Chapter 34: Chapter 34
She glared at Louis in hostility. She glanced at a file and saw that the person she was to see was actually Louis Hayden.
How could she have been carefree not to know the fellow she was going to meet was this irrational guy. Anyways, he's here and they should get on to duty.
Louis came with a bouquet of flowers to say hello to Pamela on his first visit to her. He smiled and offered her the flower but the latter received it without a word of appreciation and right before him, she threw it in the trash bin.
Louis Hayden let his stare go along with her abrupt movement to the throwing away of the flower. His eyes twitched.
He booked this flower and let a horticulturist deliver it to his office especially because he was bringing it to her.
It's a flower but it's expensive. He wouldn't argue if the cost of the flower equals someone else's salary. And she couldn't even glance at it for once before throwing it in the trash bin?
It's demeaning to his personality. How can she not even be patient for him to leave before doing that. She hates him and he knows that, but she's making it glaring too early.
"Don't you like what I brought you?" Louis Hayden asked, hiding his unhappiness about her actions. He stood before her expressionless.
"Who asked you for it?" Pamela asked arrogantly and the next minute, returning to being professional "nice meeting you, Louis Hayden" she smiled faintly and offered her hand.
Louis took her hand and Pamela offered him a seat. He sat down and before he could say anything, Pamela's secretary walked, followed by a man who dressed shabbily.
Pamela raised her head and glanced at the secretary and the man that came with her, and she looked expressionless.
"Ma'am, this man forced his way here and we tried to stop him…" the secretary was saying when the man suddenly blurted "Pamela"
Louis Hayden recognized the man immediately. He is Freddie Grayson, Pamela's foster father. He looked unkempt like someone who hadn't had a decent meal in weeks.
Freddie Grayson was so excited to see his daughter after a few years. There was a time the Hayden family were looking for her.
Pamela just stared at the man expressionless and next ordered "Have the securities throw this beggar out. The next time he comes anywhere close to the P and D4 group, amputate him!"
Louis Hayden was shocked. She really said this about her foster father? Amputate him if he comes anywhere close to her company?
Freddie's smile disappeared. He glared at Pamela, sitting in front of him. He had come to meet the owner of the mansion that was erected in place of his house.
His lawyer tried pursuing the case and ended up giving up when they couldn't provide the property papers to their demolished building nor the document given them to sign.
The only way he can be listened to is when the owner of the erected Mansion gives him an audience. Otherwise, he could forget about it.
He made inquiries and was told a princess owns it and she's the CEO of P and D4 group. He had come with the hope that the woman would listen to his pleas.
But her bodyguards and security would not let him, hence he sneaked past them and the rest of the story was that he got into her office eventually.
But is Pamela the woman he had come to see? And why did she order him to be thrown out? That's too mean of a girl he raised.
"Pamela. It's me, your father. Don't you recognise me anymore? I am your father and not some kind of beggar…" Freddie was explaining when Pamela interrupted him sharply.
"I do recognize you, Freddie Grayson. But the one that did not recognize the other is you!. You fail to recognize the fact that your daughter Pamela Grayson is dead!
And the woman before you now only shares her first name with your late daughter. This is the heiress to the throne of Middletown royal family, princess Pamela Johnson.
So, do not make the mistake of confusing the one for the other. As it is now, I will not spare the death of Pamela Grayson and the rebirth of Pamela Johnson!"
The atmosphere became icy cold. Pamela's words were being dished out with authority and an aura of royalty. Her personality breathed respect and everyone present stood still while she talked.
Freddie Grayson was lost. Pamela is a princess and she even changed her last name? How come he didn't know anything about her new personality?
Pamela glared at Freddie in fury. The latter bowed his head. This is truly not the daughter he adopted and raised. His own dear Pamela is so meek and can hardly stand up for herself.
Rather than talk, she would run and hide under her quilt, sobbing. She wouldn't even raise her head to talk back at him or Freya. And Emma took advantage of her weakness and trampled upon her.
But this woman standing before him is nothing like his daughter. She shares the same resemblance with his daughter and has the same first name. But different personalities.
Anyways, he just wants to plead for his property back and if not, a compensation that would enable him to get himself a small place to live the rest of his life before his body gets consumed eventually by cancer.
"I humbly asked that you let me talk to you for five minutes. My house was demolished, and I wasn't compensated…" Freddie was trying to explain when Pamela interrupted him arrogantly.
"What has that got to do with me here? I am too busy to waste time on little trivia matters that have no means of promoting and adding progress to my company. Now, go and sort yourself out with the contracting company you have issues with"
"The house was brought down at your orders Pamela. You were deliberate about it, getting back at me and my family right? And you are not decent enough to buy it off but rather, twisted it out of our hands without as much as compensation. Tell me what you meant by that?" Freddie lost his temper.
There is a limit to what someone can take. His house was gone in one day and she pretends not to know a thing about it. This is too much of her.
"If you think your issues have got to do with me, sue me then or better still, get your lawyer to contend with me in court. As for compensation, you will not be getting it without a proof of fulfilment…" Pamela declared and raised her hand, indicating that Freddie should be taken away.
Louis Hayden watched as the older man was dragged out of Pamela's presence. He felt he would get a similar scenario in the near future. This Pamela is not someone to be toiled with at all.
He narrowed his brow and tried to analyze the scenario that played before him. Grayson's house was demolished at Pamela's orders and she erected Mansion in its place.
She didn't compensate the family that lost its house neither did she buy it off. She was deliberate in her actions.
Pamela turned to glare at Louis Hayden. "Can we proceed with your purpose of visit?" She asked, having a poker face. She's glad he witnessed what happened. He would experience the same thing in no distant time.
Louis Hayden sighed. He suddenly lost interest in what brought him. He glanced at Pamela and their eyes locked. For a few seconds, he stared at her, not blinking an eye.
His eyes were calm and tender. He was trying to make her see how sincere he had come to talk matters with her. He wants her to see he was not that temperamental guy she left five years ago.
"I have come to discuss business with you and talk about the relationship we.." Louis began, but he was interrupted.
"I don't talk about things not official and business related in my office. And if you want to talk about business with me, I am not interested. I want to overturn your company and not get into some kind of partnership with you" Pamela declared.
Louis chuckled softly. He glared at Pamela this time, not with a calm stare but a daring one. She won't dare him, no she can't. Because if she tries a game of nonsense with him, she would know how capable he was.
"If you have nothing else to say, I will have you excuse me. I have work to do" Pamela seethed.
"Oh no, dear ex wife. Not so quick. Let's talk about our kids then. The D4 in the P and D4 group" Louis announced, taking his position comfortably and grinning.
Pamela snapped at him sharply. "What!"
