Chapter 48: Chapter 48
Leah Hayden dashed into the office without waiting to be invited over. Pamela saw her and sighed. She glance at her secretary and said "you may leave us"
Leah glanced around the office. It looked good. This is definitely Louis' properties otherwise why would the company be called "Annex cooperation"
It's an Annex of the Hayden's cooperation. Last that she remembered, Ellis said the company went up for sale. They didn't know what happened except that a few weeks later it was changed from the stone cut group to Hayden's cooperation Annex.
This was definitely the reason Pamela stuck to her son. She was behaving like a woman of steel whose fist is made of iron initially when she just returned from Middletown City.
But soon, she was going after Louis like a tail. She got him and next, they claim to be getting married. If she hadn't intervened on time, she would have roped Louis and been called by the name Mrs Hayden.
"Good morning mom" Pamela greeted. She glared at the woman who went everywhere in the office, glancing everywhere except at her.
"I am not your mom, Pamela Grayson" Leah snapped at her and glared at her in hostility.
Pamela shrugged. It doesn't seem like she deserved to be called a mother though but Louis said she should call her mom because she's her mother.
"What can I do for you, Mom?" Pamela asked, calling her mom still. Leah eyed her and warned "This is the last time you will use that word for me. I am not your mom and I will not be interested in making you my daughter"
"It's not like it is convenient for me to call you that. Because the way you treated me doesn't deserve that I call you so. But Louis instructed me to call you mother because according to him, you are my mother too" Pamela declared.
"That's your problem. I don't care about whatever you choose to say. But call me Mrs Hayden. That title that you envied so much that made you throw yourself on my son" Leah bellowed and took a seat leisurely.
Pamela also sat down and waited. This woman didn't even notice that she's wearing blonde hair. She should know that she's become bald, thanks to her.
"You and I have a lot to talk about. First, this company belongs to Louis. He may not remember anything about it but I do. So, don't carry yourself with the air of its ownership.
I always protect my son's interests as a proper mother should. In view of that, you have two options: work for the interest of the company and I pay you wages or resign and leave my son's property" Leah declared.
Pamela was taken aback. She knew about the Annex cooperation then. Had she come to take it away from her? Louis bought it for the kids and asked her to preside over it.
As a matter of fact, she has the documents in her custody. Louis told her to keep it safe in case anything happens.
"I don't know why you said what you said. But do you have any proof to show that Louis Hayden, your son, owned this company?" Pamela asked and Leah laughed out loud.
"If you have stolen the documents to claim it's ownership, why didn't you get the copies with the lawyer too? I have duplicate copies of the documents and I saw my son's signature on it.
And I also learnt from the record that he got it for the kids. That's thoughtful of him, he's an explicit replica of his father. I would let you remain but you will work under strict supervision and besides an hour for lunch, you cannot miss work otherwise, I will not pay you for that month.
And if you think you can't work for the annex cooperation, you get up and get the fuck out of this office this minute" Leah outlined.
Pamela glared at this woman whose grandchild was growing in her belly. How can someone be this cruel? How can this woman talk to her like this as if she's not the woman whose mother was her 'bestie'.
"I'd rather resign than work under the strict supervision of you, Mrs Hayden, mom" Pamela slammed her fist on the desk.
A broad smile appeared on Leah's face. "Good girl. As a matter of fact, I came to drive you off. Thank goodness that you're making things easier for me" She chimed.
Pamela started picking her few things immediately. She isn't going to remain here and let this woman drive her into being a psychopath.
"Well, I can see that you are already getting prepared to leave. But you will wait until I'm done talking" Leah declared and adjusted herself properly before continuing:
"You should stop spreading negative rumours about my son and his fiancée. I heard you came to the office to accuse him of cheating on you!" Leah seethed.
Pamela's hands suddenly got suspended. This woman is mean. She would avoid her like a plague. She called Miranda Alvan her son's fiancée? Then what is she?
"How dare you shamelessly utter such words to my son? Louis Hayden is my son and I will not tolerate such nonsense again.
The next time you do that, I will ensure that I drag you in the marketplace by your hair and call you a home wrecker.
I already told you that you can't be my son's wife, you can't be my daughter in-law. So now that things have gotten into place, remain far away from him.
I don't want to see you around him. I don't want to see you 5km near my son. He is happy with his fiancée and that's what I want.
And what if he is having intimate moments with her, what the heck is your business? Who gave you a monopoly over Louis' body? Huh, you shameless bitch" Leah yelled at her and glared at her in hostility.
Pamela's eyes went teary and she glared at Leah as her tears ran down her cheeks. She was shivering, sniffling and couldn't find the words in her throat to utter.
It's in her mind, but her throat couldn't produce the sound that gives out the words. She was breathing hard, this is not good for the baby in her belly.
"As for my grandchildren, send your monthly bills to me, I will be responsible for it. They're my children even if you happen to be fortunate enough to be their mother" Leah Hayden added.
"Why did you hate me this much? What have I ever done to you to deserve this? Did I kill your child in our past life that you swore to make me pay for it in this life?
Even if you hate me more than the devil itself, what about your son? You know he loves me a lot. How do you not consider your son's happiness and let him be with the woman he loves?
You hired Miranda Alvan to be by his side and it worked. Now you call her his fiancée. What about this ring that Louis gave me in the sight of many witnesses? What do I call myself to him?
And to cap it all, you can't show kindness to the daughter of your bestie, simply because she's dead? You can't consider the good times you had spent together and how you wish to remain friends forever?..."
