Chapter 13: Chapter 13

Chapter 13

Xavier's Pov

"How much do you despise me?"

"More than you can ever imagine," she stated unequivocally.

"You are dangerously stubborn."

"And you are a kidnapper," she raged.

"Stop referring to me as that."

"I'm not sure why you're keeping me here against my will, but one thing is certain: you wouldn't get a piece of me."

"You would be unable to accept the truth."

"I am prepared for anything," she dared to say.

I told her, looking into her eyes without regard for anyone else.

"I will marry you whether you like it or not; you will stay here with me because you belong to me and no one else; I am not forcing you; giving you some time does not give you the right not to marry me."

In her rage, she stabbed me with the knife that I used to cut her hand. She wasn't prepared for that; she was shocked and terrified, and her hands shivered; her rage drove her to stab me, but she didn't regret it.

She took a few steps back as I removed the knife from my kidney side and threw it away. That was painful, but not nearly as much as my life had been.

She began to run, but I stopped her; we repeated the process twice.

When she tested my patience, I held her hand angrily.

"Kill me if you want, but I will die before marrying you, and you will not be able to claim me; remember that, I came with you to protect Logan, the man I love, and the man I will love for the rest of my life."

Not fear, but hatred, was what I was looking for in her. Why wouldn't she, given how fate had brought us together? I was being patient, but when she mentioned her lover, I couldn't help but pull her close to me by trapping her waist.

I said softly, "Say it again," looking into her eyes, though she remained silent to keep my storm inside.

"I despise you; every time I look at you, I see the man who shattered my dreams, my wedding; you did not bring me here; I came here to save my love; if you kill him, I will perish."

I was trying to stay calm, but she was getting on my nerves.

"Do you think I'll marry you if you act like my husband in front of a bunch of werewolves?" Sansa teased

She was the unstoppable fire.

I was irritated by her rebellious nature; she was willing to go to any length to save her Lover, which was killing me on the inside. I let go of her hand before I could do anything to harm her; the storm was difficult to contain.

"I was scared when I was marrying Logan because I wondered how happiness could come so easily to me; did I deserve it? Before saying yes to the marriage, I asked myself 1000 times."

Sansa shifted her gaze away from me, clearly distressed.

"For the first time, I put my faith in fate but you betrayed my trust, making me feel foolish for believing that I deserved happiness," she looked at me. "Are you happy now?" She inquired.

"Why would you care?" I inquired.

"No, I don't," she said.

The evening would be over in a few hours. The sun was setting earlier, and the birds were returning home.

I was watching Sansa wipe away her tears while feeling pain in her hand and blood drops falling on the ground.

I confessed, "But I'm glad I found you, that you're here, and that you belong to me."

I couldn't take my gaze away from her sorrowful expression. Her curly brown hair brushed up against her face, and her teary eyes sparkled like diamonds.

"But I am not," she replied truthfully.

I teased. "OK, then I must hand you over to the vampires, they want you too, you will be happy there, DEAD."

"Are you threatening me?"

"I'm giving you a choice; it's up to you"

Sansa remarked sarcastically, "Very calculated."

I teased, "Only for you."

She was trying hard to control her anger, she was out of patience like me, and I never expected her to be as stubborn as a mountain I couldn't shake when I thought she was weak because her appearance suggested otherwise.

"I will not sit back if you think of harming me again," her sharp eyes were like an arrow, striking the exact spot at the right time.

I walked closer to her in rage, but she began to push me away. Many times she failed because I was stronger, but her hatred was stronger than mine.

I wrapped my hand around her wrist and turned around, her back touching my chest while my hand gripped her wrist tightly. Her breathing was audible to me. She was nervous because she was acting strong at the same time.

"I'm the one who is going to protect you from the Vampires; they want to kill you." I tried my hardest to stay calm to keep her calm, but she was tough.

"Why?" Sansa inquired solemnly.

In another minute, she pushed me away and freed herself from my tight grip on her wrist.

I avoided her, anything she didn't know about, and it was better for her. She would have been in more trouble if she had known more. "It's a long story."

Sansa admitted, "I'm very concerned about myself."

I started walking while she followed. Eager to discover the hidden truth. she was desperate.

