Chapter 29: Chapter 29
Chapter 29
Xavier's pov
I needed to stop Albert before he caused any more havoc, so I forced myself to chase him down, and on the way, I stepped on and picked up a loaded pistol, and turned back at Falkor.
"I am the one who can protect you; if you want to die, run." Before leaving him to decide, I left the decision to Falkor.
When the war was going on another side of the building was on the ground. I dashed over to Albert, but he was uncontrollable. That felt like we were all standing on the edge of a cliff, about to fall due to the pressure of the breeze.
"Albert! Listen to me!" I held his wrist with my hand to stop him.
"I don't want to hear anything when I already know the truth." Albert jerked my hand away as he walked away before I could grasp him.
Falkor followed us; he knew that sticking with me was beneficial to him.
"I'm warning you to stop," I said twice.
"You are evil, Xavier; our future with you is ruined; I will defend my pack against you; you are venom for us all," Albert's voice was becoming louder.
"I don't want you to do anything stupid; sometimes silence is the best way to keep things peaceful," I tried to reassure him.
"No, at the moment, silence is the astray." Albert was overacting when he pushed me away from Falkor to kill him.
I dashed forward and yanked him back as he was about to touch Falkor. Albert dared to fight back after I punched him in the face, kicked him, and threw him away. I was angry that he would warn another member of the pack, potentially causing even more devastation. I warned him, but he continued.
"I'm warning you one last time," I said as I aimed the pistol at him.
Albert turned back at me as he sensed my rage; I was standing in the middle of him and Falkor, the final decisive moment.
"Are you going to kill me just to protect that human?" He was overcome with emotion.
"If I have to," I warned him.
Albert's claws were growing longer when he decided to kill Falkor.
"OK, then stop me from killing him."
Albert attempted to kill Falkor, but I stood in his way; he ran over to him after dodging me, and I shot him before his claw was an inch away from Falkor's face. the man who knew everything about my bride.
I held my breath as the silver bullet struck him. We were both watching each other's faces for the most unexpected expression.
Albert was the pack's most endearing omega. Among the pack, his bright personality, sense of humor, and romantic songs were the most well-known.
I didn't want to see him suffer because he was loyal to the pack and fought for it, but in the end, he suffered.
"I apologize." My eyes were filled with a single tear. As I felt inside my heavy chest, my voice shivered with guilt and pain.
Albert was in pain, his innocent wet eyes watching me before closing forever as he fell to the ground, Levine's face revealed to me as he stood a few feet behind Albert. Levine was taken aback as he witnessed my evil side.
His eyes were full of questions and curses for me, so I returned to Falkor without explaining to Levine.
"Let's go," I told Falkor.
I was the one who betrayed my kind to protect the man, who was the only way for me to reach the child I was destined to have.
Every second, I despised myself.
My heart was breaking; I knew it would cause me great harm to kill Albert, Levine's childhood best friend; I never imagined things would turn out this way.
When we had power, we thought they were just weak humans, but they were smart devils with strategies and unity, which we lacked the most.
For Falkor's sake, I take the obvious route. Two vampires were aware of my betrayal and attempted to stop me, but I killed them both.
I came to a halt near the main door, which was made of heavy metal. I tried hard to break the door, but the solid door was a pain.
"I thought the pack's alpha is the most powerful member, so he deserved a title," Falkor teased me.
I ripped the sleeves off my coat and showed him the bullet scratch left on my arm by his fella hunter. I was in my wolf form at the time.
"Your fella gave me sweet pain when you fell in love with a wolf and couldn't have taken your gaze away from me"
"Oh! That was you, with your shiny black fur like a starry night, your crystal glassy eyes, and your deserted heart. Without his bride, the Alpha is the most lonely." Falkor was content with the shield he had.
"Give it to me."
"What do you want right now?" Falkor asked
"Her picture"
"How romantic," Falkor teased with a smile.
When Falkor pulled the picture of Sansa from his wallet, he extended it. I took the photo and kicked the door, which collapsed with one kick. Falkor was overjoyed with his escape.
"Hide for a few days, then commit suicide after I claim my bride, so vampires don't find out about my betrayal and your few days of life,"
"I'll be waiting for you," Falkor said as he walked away.
When I turned around, Levine was already standing there.
"How did you turn so evil? You slaughtered one of us without hesitation" He mocked
"He was out of control," I said.
"Do you believe killing Albert will get you the safe ticket?" When his eyes were as hot as lava, Levine pushed me away.
"Are you going to threaten me?"
"Yes, I am; the sin you have committed will cost you dearly."
"Who the hell are you to interrogate me?" For the first time, I pushed him away and became enraged.
"As an Alpha, I have complete authority over my decisions. To keep the pack safe from the war, I had to stop him."
"You are not and will never be my alpha," Levine was unkind to me.
"You don't understand, I have to protect her; she is mine."
"So you abandoned your people for the stranger, who could be a liar,"
"I don't care what you or anyone else thinks about me; I'm done."
I spent my entire life being misunderstood by the people I cared about; I was the one who grew tired of explaining myself, but I no longer; decided not to explain anymore.
"I can't be with a traitor," Levine declared.
"Albert sacrificed himself to keep the peace between the two clans," I explained.
"Peace? Do you understand what that means? I thought things would be better, but I am regretting coming with you; That would have been preferable. If I heard that Albert had been killed in a war, not by his Alpha." Levine was overcome with emotion.
His words were deeply hurting me.
"It was the only way to stop him," I said.
"And this is the only way for me not to kill for the time being," Levine's final words to me.
I wanted to stop him, but I had lost all the words that could have brought him back to me. That was my last encounter with him. I was abandoned once more.
I saw her picture and hoped to see her in person, but Falkor was a liar, he was not there, and the house had been abandoned since the last time I visited. Since then, I've been looking for her, who belonged to me.
