Chapter 68: Chapter 68
As the junior left, she sighed and closed her eyes. She needs to peep and see what's happening in the outside World. Just a peep, she thought.
Seeing the queen was no longer in confinement, Alyana decided to go and see her. She knocked and said "It's Alyana, your majesty. I need a favour, "she said.
Clarion wasn't interested in seeing anyone, but hearing it's Alyana, she sighed and said she could come in. She was the grand nanny's personal maid.
Alyana walked in and kneeled before her majesty. She dared not raise her head to look, because her majesty was dressed in a night dress.
"Alyana" Clarion called, staring at her in calmness. What had she been doing after grand nanny died, had she been transferred to one of the concubines?
"May her majesty live ten thousand and ten thousand of years" Alyana replied. She still couldn't raise her head and look towards the queen.
"Rise" Clarion instructed. Alyana did and bowed her head. "Do you want a favour?" Clarion asked.
Alyana went on her knees again but Clarion raised her up this time and raised her chin to look at her "Speak" she instructed.
Alyana nodded and said "I have been waiting for over one month, since grand nanny passed away, to see you" She said and paused.
"Why have you been waiting to see me? Haven't you been assigned to work with someone else?" Clarion asked.
"I have, your majesty. I am now a maid to the second concubine" Alyana answered. The second concubine hasn't conceived yet. The first and third concubines are heavy with the royal seed, but she's still expecting.
She visits the king more often than the others, so she could also conceive and everyone is eager waiting for the day the news will break forth.
"Then what do you want?" Clarion asked. Does she have something important to ask her?
"I made a promise to grand nanny to see the princess as soon as possible. I want you to help me with her address. I haven't been to Oak city before" Alyana requested.
Clarion squinted. Address to Pamela's place in Oak City? Is it that serious? What is she going to see her for?
"Why did you want Princess Pamela's address?" Clarion asked.
"I am to deliver a message to her. Only to her and none else. If I don't see her, I will keep it and die with the message and secret" Alyana replied.
Clarion sighed. She nodded and said "Now listen to me, I will take you along with me to Oak city. No one must know that you and I talked about this, okay.
In a few days time, we'll leave. If I need to discuss anything with you, I will invite you to my chambers. Okay?" Clarion declared.
Alyana was happy. She was excited. She would be free to go without it appearing as if she absconded from work.
"Now, go back to sleep. I'll tell you when we'll leave" Clarion whispered.
Next morning, Louis went for a workout. It's been months and he hasn't returned to Oak city. He just doesn't feel like it. It seemed to him as if he is better in Turkey than Oak city.
Besides the occasional confusion he feels about not remembering anything, he feels alright. His love for Miranda Alvan had deepened and she would be due for delivering very soon.
His parents didn't call him to congratulate him on his wedding. Whenever he and his dad talked, he would simply ask him how he was feeling, his health and all of that.
He doesn't ask about his pregnant wife. He wouldn't even talk about his marriage nor ask him how he copes as a married man.
As for his mother, he hadn't really spoken to her in months. After he had a fight with her over ordering Miranda for an abortion, she seemed to stay away from him completely.
Things went on and soon , Pamela got a few jobs. She gives a consultation and gets paid. Her office was basically her study, she does the job, sends it to her clients and gets paid.
The income was not much, but it's something better than nothing. She would save for the birth of her baby. Her belly was getting bigger and her needs were getting increased.
One day, Ellis decided to check on Pamela Grayson. She's carrying his grandchild and they are now separated from each other.
He asked Leah about the expenses and bills for the children and she said Pamela had decided to manage it on her own.
He nodded and shrugged it aside. She has the annex cooperation. It would be enough to sustain them for now.
Leah couldn't bring herself to tell her husband that Pamela no longer presided over the Annex cooperation and besides, she refused to let her be responsible for the bills of the kids.
Leah regretted her actions. She wouldn't let Pamela be with Louis because, according to her, she's a toxic woman. But now, the woman whose case was worse than being toxic is married to her son and there's nothing she can do about it.
A devil known is way better than an angel unknown. At least she knows Pamela Grayson. She could scold and caution her, but Miranda Alvan is a she-devil.
She doesn't even have the courage to ask Pamela to bring her grandchildren to her. She cannot go over to her Mansion in months to see them. Her conscience was troubling her.
How she wished, she could turn the hands of time. She wouldn't have embarked on this dangerous deal. She wouldn't have created a rift between herself and her grandchildren.
When Ellis Hayden arrived at the Annex cooperation, the secretary sprang up hurriedly, she recognized him as the Father to President Hayden.
