Chapter 30: Chapter 30

Chapter 30

Twenty Years Later

Sansa's Pov

My curiosity was piqued when I discovered a one-year-old photograph of me wearing a red frock and my father embracing me. My father used to keep this picture in his wallet. At the same time, my mind was flooded with questions.

How did Xavier obtain that old photograph of mine? He'd never met my father, had he?

Did he know who I was, and how long had he known about my existence? Was he telling the truth when he said I was his? How? Why? Since when? Those words ignited a battle in the ground of my mind.

Xavier never gave me the answers I needed; he always avoided conversations in which he held secrets. Why was he hesitant to reveal the secret?

I gave up on Xavier and decided to begin my search for the hidden truth, the law by which we were bound according to him, my existence in his life, and all of my curiosity that kept me awake all night.

I wanted to get out of the bind I'd found myself in. I wished to return to Logan, who must have been looking for me everywhere. That was the strength of our love: he would not give up on me, that's what I thought.

Since Xavier left me in the massive mansion full of werewolves, I've been trying to find a way out. I went outside my room and looked downstairs; all of the pack members were roaming around, and I couldn't leave in front of them individually. when everyone's attention was focused on me.

I went back into my room and began looking for something that would allow me to leave without alerting them. After looking around the luxurious room, I began searching the wardrobe for bedsheets to use to climb down from the balcony.

In my quest to find a way out, I discovered a locked drawer when all the others were easily opened, but that one drew my full attention. Something was fishy in there, and my mind took a new turn to bring out the hidden things in the light.

I began by using all of the random codes and tried numerous methods to open that, but each time I failed. I was angry, and now I had a new mission to complete before I left.

I started looking for the key by going through all of the jewelry, dresses, and shoe sections inside the massive wardrobe, but I failed the mission and depleted my energy.

When someone knocked on the door, I took the ring off my finger and placed it inside my red coat pocket to justify the mess I had made.

"Please come in," I said.

Amara stepped into the room. "Hey, how are you doing?"

"Good"

"You must be bored because Xavier isn't here," she speculated.

"That's fine."

"Why don't you come to dinner with us?" Amara put it nicely.

"Sure, sure," I said.

Amara noticed that I had messed up the wardrobe and tossed a few dresses on the bed. Bedsheets were scattered on the floor.

"I was looking for my ring."

Logan gave me that ring when he first proposed to me, and I took it off for the first time that day.

"Oh! that lovely ring! Do you recall where you stored it?" Amara appeared concerned.

Amara joined me as I began picking up items from the ground and placing them back in the wardrobe.

"Last night, before taking a shower, I placed the ring on the bedside table; today, I realized I had misplaced my ring."

"It should be somewhere here," Amara said.

"Yes, I have to find it at any cost; I couldn't open that drawer because Xavier might have put it in there," I said, pointing to the locked drawer.

"No, he's not going to open that drawer; it's been locked for years," Amara revealed the secret

"Why? "

"Nobody knows; he used to say that if he died, nobody would ever open that drawer, and if by chance someone opens that drawer, just burn the stuff inside without question," Amara explained.

"What might be inside?"

"I'm not sure; we've all been curious about that for a long time, but we don't want to know anymore."

"What if that drawer is opened?" I inquired out of curiosity.

"Xavier does not like people who do things he tells them not to do," Amara explained.

"There could be a lot of money inside!" To get the idea, I was making assumptions.

"No, he is not obsessed with money; he has never kept money in the mansion."

"Really? Why? "

"He says never keep money around you because money can get you killed or you lose all of it in a second," Amara explained.

"Of course, he wouldn't have told you where his money is kept." I made an arbitrary statement.

"He would tell you everything. He knows you're his luna, his soulmate." shy Amara was beaming.

"But he hasn't told me anything, not even things that are clear to me, which sometimes causes misunderstandings between us."

"He doesn't open up easily; give him time; once you've won his heart and trust, he'll give you all the answers you've been looking for; he has a good heart; I have known him for a long time," Amara gently explained.

I didn't have time to give Xavier time to get all of my answers, which he was obstinately refusing to clear.

Every second, I was making impossible plans to flee that place, but Xavier had kept an eye on me until now, and now that he was gone, it was my golden opportunity to flee.

"I'll look for the ring later; let's go, I'm hungry."

"They're all waiting for you," Amara explained.

I started walking downstairs with Amara. They all stood up, and I sat down with them at the dinner table. All of them were at the table.

I could see the disappointment on Edward's face as he avoided eye contact with me. He had avoided me since the day he discovered my true identity.

They were all like family, sharing the most delectable food. I've never eaten such rich and delectable food before. The food was better without Xavier.

"Do you like your new place?" Friendly Fariya inquired.

"It's a nice place to live," I said, taking a bite of a juicy steak.

"By that time, you will have learned more about our traditions, culture, and events; you are now a member of the pack," Fariya said.

"You haven't been to one of our parties yet," Jerry said politely as he poured water into a fancy glass.

Their vibe was friendly, and they appeared to be pleasant company.

Things were more complicated with Xavier, but now that he was gone, things were better.

"We are crazy people, as you will soon discover," Jerry said as he smiled and extended a glass of water to me. He was aware and served at the appropriate time. I sipped the water.

Jerry White, the Omega of the Oak Pack, had a brown undercut hairstyle on his cleanly shaved face. His skin was fair, and he had blue eyes. I'd seen his friendly behavior; he was the pack's most popular and friendly omega.

"I'm looking forward to seeing crazy things," I replied, smiling.
