Chapter 75: Chapter 75
Chapter 75
Sansa's Pov
Back in time: a few hours ago
"I will tell you about the way out in exchange for something from you," Vera said with a grin, knowing I was curious about what she would say.
That was the biggest mistake I'd ever made, the worst mistake of my life. She was playing with me when her tricks blinded me. Was that a spell cast on me, or was I willing to play the fool and be used by her?
Suddenly, creatures burst through the door and raced toward me. My heart was racing, and I didn't have anywhere to hide at the time.
"You have 30 seconds to decide," Vera said with a grin, leaving me with no choice but to fall into her trap.
"I can't make any decisions because it's not in my hands, and I've already made a mess," I explained, fearfully breathing heavily as creatures rushed towards me.
"Everyone makes mistakes, but that doesn't mean you never make decisions," Vera explained.
"Xavier is here; you can speak with him." I was looking around for a way out when I realized it was too late.
"Why? You have the power to make decisions. Aren't you the pack's Luna?" Vera inquired.
I had nothing to say and nothing to prove because I was not a member of the Oak Pack. I was just pretending to be Xavier's wife, and I was curious as to why Xavier was lying about our wedding to everyone.
On the other hand, I was relieved that Xavier had not yet married me, and I didn't want to get involved because I had other plans to disappear.
Both creatures jumped over me to eat me in one bite. I held my breath, my heart skipped a beat, and I closed my eyes. When I had no other option but to flee, I covered my face in fear. When I chose the darkness over the cruel reality,
"All right!" my voice trembled as I breathed heavily. Fear made my legs shiver.
In the deep silence, my breathing became more audible. Untouched and unharmed, I was intrigued by the attacking creatures who were about to harm me.
I slowly opened my eyes, stunned to see the creatures floating in the air. They looked like floating bodies.
"I didn't mean to scare you, but you were the best target to kill them, and I just interrupted their entertainment," Vera politely explained.
"What exactly do you want?" My voice was still trembling. I had been traumatized.
"I'm tired of being here alone; I need to stretch my legs," Vera said, noticing that I couldn't understand her. "Take me out," she said.
"Is that a new move? Do you have any plans to get me in trouble? Aren't you glad to get me in trouble? Ray became guilty solely because of me," I was emotional, and the guilt was killing me on the inside.
"That wasn't your fault; it was my game, and I took advantage of you. That's all. I got what I wanted thanks to you "Vera said
"Stop using me; I won't trust you to make another mess," I said as I began to walk away.
"Do you want to meet more dungeon creatures in the next few seconds?" In her sweet voice, Vera threatened me.
"Stop threatening me," I said as I turned back to face her.
"I wanted to spend more time with you, but I think you don't like the sight of me," Vera charmingly said
I gave her a cold stare as if I despised her for manipulating and threatening me.
"I promise I'm not going to run; just a few minutes of fresh air; I'm missing the sky," Vera explained.
"What if you flee?"
"I can control things even from the dungeon; I'm still here because I chose to live here; no one can keep me here," Vera asserted confidently.
She had a valid point, but why did she need my assistance to get out when she was so powerful?
She could flee and hide wherever she pleased, but what was her reason for remaining? I was on the lookout for anything suspicious.
She was skilled at pursuing.
Regardless of how much I denied it, I was curious about the way out of what she was always talking about.
I was able to kill two birds with one stone. The pack members were dying as a result of the creatures, but she had control over the situation. I wasn't sure if she was telling the truth or a lie when she was about to reveal the way out.
"Why don't you just go out on your own?" I inquired.
"Who would I tell about the secret door if I came out on my own?" Vera was playing her cards correctly.
"Tell me about that," I demanded, knowing that she needed me and that this was my only chance to get what I wanted.
"Why are you so eager to leave here? Is Xavier being unkind to you? You both got married in love, didn't you?" Vera teased.
She shot the arrow, but I was the one making sure it didn't go through the center.
"You can stretch your legs inside the dungeon and fantasize about the sky, which you no longer miss. Isn't it true that you witches have a strong imagination?" I teased her and threatened her in a roundabout way.
"You are not the person you appeared to be," Vera teased me sweetly.
"I don't have a dual personality to confuse others but Some of them have two minds about studying me and are still unable to understand me. That's too bad." I teasingly sent Vera back when she realized I had the authority to let her out or keep her in.
"You are not innocent," Vera abruptly stated.
Her suspicious eyes were fixed on mine as if she were studying me; was she aware that I had attempted to murder Xavier multiple times?
Why did it appear that she seemed to know everything? Or was she just playing with words?
"Are you?" I was asked.
"Let's get back to business, the man you just saved has a hidden door inside his room; find it and buy your freedom; nobody knows about that secret door; you're the lucky one," Vera revealed the secret that I had been dying to learn.
"What if it's a fabrication? What if there was no door at all?" When I wasn't sure about her, I asked.
"If you run, hide, or die, I have nothing to do with it; why would I lie to you when you are no longer useful to me after this meeting?" Vera explained.
I started breaking the door down, but nothing was working. I suddenly realized I was carrying a pistol in my pocket that I had forgotten to use in front of the creatures. I took the pistol from my pocket and aimed it at the lock.
"Do you understand how to use it?" Vera inquired.
"This is my first time, but I'm good with the aims," I explained.
I pulled the trigger, and the sound affected my ears while my hands shivered, and I was shocked to use it for the first time. My heart was about to burst. Fortunately, my aim was perfect, and I was able to break the lock.
Several hours later
I was being held like a criminal
for taking Vera out without Xavier's permission. stood outside the mansion garden when the rest of the pack was standing.
Xavier announced a trial without regard for the injured pack members or the destroyed mansion.
Ray was also present, but I couldn't look at him without feeling guilty.
"How long do you intend to control her body?" Xavier inquired.
"It's not her body; it's our body," she says. Vera was irritated.
"When will I be able to meet Hina? I have a few questions." Xavier stated
"Why would you want to wake her when she is sound asleep?" Vera was having a good time.
On Xavier's gesture, Adam suddenly placed a blindfold over Vera's eyes from behind while she was struggling but could take off.
"What are you doing?" enraged Vera.
Adam was still holding the blindfold tightly when she struggled to remove it. Ray was concerned about Hina, which I used to suspect.
"Let me go; I'll destroy you all," Vera yelled angrily.
"Hina, I know you're listening to me; it's not your fault; speak up; I'm here to listen. You can tell me your side of the story—-" Xavier was saying something softly, but Vera cut him off in the middle.
"You cannot act in this manner! You're not H—-." Vera became enraged, abruptly came to a halt, and Hina's voice broke, "I am afraid."
"What are you scared of? Are you afraid of the culprit?" Xavier inquired.
"I'm afraid of Vera," Hina said, her voice breaking.
Everyone felt her pain, but no one could help her through her ordeal with Vera. Hina was tortured by her, who wanted to take over her entire body.
Adam removed his hands from the blindfold, but Hina did not because she was comfortable being blind and not facing anyone.
"You are stronger than she is, and she will not be able to take over easily. You are the sole proprietor of your body." Xavier motivated her.
"I am weak, and I know that one day I will be lost, and Vera will be the owner of this body," Hina was crying silently
"Tell me what happened, from the start," Xavier said to Hina
