Chapter 24 Gold Group Sponsorship

Martin proudly added, "I don't need three days. One day is actually enough."

"One day?"

Hardy replied with a smirk. Martin seemed to be challenging himself and look too proud about it. Hardy thought to himself that he has never seen such a stupid person like him. He became more certain that he will win.

"We'll find out in a day then." Hardy dropped his sentence and left.

"Martin, how could you make such a bet with him? How could you promise him? He was clearly trying to trick you!" Janet's face was full of worry and anxiety.

Janet could not think of a way on how will they find a sponsor with such conditions. She knows that no big company will just casually sponsor them. She's puzzled why Martin made such deal with Hardy like it's just nothing.

Fatso, who was next to them, could not help but laugh, "Don't worry, Janet. I'm sure Martin will win."

He knew that Martin will sponsor the event himself and also knew that he can even give more than thirty thousand dollars. Whenever he thinks of Hardy losing, he imagines him doing Martin's dare, he kept on laughing about it.

But Janet has no idea about Martin's true identity.

"I still want to thank you though. Thank you for standing up and stopping Hardy for me." Janet said with a faint smile on her face.

Janet thought that Martin got involved because of her, so she has both gratitude and pity for Martin.

"You are our class monitor. How could I let that scum defile you?" Martin replied with a smile.

Janet was silent for a moment and said, "Now that it's done, Martin, we should start. We have to at least try."

Although it is an impossible task for Janet, she had no choice but to try.

Martin smiled at her, "As I just said, I will help you with the sponsorship, leave it to me. Let's go."

Martin walked straight towards the school gate and Janet followed.

"Martin, aren't we going to study our target companies first?" Janet wondered.

To Janet, since they are targeting a big company for sponsorship, they must first study a strategy on how they can convince them to donate.

"No, I already have a plan." Martin shook his head.

"Really? Which company?" Janet inquired curiously.

Martin smiled and two words popped out from his mouth,"Gold Group."

"Gold Group?" Janet was surprised, she knows how powerful Gold group is.

"For a company as big as Gold Group, I'm afraid they won't care about us. We better go to another one." Janet said.

"No, we're going to Gold Group!" Martin insisted and smiled.

Martin hailed a taxi and went straight to the Gold Group.

Although Janet felt that the success rate of seeking sponsorship from the Gold Group is as rare as winning the lottery, Martin urged that she should give it a try.

Martin's Lamborghini was parked near the school but instead of driving, he chose to ride a taxi.

He does not want to reveal his identity for the time being because he doesn't want his friendship with Janet to change. Otherwise, he wouldn't bother to make a trip all the way to the company and just take out thirty thousand dollars up front and ask Michael to send a sponsorship agreement.

Finding a sponsor is their shared experience.

When they've arrived at Gold Group, they saw how magnificent the company building is.

Martin seems to have an interest in Janet not only because she is beautiful, but also because of her character. She studies hard, works hard, and is also very strong. That is what caught his interest.

There were two guards standing in front of Gold Group and at the door stood another two men guarding the company gate.

"Martin, are we really going to the Gold Group? Can we even go pass that door?"

Janet was nervous and she felt her palms sweat.

"Don't worry, I'll go." Martin said with a smile.

Martin took the lead and Janet hurriedly followed him.

"What can I do for you, gentleman?" As soon as they arrived at the door, two security guards stopped Martin.

The security guards absolutely knew Martin, but they pretended not to know him for they were ordered to do so. On their way there, Martin sent Michael a message about the matter and informed him that they will be arriving soon. He ordered everyone to pretend not to know him in order to hide his true identity from Janet

"We are students from UCLA. Our school has an upcoming event and we would like your company to sponsor thirty thousand dollars for us. Would you please report it to your manager?" Martin explained.

"Okay, I'll report it." The guard nodded.

"He, he went to report it?" Janet was surprised. She thought that they will just make them leave after saying such thing.

"Janet, relax and don't worry." Martin said with a reassuring smile.

Janet nodded obediently but still was very nervous. She's afraid that once the guard comes back, he would say that the manager doesn't want to meet them and ask them to leave.

A few minutes later, the guard was back, "Gentleman, the general manager would like to see you. I'll take you to him, follow me." The guard said.

"General Manager?! really?" Janet was stunned and delighted after hearing the news. To her it was a miracle and she felt extremely incredible.

"Yes, let's go." Martin said with a smile.

The guard led them straight to the general manager's office and they saw a man sitting inside.

Michael and Martin looked at each other tacitly and pretended not to know each other.

"General Manager, how do you do?" Janet looked so nervous and stiff for she never thought she would be able to meet the general manager of the Gold Group.

"Please have a seat, ma'am and sir." Michael smiled and waved his hand.

"Janet, let's sit." Martin sat down with Janet. He acted normal and was not nervous at all.

"I've already heard the report from the security that you want us to sponsor your school event. Thirty thousand dollars is not much for our company, so I've decided to sponsor it." Michael said directly.

Janet froze and did not expect things to go that easy.

"Martin, am, am I dreaming." Janet said in a daze.

"No, you're not, we've got our sponsor." Martin said with a smile.

Ten minutes later, Martin and Janet left with a big envelope that has thirty thousand dollars cold cash which was stamped with the Gold Group's red seal.

After walking out the door, Janet suddenly jumped on Martin and hugged him. "Martin, that was great! I can't believe we actually got a sponsor, and it's the Gold Group!"

The faint fragrance of Janet immediately swept into Martin mind.

This sudden hug embarrassed Martin. He seldom gets physical contact with girls, let alone a beautiful girl like Janet.
