Chapter 74: Chapter 74
Chapter 74
Xavier's Pov
I had never felt so hopeless in my life as I did on that day. The creatures were causing harm to pack members, so I kept thinking about a solution as more creatures attacked us.
The pack members were all exhausted, but the creatures refused to leave. It had been hours, and we were losing hope of victory.
"Aim for the head!" When Jerry was aiming a gun at the creature as it got closer to him, I yelled one last time while sitting helplessly in the wheelchair.
When I realized we were wasting our energy by believing we could face the most dangerous and immortal wild creatures, things were getting out of our hands.
Jerry fired his final shot, but the creature was unharmed. White wild bears were immortal and untouchable, and they would not feel pain no matter how they were attacked. The creatures from the west were the most dangerous in the world, and I never expected to meet them at my worst.
Maya's mountain army was similarly powerless. The creatures were seizing power.
When the pack members threw the guns on the ground and pulled the silver knives from their pockets, I noticed that all of the bullets had been wasted.
"Why aren't they dying?" a panicked Hamza inquired.
"They are immortals," Maya lamented.
"What should we do now?" Jerry was wondering why he was constantly dodging the creature.
When they all turned to face me, waiting for my decision, I was speechless; Vera was not accepting that responsibility; asking her more would have given her more power; she was expecting an alpha to beg her to save his pack.
"We will fight!" Adam said this while using his sword to attack a creature.
"We simply cannot! It's been hours; how much longer do we have to play with them?" Kris inquired as to what caused the creature to pursue him.
"Let's go underground for a while," Eric said as he made small cuts on the creature, which appeared unaffected by his attack.
"That wouldn't solve anything," Martin said as he dashed towards the tree and climbed it in seconds to escape the creatures.
Creatures were unable to climb the tree when all of the pack members were resting on the trees after a long battle.
When they expected me to give them orders, I was speechless in my wheelchair.
"We must not give up hope; we must fight until the end." When Adam's voice became mingled with the screams of the creatures, he attempted to motivate them.
"We don't know when it will end; we just can't keep going because we keep coming back to the same place, and there is no way," Ajay explained.
"Can you tell me what we should do?" When Ajay became hesitant, Adam inquired.
"I am requesting from Alpha that he be the one to make decisions," Ajay said nervously.
I had no words for the first time, and I had no idea what to do—was I weak and broken, or was there no way out but death?
Creatures appeared out of nowhere to harm me. I lacked the courage to move. They were close enough to kill me with a single blow.
My boys jumped down from the trees on the creatures and didn't let them touch me as they attacked.
A few of them were badly hurt, and the creatures rushed over to me. I was too frail to defend myself.
They were all injured on the ground, and I was the only target for the creatures. They were all running towards me with no one to stop them.
They all attacked me at the same time, but they couldn't touch me because they paused.
I was astounded at how. Why? They were all paralyzed and began to shiver as their eyes darted left and right.
Something was wrong with them when they all started walking away at the same time. They appeared to be hypnotized.
"Wait, what just happened?" Jerry, like the rest of us, was taken aback.
"Where are they all going?" Eric was intrigued as they all walked westward without injuring each other.
"They are under the spell, and Vera is controlling them," Maya said.
They were all moving like dead bodies; they had forgotten their targets, and they were all under Vera's spell.
"Take me back to the mansion," I requested of Edward.
When Maya and Adam started following the creatures with other pack members to get answers, Edward pushed my wheelchair.
I was terrified of what might happen inside the mansion while Vera was still in control of the creatures. My heart was pounding, and my curiosity was growing.
"Sansa?" looking over at her as she stood behind the tree.
I started pushing my wheelchair faster, and I forgot Edward was pushing it. For a while, seeing her entire dress covered in blood drove me insane.
As I reached for her, I mustered the courage to approach her from behind while she was unaware of my presence.
When I turned her shoulder to face her, she jumped in fear, thinking I was the wild creature who had come to hunt her. I was concerned as I observed blood all over her face.
"What's the problem? Who was it that did this to you? Who harmed you?" I asked, putting both hands on her face, worried as I had never been before.
My heart was not in my control, no matter how hard I tried to control and hide my emotions in front of her.
Something was wrong with me those days, something that had never happened before, her slap still fell on my cheek, she made me feel like the world's lone Alpha.
worrying about her was out of my hands; and even if I denied giving her my attention, my heart was no longer listening to me.
