Chapter 116: Chapter 116

Susana couldn't put her emotions to check. She blurted out those words without thinking about it first. Her parents and daughter are seeking a tomb that never existed.

They're interested in talking to the dead who actually are still living and breathing like them. They thought of the living as if she's among the dead.

Why are they hurting themselves over nothing? She's not dead. The creator spared her. And yet the tears and pains of her loved ones still ascend up to him. Why bother the court of paradise over her while she's still in the human realm?

She's a mortal. A living human who breathes, lives and rests like them. But they are eager for a graveyard. What now? Susana was now sobbing.

Margaret was dazed. She glared at sister Susana. What is she doing? Does she want to reveal her true identity to her daughter?

Had she forgotten her vows, does she want to lose her divinity and allow the affection of men and women stand against her and her sacred devotion?

She needs to salvage the whole situation? She needs to think of something she can do quickly to twist everything up. She can't let her spill the beans so soon. There would still be plenty of time for that.

"What are you saying, Susana?" Pamela asked, she cleaned her tears and glared at Susana. What does she mean that her mother is not dead, does she know anything about her?

Sister Susana sniffled, unable to utter any word. Her face was soaked in sweat, but thank goodness that it's all covered with a veil.

"Yes, sister Susana was right when she said your mother is not dead. She's still alive because she lives with you. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and search your heart.

You'll hear your mother's heart beat. Her heart is beating for you. She loves you and watches over you. Stay calm and be happy, dear Pamela" Margaret explained hurriedly.

Pamela sighed softly and nodded. Though not convinced, she accepted it that way. What else did they know about her mother?

"Don't erect a grave in your heart for your mother, Pamela. You can't find a physical grave where her supposed body had been laid, why bother yourself so much?

I am equally urging you to let it go. Don't look for what doesn't exist. Your mother is still alive, living in you and seeing and watching over you.

You should be strong for your grandma. She needs a shoulder to lean on. Tell her that her daughter is not dead but she's still alive. Don't let her sob anymore, please Pamela, I am begging you"Sister Susana coaxed.

Pamela felt something odd about the woman. She talked in a tone of persuasion. She spoke in plain words but there are hard meanings to those words.

But since she couldn't find a clue, she nodded and swallowed hard. She forced a smile and said "Actually, I came visiting because you said you knew my mother.

But do you also know my grandparents? I mean you probably have met them once or twice with my mother" Pamela asked.

"Yes. I know Clarion Mom and Tarvan dad. I know every member of the royal palace that lived before you were born. I know every…" Sister Susana was going to say she knew Jimmy Johnson and every nook and cranny of the palace when Margaret interrupted her.

"And you know Alice Johnson as much as you know yourself. How amazing" Margaret chimed. She smiled but in her heart, she was screaming out loud that Susana was letting down her disguise.

"Exactly. If I say you should see me through the eyes of your mom's best friend, will that be too hard to ask?" Susana asked.

"No, I'll gladly accept the rare privilege. As long as you promise to take me down the memory lane" Pamela chimed.

"Of course. I will gladly do so, " Susana replied. She offered Pamela her card and said "don't hesitate to call me whenever you need someone to talk to or wants to visit"

Pamela took the card and placed it in her bag. She stood up and soon announced that she was leaving.

When Pamela stepped out, she called Fred Meyer. He probably would still be waiting for her. Quickly Fred Meyer answered the phone and told her to join him downstairs for a drink.

Pamela said okay and took the elevator to meet Fred on the down floor. Susana pulled her veil away and sniffled. Her eyes had gone reddened.

Louis got downstairs with his friends. He was taking them round the premises when he sighted Pamela and Fred Meyer, talking in low tones, having fun.

At that moment, Fred saw them but Pamela did not. She turned with her back to them. She didn't see her friends and Louis.

Fred Meyer took advantage of the fact that Pamela couldn't see those at the back that he seemed to cough slightly, deliberately allowing the wine in his hands to spill on Pamela's dress.

"Oh my gosh!!" Fred Meyer exclaimed. He got up and pulled out a handkerchief from his back pocket, wiping the wine off.

"I'm really sorry" he said, pulling Pamela up and forcing a hug on her as if he was apologising.

Louis observed the whole scenario and his eyes were bloodshot. He glared at Fred's actions, he knew he was deliberately provoking him.

Lucas held Alice's hand and swallowed hard. He knew that Louis Hayden was furious. The air around the four of them had suddenly gone compressed.

As Fred hugged Pamela, her lipstick robbed against his shirt. Louis couldn't take it, he walked over and yanked Pamela off his body and turned her to face him…
