Chapter 53: Chapter 53
Chapter 53
Adam's Pov
To the south of Demacia, our private jet touched down near the camp. Xavier was walking towards Kevin, who was already standing and the rest of the pack was waiting for us. while I was walking behind Xavier, holding Marina's handcuff chain.
Kevin's face was surprised to see Marina with us; was he not expecting her? Or was he completely unaware of her presence in our midst?
We thought Marina was setting us up until we met Kevin. We had a lot of questions and were very curious.
"Xavier!" exclaimed Kevin as we approached him.
"What exactly are you doing here?" Xavier inquired.
"The Nightwalker pack has Levine." Kevin avoided making eye contact with Xavier.
"I did not send you here on the Nightwalker pack's territory," Xavier explained.
"I know, but I end up here," Kevin explained.
Xavier was irritated because Kevin was not providing him with all of the information he expected.
"Take the lady to camp; she must be tired," Xavier said, still staring at Kevin.
Hamza walked away with Marina after taking the chain from me. She didn't want to leave Xavier, but she did.
"Xavier, please allow me to explain," Robert said as he approached Xavier.
"Stay back, not you; he will give me the answers," Xavier said solemnly.
Robert took two steps back, watching Xavier's deadly expression. Kevin was staring at him, pretending not to be afraid of him, but on the inside, he was dying of fear.
Kevin was the Oak Pack's most powerful beta, but he and Xavier had very different mindsets. They didn't get along for a long time, but they were both dangerous to their adversaries.
"Things are settled in the west; in celebration, the Moonlight Pack exchanged news about Levine; Marina was the one who passed down the information to the Moonlight Pack to reach me; later, I discovered who the true informer was."
"Did you believe her?" Xavier inquired.
"Did you not?" Kevin inquired.
For a brief moment, they exchanged silent glances. They had no choice but to trust Marina.
"One of our members also got word that someone was watching Levine inside the Nightwalker pack's prison floor and—" Kevin was about to say when Xavier cut him off.
"Is he still alive?" Xavier inquired.
Kevin was unable to speak because he was unsure whether the news was true or a ruse.
"I don't know; no one knows," Kevin lamented.
"We're not sure if this is a trap," Kris said.
Since he arrived, I noticed Xavier tapping his foot on the ground, as if he was enduring the fact and was upset about the hidden truth about Levine. Many thoughts were racing through his mind.
Xavier was the most powerful Alpha I'd ever seen, and he knew how to handle the most difficult family situations.
"Marina was prepared to deliver my message to you; she wanted to put an end to the hostility between Demonix and the Oak pack," Kevin explained.
"How about you?" Xavier inquired.
"Me too," Kevin said, his face tense.
"Because we are on their land, they will not only greet us but also threaten us. Are you prepared?" Xavier inquired.
"Whatever you say," Kevin responded.
"We should make our move before they attack," Eric said.
"Eric is correct; we should trap before they trap us," Kris said.
"They have Levine; we need to be more cautious," Kevin explained.
"But we don't know if he's alive or dead," Xavier explained.
We all turned to Xavier, terrified of the outcome of the upcoming battle. If Levine had died already, the NightWalker pack would have faced a judge's judgment.
"Is that all you know?" Xavier inquired.
Kevin stated, "That's all I know."
Alpha Xavier appeared to be in a vengeful mood rather than a merciful one. Was he aware of Levine's death already? If he lost Levine, he could destroy everything.
We were all curious whether Levine was still alive or had been killed by the Nightwalker pack. There was only one hope left, and it was dangling by a thread.
"They've arrived!" One of the members informed us.
"Already?" Leo was taken aback.
We were all watching Xavier and wanted to know what his next move would be. We had no plan or idea, and nothing was set in stone.
When the Nightwalker pack surrounded us from all sides, Xavier wasI was looking around.
They were holding heavy weapons, There were more guns, and they were more numerous.
"Look who we have in our territory, Xavier, the alpha of the Oak pack," Artyom Zakharov, an underworld Russian Mafia alpha of the Nightwalker pack.
Short blond hair, blue eyes, thin lips, and a rounded nose. Artyom was on his way there. The more innocent he appeared, the more brutal he was. When his father was brutally murdered in vengeance, he began running a pack at a young age.
"Artyom, you miss me?" With a grin, Xavier inquired.
