Chapter 38: Chapter 38

She wanted to ask him to explain about his past with her. Were they like dating or something? But she couldn't bring herself to ask too many questions. She's a doctor not a detective.

"Ask your questions, Alice," Lucas urged. He saw her hand suddenly get suspended and she was quiet like someone analyzing a statement.

The answer he gave to her question must have caused it. He would explain to her what his past was with Pamela.

"What?" Alice was dazed at what he said. He could guess that she has a question at the tip of her tongue.

"Weren't you contemplating on asking me a question? I had a past with Pamela but I married her sister. Ask me whatever you want" Lucas demanded.

"Yeah, you're right. I wanted you to explain what you meant by having a past with her and yet you said you married her sister" Alice requested.

"Pamela was my fiance at the time. But I had affairs with her sister and married her," Lucas explained scantily.

That part of his past was ugly and putrefying. But it's a part of his past and he can not run away from it anymore nor can it be erased.

Alice glared at him. He could say that out? Where did he get that courage? Many will hide that past and pretend to be an angel.

"You disliked me already, right?" Lucas asked, making a turn to go towards the last bend leading to Alice's apartment as she pointed to him.

"No. On the contrary, I see a unique person. This isn't something that many would be able to say out loud, especially to someone they just met.

I salute your courage. You're a great guy, Lucas. And that you were able to get back with Pamela as her friend is commendable" Alice raised a thumb up.

It's a kind of friendship between ex lovers. If she analyses it correctly, it would be friends to lovers and back to friends again. No wonder they bonded. Friends for the second time but lovers just once. She smiled.

"Thank you Alice," Lucas said, coming to a halt in front of her apartment. He glanced at where she lives and nodded, a penthouse befits a doctor like her.

Alice nodded. She wasn't in a hurry to get off. She asked again, "Does that mean you have a wife already?"

She likes him. How she wished he was not married. But alas, he is Married to her sister, Pamela's sister.

"Yeah, ex wife," Lucas declared. He has this feeling that her questions were coming from a heart filled with a certain kind of emotion.

"You are divorced?" Alice asked, a faint excitement appeared on her face. She quickly dismisses it before Lucas will think that she's excited that he is a divorcee.

"Yes," Lucas replied flippantly.

"Why did you leave her?" Alice asked. She wasn't going to ask him any more questions again. She is sounding like a detective already.

"She wants to leave. I also want it. It was mutual and we parted without having kids together" Lucas answered flippantly.

Alice nodded and wanted to get off but remembered something important again. "Sorry, just one last question. Are you dating someone now, a girlfriend or engaged to a lover?"

"No, I'm alone" Lucas replied and added "do you still have any more questions?" He chimed.

Alice shook her head and laughed. She held Lucas' hand and gave it a soft squeeze "Thank you for the dinner, the movies and the ice cream"

"Always welcome" Lucas said and waited for her to step out. He waited until she arrived at her door. She turned back and waved at him before stepping in.

Only then did Lucas zoom off in the direction of his home.

Miranda Alvan lingered and waited for Romeo to call her. She had given Louis Hayden an orange juice containing a sedative.

She had refused to allow the servants to serve him. Initially Louis frowned at it and said she shouldn't be doing that, the servants were paid to do it.

She claimed to love Louis and at this period in his life, he needed to have her full attention. It would help in quick recovery.

It wasn't long, Louis yawned. He stood up and went to lay on the bed. She took the quilt and covered him properly just as Romeo sent a text.

She read it and replied "On my way there" she changed into another dress and stepped out of the room.

Before Louis would be awake, she would be back. She got into her car and drove to the hotel. It was a popular hotel. She wondered why Romeo said he wants a place where no one would recognise him as Louis' assistant.

Anyways, that's not the issue. Room 580 was where she was to meet him. It's nice to have a taste of Romeo.

Is he as good as his boss? If he isn't, she would wear him out. She would ensure that she serves him well. It would pay for the cost of the things he would be doing for her.

It wasn't long, she took the elevator and arrived at the floor where room 580 was located. It's the last room at the extreme end.

She looked at herself and adjusted. That night would be hot. She knocked on the door and Romeo opened it.

He was dressed in a shirt and jeans. She expected him to have a slack on or better still have a towel around his waist. Is this man good at the stuff at all?

"Hi" Miranda Alvan chimed and wanted to hug Romeo but the latter raised his hand. Miranda frowned and was sceptical of the whole act.

"Calm down. We'll have time for that" Romeo assured and Miranda nodded. She threw her bag on the sofa and went to sit at the edge of the bed, seductively.

"Let's start already. I can't wait to feel your cock" Miranda declared winking an eye and blowing kisses at him.
