Chapter 73: Chapter 73

Chapter 73

Sansa's Pov

I dashed over to see if he was still alive. I extended my hand to see if he was still breathing, but then I paused to observe him. I had no idea what was wrong with me, but touching him felt like a crime to me.

I had never felt anything like this before. There was something wrong with me. I had no response. I slowly removed the blood-splattered sheet from him and extended my hand toward his nose to see if he was still breathing.

Suddenly, he grabbed my wrist and leaned in close to my face, his eyes wide open. My eyes were wide open, staring at him. My heart was racing, and electricity was coursing through my veins. His scent was distinctive. It was extremely addictive.

He seemed to want to talk to me, but he wasn't in the condition. as his grip on my wrist tightened. At the same time, I was terrified by the way he was staring at me. Slowly, he returned to the pillow and became unconscious again, his hand leaving my wrist.

"Come to me," Vera abruptly began to whisper.

I started running downstairs. I couldn't help myself; that was the moment I felt it was right to meet Vera.

"Where have they gone?" I inquired as to why there were no creatures in the mansion.

"They're all outside chasing Bella; we need to shut the door right now," Ruth stated.

"Are you all right?" Amara inquired as she noticed my bloodied body.

"Yes, look at the Levine; he's protected," I said as I walked away from her.

"However, where are you going?" Amara inquired.

"Wait for Bella; don't close the door on her and don't worry about me," I said.

They were about to close the main door when I started running outside. On my way to the dungeon, I noticed Bella and other pack members shooting arrows at them.

My gaze shifted to the other side, where more creatures continued to approach the mansion. As one of the creatures pursued me, I began to run toward the dungeon. I didn't have time to catch my breath.

I shut the gates as I entered the dungeon. I was looking at nothing but darkness. I walked in the dark, trying to find any light inside, and my soul shivered when I heard the sound of the door coming from behind me as the creatures tried to break in.

I discovered an already-lit lantern hanging near the cell. Without further ado, I grabbed the lantern and turned to walk ahead to find Vera.

"What makes you so unique?" her voice reached to my ears as my presence irritated her

I returned to observe, but the only darkness I saw was inside the cell. As she walked near the bars, her face was revealed in the light of a lantern.

"You're just a filthy human," Marina said to me.

"You're still dying to suck my blood; you're craving it uncontrollably," I teased her, and when they came for my blood, Xavier cut my hand.

"Humans are our adversaries; why does he love you?" Marina was both inquisitive and playful with me.

"Did not you ask him?" I was about to leave when I teased her.

"You will be defeated! Xavier is mine, and I will take him from you," Marina stated emphatically.

"I'm not interested; if you want to take him, go ahead; I won't mind," I said.

She was staring at me, unsure whether I was making fun of her or genuinely saying that to her.

Which wife would ever say that about her husband to another woman? She was attempting to study my mind while I was simply stating that I did not want Xavier in my life.

"I will make him mine," Marina declared.

"You can have him," I said with a grin as I walked away from her.

I didn't ask, but she told me why she was there. She had come to see Xavier.

What was her plan to get close to him? Something terrible was about to happen.

As creatures began to break down the dungeon's door, I jumped. I began to run forward, not knowing where Vera could be.

I came to a halt while walking over a cell filled with bright lights. Vera was hanging upside down from the ceiling, her eyes full of white, and she was whispering. I was slowly walking over the bars, making no noise.

"Look who came, a lady of justice, what are you doing here?" Vera inquired, her voice deep.

"A witch of manipulation invited me," I explained.

"Oh, you heard me! I assumed I was speaking to myself "Vera was giggling.  "Isn't it true that we have such a strong bond?" Vera was beaming.

"Yes, we do, and I recognize you even more now than before. You can't make me a fool anymore."

"When did I do that?"

"Stop playing with me," I inquired.

"How could I?" Vera stated

"You had me do a trial for you so you could—" Vera interrupted me.

"You started a trial for Hina's protection, didn't you? Or was there another explanation?" Vera mocked me for striking a deal with her.

I couldn't speak because she was correct; I wanted to find a way out because she said she would. I trusted her blindly to escape when she was using me.

"You lied and used me to start a trial so that you could do whatever you wanted. And you did it; you didn't want to find a culprit, you just wanted to keep Ray involved." I disclosed The reality

"I am grateful for your assistance, but I also wanted to reward you. I will tell you about the way out, but I need something from you," Vera said with a smile.

That was the biggest mistake I'd ever made, the worst mistake of my life. She was playing with me when her tricks blinded me. Was that a spell cast on me, or was I willing to play the fool and be used by her?

Suddenly, creatures burst through the door and raced toward me. My heart was racing, and I didn't have anywhere to hide at the time.

"You have 30 seconds to decide," Vera said with a grin, leaving me with no choice but to fall into her trap.
