His words made Pamela glance at him with tears. He had told her he couldn't make babies. He is sterile and this might indeed be a chance for him to know what it's like.

Pamela sniffled and covered her mouth with her palm. This world is not a balanced place. Someone couldn't make a baby but was eager to stay by the side of a pregnant woman and act as a stand-in father

While someone else who owned the baby is frolicking around with another woman. Human nature and life itself is dynamic.

Alice felt something was odd in Lucas' words. There is something that she hadn't known. And she feels like she's having a crush on him. She must find out.

Seeing that Pamela wasn't responding, Lucas was still worried, he held Pamela's two hands and said "You remember something I told you before, right?

I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I can't do anything to stop you from aborting this baby. This is something I longed for, I can't allow you hurt this child"

Pamela nodded.

"I remember Lucas. For that singular reason, I will have the baby. And if Louis doesn't return, I'll let you raise him as his foster father" Pamela Grayson promised.

Lucas' eyes welled up with tears. Pamela is the purest hearted woman he's ever known. She could promise him such a huge favour?

He let go of her hand and sniffled. His emotions got to him and said "excuse me" and walked away hurriedly.

He walked out through the back door and made sure he locked it, preventing anyone from coming over.

He covered his face with his palm and sniffled, his tears dropped "I love you, Pamela. I love you greatly. I wish I could make you mine and forget about Louis completely…" Lucas mumbled.

How can two people be suffering in love like him and Pamela? He loves her more than anything else in this world. He loves her and wishes at that moment, she can become his.

But he cannot have her. She cannot be his woman anymore. He is dying within, his love for her seemed to glow more with this incident with Louis.

She on the other hand is in love with Louis. Her Soul, body and mind is in love with Louis. He didn't even know that she and Louis were already doing it and now she's pregnant.

He wants to take away her pain, hold her in his arms and kiss that pain and heartbreak away. But it's impossible for him now.

He loves her but she loves him, she loves only Louis. "I love you Pamela, I swear I do," he mumbled.

Pamela sank into the sofa back. She glanced back when Lucas walked away. Her words had probably made him feel incompetent and he pitied himself for being a useless man.

She didn't mean to make him feel that way. She only wants to make him fulfilled by being her child's father. No strings attached. He is her ex fiancé and that's what he would remain forever.

She glanced at Alice and their eyes locked. The latter gently looked away and sat down. Pamela felt Alice knew something from the way she glanced at her

But whatever, if she is in love with Lucas, she wouldn't mind. Lucas needs a woman in his life at that moment. He can't remain in solitude simply because he couldn't make a baby.

She would observe Alice. If she's in love with Lucas, she would ask her to tell him that she loves him.

Days later in Middletown City, grand nanny's illness was getting everyone more worried and concerned in the palace.

King Tarvan visited her and asked the Royal physician to attend to her. She was giving some drugs and medication. But the grand nanny wasn't responding to the treatment.

One evening, she sent for her personal maid and told her to shut the door behind her. Alyana did and came over to sit beside grand nanny.

The old woman tried to raise herself to a sitting position, Alyana came over and helped her. She supported her weak wrinkled back with a pillow.

Grand nanny forced a weak smile and said "I want to share a secret with you. Are you worthy to keep and pass the secret to the rightful person?" She said in a soft tone.

"Yes, grand nanny" Alyana said, holding grand nanny's hand and assuring her that she needs not to worry.

Grand nanny nodded. She gently raised Alyana's hand and placed it on her head that is now covered with grey hairs and not a single dark one left.

"Promise me Alyana. That you will find the rightful person and deliver my message to her. May the dead visit you in their wrath if you go back on your words. So promise me" Grand nanny requested.

Queen Clarion had told her that she couldn't convince his highness to take Pamela back to the royal house without placing a condition attached.

And she's getting weaker everyday. It's time she rested her 89 year old bones in the Earth and went to meet her husband, the late king's friend.

She had no child of her own. Hence she offered to be a nanny to the royal children. Besides Alice, the Quadruplets, Alice's grandchildren were the ones she carried last.

But now she felt like she wasn't going to be able to see more royal seeds. She would do her best to ensure Pamela finds her paternal family.
