Chapter 12: Chapter 12

Chapter 12

Xavier's Pov

Everyone is running in a race, wants to run faster, and lives a competitive lifestyle.

You run, You run without looking back; there are many things you miss you are unaware of. Being blind to gain power can ruin your life.

The power can blind you, causing you to become greedy and insane. To get you to where you want to lose everything, including your relationships, family, and everything you own, to gain power.

Not everyone has control over power, but power can also have control over you. The best thing about having power is knowing how to use it.

Garrison Ronan, Oak Pack's Alpha, my father was the most effective leader I had ever witnessed in my life. He fought for justice for his kind as an alpha with pride and great power.

Loyalty lasts until you prove yourself to be the best among them. When your desire for power grows, you try to take the position.

That's exactly what happened. Oberon was my father's loyal brother, but as his greed grew, he challenged the man he worshipped.

Oberon renamed his pack Blue Shadow after abandoning an Oak pack. Oberon desired to be worshipped in the same way that my father's people had. And most of the clans were mocking him. Without my father, he was nothing. He became aware.

I never wanted to be an alpha; I was free-spirited and never learned about my responsibilities. I was away from the pack, living my life in peace on the island among humans.

After the Blue Shadow pack brutally murdered my parents, Oberon believed he could be free of humiliation by killing my family. He made his reputation exactly as he expected: trust, loyalty, and territories all crumbled.

The battle began within the packs; they were clueless, lacked direction, and needed a leader, and I needed to protect the oak pack, which my father had been protecting for years.

I was consumed by vengeance, and the path I took became my destiny. The duties I was fleeing became the reason I lived.

Every clan in the underworld desired to remain untouched and to become powerful over everyone so that everyone feared them. Every powerful clan desired to rule the underworld, but the competition was fierce.

Demonix, the leader of the most dangerous vampire clan, had many powerful warriors. The Oak Pack of werewolves was the underworld's most unbeaten clan. When Demonix became the Oak Pack's companion, both clans ruled the underworld for years.

When both clans agreed to marry Bonita Henry to Anthony Carlos, the problem arose. The groom and bride were the issues, not the marriage.

"Tell me how much you love me?"

The question had no meaning for the stranger I had kidnapped after claiming her as my bride. I could see through Sansa's hatred for me, and I felt it every second.

I knew well that claiming her as my bride would only bring me hatred. But she was mine, and I had a right to her. She was all mine.

While my eyes were detecting the vampires who entered my territory. When I was looking for them since yesterday, they were very good at hiding.

They were nearby, somewhere in the jungle, and I could smell Marina. She was very close but not as close as Sansa was mine. My gaze was drawn to the small cracking sound of a slow step while hugging Sansa.

"I'd like to know how much you love me."

"Ah... I... " Sansa was out of words.

My ears were picking up on any sound, allowing me to detect it. I noticed a leaf swinging, not due to air pressure but because someone was behind the tree.

I let go of Sansa and focused my attention on the tree behind her. I could smell the vampire scent from my backside as well, and I was losing patience. I took the knife from my pocket and decided who I would kill first.

"Why? Why are you so obstinate?"

I was warning them and shifting my attention to which side they would approach.

I was constantly warning them. "Do you believe you have a chance? You can run if you want, but you'll end up in front of me, pleading for mercy."

I was forced to gather them of their thirst for human blood. Sansa was the most important to bring them around against their will.

I scratched her hand with my knife; human blood was their weakness, and as Sansa's blood fell, my gaze was fixed on the tree behind her.

"You are evil!" Sansa exclaimed, oblivious to the battle that was about to begin.

Felix Bartholomew became a bloodthirsty vampire who jumped from behind to drink her blood. It was my turn to welcome him to my territory.

I grabbed his neck and stared at the fear in Sansa's teary eyes. I shoved him up against the tree.

When the battle between vampires and werewolves began, Edward poured gasoline on Jasper Lazarus, and I burned that fu**** who murdered my best friend, Jared.

Marina Lazarus rushed over to Jasper as he was on fire. Felix was yelling and fighting back against Edward.

"What have you done? Why did you murder him?" Marina screamed at me.

"I was waiting for the right moment, but I gave up on Jasper to keep the peace. He walked into my territory and got caught in a trap that I had not even set. Why would I not kill him if I was going to?"

"I will kill you," raged Marina.

Marina attacked me, but I put handcuffs on her wrist and locked her handcuff on the car handle inside the car. I did the same for Felix, who was sitting in the passenger seat with his hands tied with handcuffs.

I shut the car door and walked over to Jasper's ashes, while Edward tasted Sansa's blood from the ground.

Sansa was taken aback by the unexpected battle. I extended my hand to check the cut on her hand, but she took a few steps back.

"Do not dare to touch me," she yelled angrily.

"Xavier, it's human blood," confused Edward explained.

I came to a halt but continued to stare at Sansa, who was staring at me with fearful eyes.

Edward expressed his disappointment. "She is a human being."

I turned to Edward, who was perplexed by my lack of reaction.

"You knew the fact, Did not you?" inquired Edward.

"So?" As if nothing had happened, I said.

"The Oak Pack members will never accept her," lamented Edward.

Sansa finally learned the name of the pack she was a part of the Oak Pack.

"Why didn't you tell me that she's half-human?" Disappointed Edward inquired.

"Do I need your approval to make life decisions?" in a rage, I inquired.

"I did not mean that; I am concerned that others will find out," hesitant Edward bowed to him.

"Who is going to tell them?" I inquired.

"I didn't see any human blood today, only vampires," sincere Edward explained.

"Take them to the dungeon," I instructed.

Edward drove away in his car. Sansa feared me because I was walking close to her.

"I warn you, stay back," said Sansa, her voice breaking.

"Have you never seen a vampire before?"

"I've never heard of them; am I in any danger?" She inquired, her voice broken and shocked.

"Not until I'm with you."

Sansa was terrified of me and refused to let me hold her hand.

"Are you happy to torture me like that? Is that what you wanted?" her eyes were filled with tears.

"I didn't mean to frighten you."

"Was that the hunting you were talking about? However, you used me as bait to entice your visitors." Sansa was overcome with emotion.

I explained, hoping she got it. "They were here to kill you, and I used you to capture them."

"You are self-centered." she scoffed.

"Are you not?"

"What did I do? I'm being held here against my will, tortured by the Alpha; how did this make me selfish?" Sansa inquired.

"You're only concerned with yourself; you wanted to marry your lover; what about me? What did I do to deserve your hatred? I'm not even compelling you to marry me."

Sansa raged. "You can't force me; I'd kill myself before marrying you; if you don't believe me, try me."

Sansa challenged me, unaware that I was there to protect her from the curse, not to challenge her. I was cursed and I couldn't make her mine, even though I couldn't let her go when she was mine.