Artyom was laughing, and Xavier remained calm in the face of danger. We were surrounded by a swarm of powerful werewolves wielding guns, but Xavier appeared calm even though he didn't even have a gun in his pocket.
I was perplexed as to how Xavier managed to appear calm when all of our lives were on steak and we were dying to know whether or not Levine was alive.
"What brings you here? " Artyom inquired.
"Did not you invite me? you were dying to meet me, weren't you? " Xavier said with a grin
"Well, I don't have anything against you, but your brother is different, stubborn, and dangerous; he killed one of my best betas, and the crime he committed was unforgivable," Artyom said.
"How about you get rid of him?" Xavier stated
We were all struggling to keep our breath when most of them took one step towards us, just as Xavier took one step forward to Artyom.
"I thought you came here to bring peace," Artyom explained.
"Are you not?" 'Xavier asked Artyom was laughing.
"I was hoping for some action here," Artyom teased.
"You wouldn't be alive to see the action, and don't even get me started; I'm not in the mood." Xavier made a joke.
Artyom became enraged. "Who do you think you are?"
"I thought you knew who I was," Xavier said.
"Stop beating around the bush and start begging for your brother's life," Artyom teased.
"Has anyone seen me begging?" Xavier was requesting something from us.
"No," Leo replied.
Xavier was making eye contact with the members of the Oak pack.
"No, never," Frank replied.
"No," Martin replied.
"Never seen before," Ajay said, shaking his head.
With assurance, Xavier turned over to Artyom.
"Have you ever?" Artyom asked calmly.
"It's not about the past; it's about the present; you don't have a choice," Artyom explained.
Xavier stood silently watching Artyom as he teased and threatened him.
"What exactly do you want?" After a brief pause, Xavier inquired.
"I already told you to beg for your brother's life," Artyom said.
"Allow me to offer you a better deal, I——" Artyom interrupted what Xavier was saying.
"How do you think I'd be interested in any kind of deal when I have a big shark in my tank?" Artyom asked.
Xavier returned his attention to Kris, who bowed before departing.
"It will depend on your preferences; I am simply an offerer," Xavier explained.
Marina was brought in front of Artyom by Hamza, who was holding her handcuff chain. Artyom was taken aback by the surprise. The expression on Artyom's face said a lot.
"You may have a shark, but I own the ocean," Xavier said calmly.
"What do you have to offer?" Artyom inquired.
Artyom was Demonix's adversary, and Marina was both Demonix's greatest weakness and Artyom's greatest weapon for retaliation.
"She is lovely, isn't she?" Xavier stated seductively.
Marina appeared upset and was attempting to figure out what game Xavier was playing.
Artyom looked at her with lust in his eyes. He wasn't taking his gaze away from her for a second.
"I don't want you to beg me for this delicious candy; I just want you to release my brother and forget every conflict between us. I am not here for action, but for peace," Xavier said calmly.
Artyom motioned for one of the Betas to bring Levine. We were all waiting for Levine to return when the moment arrived. We were all hoping it wasn't a trap.
"What are you doing, Xavier?" a frustrated Marina inquired.
Xavier remained silent while keeping an eye out for Levine. Marina was struggling to free herself from the handcuffs as Artyom approached her. He smelled and retouched her hair.
"You have no right to touch me!" Marina pushed Artyom away from her.
Marina dashed over to Xavier and began hitting him on the chest.
"You liar, I told you about your brother, and you caught me! You duped me and took advantage of me, you jerk!" Marina screamed.
Marina was pulled back from Xavier by Ajay and Kris, but she still rushed over to him. She was about to hit Xavier on the chest again when he grabbed her hands tightly.
"You are nothing more than a toy,
You think I'd forgive Anthony for what he did to my pack and accept you?" Xavier was speaking while looking her in the eyes.
Marina was terrified while watching heartless and scary Xavier, while the rest of us were watching him silently.
"You don't realize, I just saved you from me; if you had stayed in front of my eyes for more than a day, I would have given you the most painful death ever and sent your dead body to your father; that would have been my revenge for your Father," Xavier said solemnly.
Marina appeared to be terrified by Xavier's evil deed. Her heart was racing, and I could see fear in her eyes. She was powerless.
Nobody ever knew when, how, or what Xavier would do because he was unpredictable. He was the smartest, but also the most dangerous Alpha.
