Chapter 52: Chapter 52
Chapter 52
Sansa's Pov
I was dragged by a strong hand while only looking ahead at dark long hairs. Her grip was too strong for me to resist.
I had no choice but to proceed. We were both walking blindly into the deep darkness, where I lost sight of my eyes. All I saw was darkness.
A dim light shone near the empty prison, away from anyone's presence. Our steps were guided by that dim light to find our vision in the darkness.
She shoved me up against the wall and smacked her right hand against the wall next to my neck. When her face emerged from the shadows, I held my breath. I could see her face in the dim light of the lantern hanging on the wall next to me.
"What on earth were you thinking?" Bella inquired quietly.
"That's none of your concern," I said as I moved away from her.
Bella grabbed my hand again and pushed me against the wall, which was difficult at the time. I could feel the pain in my back. Why was she being so impolite to me? was she mad at me?
Bella drew in closer. "Who do you believe you are?" Her gaze was fixed on mine.
"What exactly do you want?" I inquired.
"Stay away from this situation; you've already made a huge mess." Bella teased
"I wanted justice for Hina," I said.
"Stop playing games! Because of you, an innocent person was sacrificed, and you are responsible for the shambles." Bella made a joke.
"Didn't you already know?" When Bella leaned back to avoid me, I asked, "You know who the real culprit is, don't you?" She was concealing something.
"I'm warning you—stop here, don't do anything, or else many innocent people will suffer as a result of you," Bella warned me.
Bella was leaving after saying whatever she wanted to say.
"What exactly do you mean?" When the silence was louder than my voice, my voice was louder.
Bella turned away from me as if she didn't want anyone to hear us. She appeared to be in a state of panic.
"Your voice can get you into trouble," Bella cautioned.
"Why don't you tell the truth? Tell me what you know. If Ray is not the culprit, who is?" I inquired in my normal tone of voice.
As we both heard footsteps approaching, Bella put her hand on my mouth to keep me shut. We both appeared nervous and were exhaling heavily.
The footsteps became more audible as they approached us. My gaze shifted to the left side of her neck, where there was a deep scratch on her, and both of our hearts were racing.
My gaze was drawn to more old scars around her black dress cleavage while she was busy peering over and trying to figure out who else was there beside us.
I was tense because neither of us wanted anyone to notice our presence inside the dungeon. As the footsteps approached the corner, we held our breath. There was a brief moment of silence.
"Do you have bad news to share?"
Bella and I moved to the right side, away from the unknown voice. We were both peering over the prison walls, where a vampire who had attacked me was inside and Edward was standing around the bars.
"The bad news is that there isn't any bad news for you," Edward explained.
"Not yet," Felix said confidently, "but the sooner you get it, the sooner you will cry when you lose your alpha and your pack will be destroyed."
"Xavier will return soon," Edward stated solemnly.
"Are you still hopeful?" Felix was giggling.
Edward took out the small shopper bag of blood and threw it on the floor of his prison, which smashed.
"You must be hungry. Lick the floor to finish your hunger," Edward mocked.
"It's a very small portion meal, but I'm on a diet anyway, so I wouldn't complain," Felix joked.
"I didn't want to give you anything, but Xavier wanted to keep you alive until he returned," Edward explained.
"Then I'll be alive for a long time; stop waiting for him; he won't return," Felix laughed.
"He is an alpha, an alpha of the oak pack, our pride, and the most powerful of all the underworld can't stand up to him," Edward exclaimed.
"The pack he went to meet is famous for their brutality; they don't think or hesitate to kill. Levine is dead already, and now Xavier will die, oh! He might be dead already; the only thing that will return is the death news." Felix's evil laugh was audible as he said that.
When I and Bella heard him, Edward was fighting back his rage.
Is Xavier already dead? If that's the case, what will happen to me?
What happened to the mate's bride? My thoughts were elsewhere when I assumed Xavier was already dead.
"I will ensure that I kill you slowly and painfully," Edward raged.
"Do you still miss her?" Felix smiled and asked.
In an instant, Edward had a firm grip on Felix's neck. Felix was out of breath and attempting to let go.
"Don't ever bring her up again; the next time I'd plant my claws into your pretty soft neck and drain all the blood you've been sucking from innocent victims," Edward raged.
Felix was out of breath, his lips had turned purple, and his eyes were bulging; another minute could have caused him harm, but Edward threw him away.
Felix was gasping for air, while Edward was reveling in his situation.
"I thought you were immortal," Edward chuckled.
Felix was still trying to catch his breath and pull his hand away from the silver-made handcuff.
"Would you like to leave?" Edward was making fun of him.
"Trust me, you are all mistaken to believe Marina; she is the mastermind of this trip, and now she has fled, trapping me in hell." Felix appeared uneasy.
When Felix was upset, Edward stood there silently watching him.
Bella and I were looking over them with curiosity. We were both curious about the situation. Concerning the situation
"Do you believe I'll fall into a trap?" Edward inquired.
"You already are; Xavier fell into her trap; she was lying to you at every turn. She wished to be free of this dungeon." Felix stated
"Stop squandering your time," Edward advised.
"If you don't believe me, your wish is granted, but Marina's mission was to get out of here, and no one can stop her now," Felix explained.
"What's the point of telling me? When did you decide to turn against her?" Edward inquired.
"Before anything happens, do something because she left me here alone in the dark dungeon," Felix said.
Edward turned and walked away. I wanted to talk to Felix about why he attacked me, so I took two steps toward him, but Bella grabbed my wrist and began walking to the opposite side of the dungeon.
"Can you tell me where you're taking me?" I inquired.
"We have to get out of here," Bella said quickly.
"I'm not going!" I said
"He can ignore you once, but not twice; if he knows you're here, you won't be here long; he's the beta of the oak pack, the most dangerous one; stop being a fool; let's get out of here before he returns," Bella said.
Bella was talking about Edward, and I noticed him being brutal with Felix for the first time. He was frightening, to be sure, but he saved me in the trial, and he lied to do so.
We both came to a halt near the tall black wall; there was no way out, no door. Bella walked away after she let go of my hand. She used all of her strength to push the wall away.
"What are you up to?" I inquired.
"Getting you out of the mess that will be created when you exit the dungeon's main gate. Please lend me a hand." Bella started
With my strength, I began to push against the wall with her. I noticed the wall shifting slightly. We both pushed a wall, allowing the moonlight to enter.
We both used all of our strength to push through the wall and escape the dungeon. For a while, we were both exhaling heavily.
I noticed a cold breeze and was hearing a slow wave sound around me, so I turned around to look at the huge wall that surrounded us under the bright moon and shining stars.
"Let's get rid of the evidence of our presence," Bella suggested.
We both started pushing the wall back into place and blocking the previously blocked path.
"Are you familiar with that vampire?" I inquired.
"His name is Felix," Bella explained, her face thoughtful.
"You don't realize he was the one who attacked me."
"Why?" Bella inquired.
"Because I am the bride of an alpha," I explained, and that's what Xavier told me.
"That would not be the only reason they would put their lives in danger in Oak Pack territory. Why would someone willingly plunge into the depths of death? There could be another reason for their visit," Bella stated.
Bella made an excellent point: she must be aware of additional facts and secrets that she is withholding. She was the one who warned me to stay out of trouble on my first day. She was the only one who got me out of the dungeon before I got myself into any more trouble.
