Chapter 115: Chapter 115
"As much as I want to hold the fact that it wasn't my fault, I still blame myself for causing her so much hurt. She loves me as much as I love her.
How can I let her go through such pains? How can I hurt my own kids? I can't recognise Pamela neither do my children. My case was pathetic" Louis said, his breath rasping in his throat.
"Lucas is right. You couldn't help it. Someone you don't know or doesn't recognise, you can't treat her like a true lover.
Please don't blame yourself anymore. Pamela is not blaming you, but rather she'd been waiting for you to recover. Her arms are open, waiting for you to return to her and the kids" Alice assured.
"I'm afraid you are wrong. Pamela was waiting for me to break up properly. And she did that. The only thing that would keep Pamela and I in contact with each other are the kids.
In her words, she said we are each other's child's parents. She has moved on without me. And I don't blame her at all. I pushed her to the point where she no longer cared about her feelings for me anymore" Louis mumbled.
"Have you met her?" Lucas asked, alarmed. She really broke up with him?
Louis nodded. "Twice," he said quietly, barely loud enough for anyone to hear.
Lucas and Alice exchanged glances. They glanced at Romeo and the latter shrugged. Pamela pushed Louis away? Maybe she wants to punish him a little. She can't possibly mean the break up.
"I want to meet my kids privately, away from Pamela and Aunt Clarion. Will you make it happen, Lucas?" Louis asked.
Pamela felt uncomfortable at the way Susana left. Had she asked her a wrong question. She just wants to express how she felt when she saw him.
"Did I say something awful?" Pamela asked, looking remorseful at sister Margaret.
"Oh no, Pamela. You didn't. She probably feels that way because she knew Alice Johnson" Margaret gave a random excuse.
"Oh!" Pamela exclaimed softly. She glanced at Margaret and the latter smiled broadly at her.
Soon Susana stepped out looking refreshed. She walked elegantly back to her seat and smiled underneath her veil "Sorry, l let my emotions get a hold of me" she apologised.
"It's alright Susana. Anyone who knew my Mom would definitely know she was a great woman. I wish I could have her kind of courage" Pamela praised.
"Hmmm" Susana grunted and took the glass of fruit on the centre table and sipped from it.
Pamela also took her glass of juice and sipped from it before asking "You knew my mother, right? Tell me everything you know about her?
Because I don't know her besides her name and pictures. She gave birth to me and then gave up. That's what I learned. Please if you used to know her, please tell me what you know about her?" Pamela pleaded.
The only reason why she came was because the woman mentioned that she knew her mother. Otherwise, why would she set out to meet with strangers without telling her grandma about it?
"Yes, I know Alice Johnson. Until the last minute that she stopped being the princess of Middletown City and her soul dedicated to the creator.
But first, how is your grandma? Mrs Clarion Johnson and your grandfather too. Your grandfather is Tarvan Johnson, right?" Susana asked, raising her chin up, trying to hold her emotions in check.
How much she missed her mother. Words aren't enough to describe the vacuum in her heart. Her mom's doting affection cannot be replaced by anything else in this life.
But she's grateful to the creator who spared her, who gave this privilege of setting her eyes on her daughter again and being concerned about her parents.
She's glad they temporarily relocated to Oak city, Her husband Linus Freeman home country. Pamela grew up in her father's country. How fortunate she was that the creator took care of her daughter.
"They are fine, I would say. Grandfather is King now. My great-grandfather died a few months ago and he took over.
But my grandma is trying to be strong for me and my kids. My mom's death has for many years now plunged her soul in sorrow. She always finds convenient reasons to cry.
She blamed herself for my mom's death. She said her heart is heavy with guilt and she would readily give up her soul for my mother, if she could.
If I told her that I was coming to see someone who knew my mother, she would have insisted on coming along. She wants to meet whoever she can, who might know her and lead us to her grace" Pamela explained.
Susana sighed audibly. "Is she looking for Alice's grave?" Susana asked, fiddling with her fingers. So this is how things would indeed have been if she was really dead?
Would she have been able to know exactly how her Mom was feeling about her? Why is she broken after so many years? Why is her loving, doting mother doing this to herself?
"Not only her, but me. We've investigated, but couldn't find it…" Pamela trailed off and started sobbing "My Mom was a princess. How can she die and be thrown away without a grave?
How can they not give her a befitting burial? The man that was supposed to bury her suddenly disappeared. And ten years ago, he was found dead.
But tell me, do you know where my Mom was buried? Grandma and I long to go to see her. I want to talk to her for once in my life, just once.
I can't see her in my dreams, does she hate me for bringing so much pain to her and my dad? Grandma is broken and I am lost. Can you help me find her, can you lead me to her tomb?" Pamela held Susana's hands and sobbed.
Suddenly, tears dropped on her hands and Pamela glanced up at Susana. At the same time the older woman said "Your mother is still alive. She's not dead!!!"
