This was the first message to jolt me from my dreamland as I turned to my phone and jerking up in suprise.checking the alarm clock beside me which was 8:am.. I groaned grumpily

I thought I was being grounded? So why is my phone beside me after four good weeks of seizure and most of all why is dad, mum and Suzy singing this lame song beside me.... Okay pause

Today is valentine's day and that's probably the reason why I'm waking up by 8:am and besides school had been thoughtful enough to give us a free day today and also today was my freaking birthday

I rubbed my temples drowsily, why didnt I remember this on time??? I smiled at mum, dad and Suzy singing. I was actually grateful that they remembered so I had joined in their singing and thereafter, embracing ourselves in a bear hug as dad placed a soft kiss on mum's temples while suzy and I got our's on our cheeks

" dad this isn't fair nau "I pouted as mum glared playfully at me

" goan brush fiss before you begin planning how to steal my husband " she retorts as suzy giggles

" ahh... Let me give my daughters s proper kiss sef " dad replies feigning annoyance at mum's overprotective style and while I leaned in further to get a kiss from dad, mum etched her brows as I smirked at her making her roll her eyes

"Shebi..you're satisfied now? Oya come and start going " she whines while dad tugs her cheeks playfully

" stop being jealous"he says smirking at her as her expression widened

" oh so now....am the one being jealous na ? " she asked gently pushing him away " you'll still come and find me...go joor "

Dad leans on my door smiling like he won a gold carat as he yells " I love you "

" no...you love your daughters more than me abi, it's them you married?" She retorts ...

Dad glances at suzy and i to catch us grinning like fools at their little display of PDA

" no nau...I married you..but you're main chick while these ones are just side chicks "dad says as I burst into laughter while suzy held her chest pretending to be hurt

" ouch...dad...you've broken my heart " she says while mum smiles at her triumphantly.just then my phone beeps

" hey...dad...do you all know what today is ? "I ask widely with a smile as everyone draws their attention at me

" today is Valentine day " dad replies as I creased my brows

" I know "I said slumping my shoulders

" and that's why you have your phones back anyway " he adds and I smile

" oh well...today is lent as in the beginning of good friday " suzy replies snickering as I roll my eyes at her

" you kill joy " I retort as mum's expression quickly lightens as I nod my head expectantly urging her to c'mon

At least she'd remember today's my birthday

" today is friday and the prize of crayfish would definitely come down today " she replies as I sag my shoulders sulking

" uh...uh...okay fine.." I replied

" what's today Christy ? "Suzy asks innocently as I shot her a glare

" well..today as you can see is friday, the beginning of Lenten season which happened to fall on Valentine's day and when the prices of crayfish is going to drop down....what a blessed friday " I smile gloomly as suzy nods her head

" okay...seems like today is packed anyway...catch you later "she says skiddaling out of the room behind mum and dad who shared a kind of look at me as they turned to leave

I groaned out in frustration...how can everyone forget today??? I pick up my phone to meet 20 missed calls from different individuals and 10 messages which all sang to me a happy birthday dearie.

I scroll through looking for chris's message and call and when I didn't see any I decided to go online. 100msgs from 40 chats on my wattsap, 10 new msgs from my Facebook and not to talk of my instagram...

Going through my wattsap messages first I open the one from my besties group chat

I chuckled going through each message. The girls were just crazy.but it was heartwarming that they remembered my birthday....I scrolled further...realising that there were no missed calls from Chris not even messages..

I felt my stomach churn...did he bother not calling cause dad had seized my phone? Just what would have been the problem??? I tossed my phone aside as I grunted before taking my time to head out of my room

Fast forward to 3: 03 pm, after a usual routine of house chores and lazyin around...I had called chris a thousand times and he still wasn't picking up.earlier when I called shola, she said I shouldn't bother about it so much...so I had come out to go to spa..and from there to the hair salon so I can prepare for the party by 4.I already told mum and dad about it and surprisingly they agreed but I just told them it was for a party and not a birthday one since they all decided to forget about it....

" suprise!!! " mum called as soon as I stepped into the house which was lighted with birthday decorations and all as dad sang happy birthday song. I broke into giving them a hug

" I thought y'all forgot " I whined

" how can it happen " dad said muffling my hair

" suzy says shola and friends are throwing a party for you." Mum says as I glare at suzy.how did she know about it.suzy shrugged sticking out her lower lips making me roll my eyes at her. Thankfully, mum and dad allowed me to go for my party after blessing me with their many prayers and gifts...