"Vampires and werewolves had long been enemies. Both races desired to be the dominant race. Sometimes for territory, sometimes for vengeance, sometimes for pure hatred, and sometimes for old blood."

"Old blood?" Sansa appeared surprised.

"Bonita was an Oak pack werewolf, and Anthony was a vampire from the Demonix pack; they were both in love and accepted by both clans. Marriage was also the source of added strength for both clans."

"Marriage of a werewolf and a vampire? How is that even conceivable?" surprised Sansa inquired.

She knew nothing about the underworld. I felt she was more human than a werewolf.

"Love knows no bounds; it can happen to anyone," I took her hand in mine slowly, looking into her beautiful ocean-green eyes, her hair swinging in the breeze, and she was listening intently to my words.

I liked the way she looked when she was lost in my eyes; her eyes were as deep as the ocean, and I wanted to be lost in them, but she never let me; she built a wall between us without realizing how important our relationship was. She needed time to comprehend. She was unaware of the entire truth, which I preferred not to reveal at this time.

"Love is not blind, but rather sighted.

Love is trust, loyalty, care, and feelings, regardless of who you are or who you love. What matters is who stays by your side in all conditions," had just healed the wound I had given her.

Her wide-open eyes were filled with questions, but her lips were sealed in shock. She was a half-human who was unaware of the abilities she possessed.

"How did you do that?" she was astounded.

"If you ever get hurt, come to me and I will heal you," I promised her

Sansa was staring at me, the fear and anger in her eyes gone, and she was deep in thought, but I couldn't study her.

"What happened next? Did they tie the knot?" Sansa inquired.

"Everything was going swimmingly until Bonita discovered her true mate one day before her wedding."

Sansa inquired, "True mate? What does this imply?"

"Mates are soulmates who have been chosen by the moon goddess. Every werewolf has a life partner."

"That's very unusual," said Sansa, peering into her deep thoughts.

"You must be unaware of your species?"

"After Logan, you're the second werewolf I've met," she explained.

I hated hearing the name Logan, a beta from Darkfur Pack, but I remained silent and hid my hatred for him to avoid making her even angrier at me.

"How does one know if they have found a true mate?" she inquired

"When they meet, they know they were meant to be together, and the attraction they feel leads them to recognize their true mates."

"Where is your mate?" she inquired.

We came to a halt, and I could see her interest growing. Sansa was completely unaware of everything; I couldn't tell her why I had been single my entire life, and I couldn't tell her about my curse. The curse that destroyed my life. She was new to everything.

Sansa had no idea she was the one I desired more than any other mate; I didn't know what was wrong with me, but I had wanted her to be by my side since the first time I saw her in her wedding gown.

"I'm not sure," I lied as I began to walk away from her.

"Where is my mate?" out of curiosity Sansa inquired.

"You'll know when he's around because you'll feel different, and you'll know for sure that he's your mate."

Sansa inquired, "So you're not my mate, you're just a werewolf, and we're bound by the law, which I'm still not sure about, but as you said, I'm your bride. Can you tell me about the law in detail?"

"You ask a lot of questions."

"But you never give me a satisfactory answer," she complained.

I tried to avoid her, but she was in my way and demanded answers at my expense.

"What happened to Bonita and Anthony?"

"She betrayed Anthony in exchange for her true mate, whom the moon goddess had bestowed upon her. Bonita and her companion vanished, but the Oak pack paid a high price. Anthony became enraged and attacked and killed a member of the Oak pack, which is how the feud began for years. Now they are after Alpha's bride."

"They want to kill me because they thought I am the alpha's bride, and they want vengeance," she said.

"Hmm."

"Hmm? I'm in danger due to you, and you're humming?" she Scoffed

"You'll be safe with me, but you'll be in danger out there."

"Oh, stop bragging about yourself; you used and harmed me to capture them."

"But they can't because I won't let them hurt you."

She had never looked me in the eyes for so long before, but I lost count after a few seconds, just as she was lost in my eyes and her thoughts at the time. I wanted to kiss her pink lips. The more I looked at her, the more I became blinded by my desire to make her mine. I was getting eager but also holding myself back.