"I'm fine," Sansa said slowly as she took my both hands away from her face, refusing to let me touch her as she always did.
I came to my senses when I realized we were both nothing more than strangers. She despised me in every situation, and I was going insane whenever I saw her on those days.
My attention was drawn to Vera, who was standing in the center, casting a spell, when her full white eyes were fixed on the sky and lightning struck her while she was whispering.
"What exactly is she doing out here?" I asked Sansa
Sansa remained silent and avoided making eye contact with me. I was aware that Sansa was involved in the situation.
"I'm asking, Are you the one behind it all?" When Sansa appeared nervous, I grabbed her arm tightly in rage.
"Aren't you relieved to be saved?" Sansa spoke hesitantly.
"Who gave you the authority to remove her from the dungeon?" I was very upset with her.
"Isn't she a luna from the Oak Pack?" Vera teased me.
My attention was drawn to Vera, who was approaching me with a grin on her face. I challenged Vera to get out of the dungeon, and she was right there in front of me, using Sansa to do so.
When Vera won the challenge because of her, I pushed Sansa's arm away. She gave Vera authority and worth.
"You said to find your way out, and I did; I expect my request to be granted," Vera said with a grin, relishing the opportunity to tease me.
When the pack members walked around and looked at Vera, they interrupted our conversation.
"They went west, and we closed the gate; it's safe now," Adam explained.
"I thought you'd have fun, but you look terrified," Vera teased.
"What do you want, Vera?" irritated Maya inquired.
"Maya, I haven't seen you in a while, you look tired from fighting those creatures," Vera teased Maya.
Maya was enraged, but she remained silent for the sake of the pack's safety.
"What did you ask her in return?" I inquired of Vera.
"Nothing much, just a few steps to get some fresh air out here, but I saw you all dying, and—" Vera teased, but I cut her off in the middle of her sentence.
"What made you do that? What do you get in return?" I asked Sansa a serious question.
"Everyone was dying in the mansion, losing lives, and I had no choice but to get her out," Sansa said fearlessly, looking into my eyes.
"I did my part; now it's your turn," Vera said.
"Seize her," I ordered
Everyone was crowding around Vera, blocking her path, and Edward and Hamza were tightly gripping Vera's arm as she struggled. Like a fish shivering in the absence of water.
"Not her," I said coldly.
When all of their attention was drawn to Sansa. They were all hesitant to go against their Luna, which was unexpected.
"What has taken you so long?" I yelled.
They all surrounded Sansa, and Edward clutched her arm tightly. Sansa appeared unsure.
I sat back in the wheelchair when I ran out of energy to stand any longer. From behind, Adam was pushing my chair. When we were all going to the mansion.
Nobody ever dared interfere with my decisions or my affairs, but Sansa took Vera out against my will; she had no idea how much trouble she was causing me.
We arrived at the mansion, which had been destroyed; all of the broken glass was on the floor, and the creatures had destroyed the furniture. I noticed that the majority of the pack members were severely injured.
My entire body was paralyzed by the thought of Levine when I assumed that Levine could be dead by now because the living couldn't protect themselves, so how could Levine be alive?
I was having a panic attack when I thought about Levine, so I stood up and began walking. Levine's room was upstairs, and the floor was littered with broken glasses. Which was difficult to cross.
I fell as I took my first step forward, but Amara rushed over to catch me. "I'm glad you're safe," Amra said, her face terrified.
"Levine? I... " I couldn't say anything because I was picturing him as dead.
"He was saved because Sansa protected him and killed the creature that was inside his room," Amara explained in a single breath to console me.
Amara assisted me in repositioning myself in the wheelchair. "They're gone; the west gate is now closed," she was looking at Edward when he informed her.
Amara kneeled and looked up into my eyes. "Everything is fine here Xavier, I want you to take care of yourself, we need you, the Oak pack needs you," Amara's soft voice comforted me when I was dying and needed someone to comfort me.
Sansa entered with the rest of the pack. Her sharp eyes were fixed on me. She despised me even more now. I couldn't figure out why I was acting the way I was. It was complicated, and she would never have understood.
"As you can see, the mansion is not available to begin a trial; it will be in the garden; I don't want matters to be unsettled any longer," I announced as everyone was taken aback by my unexpected announcement.
On my command, they all gathered in the garden. standing while watching the trial
"Let's get started," I said.
