim to be the Madam's husband when the couple are happily having a great time in the house?
"You are mistaken sir, the madam didn't give me an order to prevent you from coming into the house but her husband did.
Sir employed me and gave me orders to prevent any man from stepping his feet into the house. So I guess this is not the right address you probably intended to come"
Lucas' forehead went blank. A new security who recognizes Rowland as Emma's husband and the owner of the house. Isn't it too early for him to usurp such authority?
And now, he is now the stranger that will not be allowed to step in. He has to remain on the other side of the gate while the one that was supposed to be the outcast, is seated cozily in his house and enjoying the warmth of his supposed wife.
"Inform Emma and Rowland that Lucas was at the gate" Lucas asked. The only way for him to get past this gate is when the two stinking fellows come out and find him standing where he was.
"Ok" the security shrugged and went towards the house. Lucas watched the retreating back view of the man going and an idea occurred to him.
Eventually, it was Friday night and Louis Hayden dressed up, he had a blind date with his ex wife.