I rush into the room to see suzy picking out my outfit

" hey lady " I say as she hands me a wrapped gift as I tear the gift open anxiously she sneers at me

I smiled at her as she arranged my hair some more and did my light makeup

So much for expecting to see him on a tuxedo

You maybe wondering if I had finally gone nuts...maybe I have cause today isn't such a good day like I expected but anyways let's rewind to what happened 30 minutes past...

As expected, Andrew had picked me up from my home and he complimented my outfit. In fact my looks and I so much appreciated it...like who wouldn't?

Every girl likes a compliment even if it was from the least soul of mankind's history and well Andrew was.but I had smiled when he said I looked gorgeous and from there we talked on and on about random issues. He also told me how hard it was for him to locate my house after all my direction so he had to use the Google map

We talked, laughed and talked again. But one thing was so damn wrong...Andrew didn't know today was my birthday cause I never told him

But anyways, he still sang a happy birthday song to me while wishing me a happy val.then he specifically said he was going to spend the whole time he had with me....

Okay I know you think I'm a cheater just because Chris isn't around...don't lock me up yet in a physco clinic. Just here me out

All the while I thought about chris but it was a painful realization that he was never going to show up

What if he left already

No he couldn't, we aren't done with final exams yet

Still...he's parents were rich.so they could do and undo my subconscious argued as I groaned loud in frustration making Andrew suddenly interested in me

" what's wrong? "He asked. Not like I would tell him I'm busy thinking about some other guy.so I replied instead

How to end today with a huge sleep not without eating suya and exchanging my worried personality with that of an angel who turned out to be the only sane person alive

But instead of saying these I chuckled " nothing really...today's going to be just great " he smiled

The party turned out to be in full swing. Bubbie screamed my name loudly and shola made everyone to stop whatever they were doing even the dj and focus the spotlight on me as I unknowingly strutted inside the venue and then kemi popping up balloons and birthday ribbons as they all sang a happy birthday song to me....I was as shy as hell...why would shola freeze every activity for people to focus on me

Maybe I just realized I'm not a social lover much or maybe I'm nervous about gwad knows what?

But fudge...am the celebrant so yeah all eyes gat to be on me

Soon after my besties and i chatting and people coming over to wish me birthday lucks and dropping their gifts. Bubbie was off to talk with Damien...that's a progress kemi and Ayomi were at each other's throats Ayomi being kemi's perfect wizard to piss her off in a romantic way.And shola....making sure everyone enjoyed the party by hopping from one place to another to either flirt or talk randomly.

Andrew and I were busy dancing to davido's song " Risky " And then we were tired when he offered to get us a drink while I wait for him. I didn't have a problem with it until it was past 25 minutes and he still wasn't back..I stood up cutting my conversation with loud-mouthed bayo to check on him

And damn!!!! He was making out with tracy he's girlfriend or ex I don't even know. But it was maddening to tell me to wait and then go over to make out..I breathed in and then out when a waiter passed by holding four glasses of smoothies. I quickly picked one walking straight to the duo not knowing what I was going to do but I knew I was mad.plus seeing Helen smirk at me wasn't helping one bit as I strolled over to the make-out couples

" Hi Andrew " I say in a light pretty voice fazed with a faux fakest Guinness book of record smile as tracy pulled away reluctantly

" uh....huh...hi christy " he replied embarrassed and suprised as I smirk at him

" Happy val douchebag " I say emptying my glass on him leaving suprised gasp along not sparing a glance at tracy. I was already exhausted to sob cause I don't even know why I'd do that

As I strutted out trying to keep a straight face and my besties shouting " YOU GO GIRL " at me Helen deemed it necessary to annoy me by obstructing my path

" Bitch!!!" She scowled and i scoff

" didn't ask you about your name duh" I reply with a satisfied smirk as her face turned pale. I wanted to say more but I got better things to worry about as I make my way to a sit out in sherry groove to enjoy nature's blessing and try to clear my thoughts

Just when a raspy and sexy voice which I had grown used to over almost a year now calls out making my cool nature idea hang while disrupting the little sanity I had left..
