Chapter 25: Chapter 25
Chapter 25 The Feeling of Heartbeat
The moment Janet hugged him, he felt nervous and felt his body go stiff.
Martin was still a virgin. Although he and his ex-girlfriend Jessie have been dating for 2 years, they have never even kissed.
Janet let out a scream of shame and hurriedly released him. Her face suddenly turned red.
"That. I, um, I was just so happy just now. So, that's why." Janet flushed while she was trying to explain but she stammered and couldn't explain herself right.
"Well, I'm happy too. I understand." Martin gave a dry laugh.
"Yes, I really did not expect that it would be this easy to get a sponsorship from the Gold Group. I still feel like I'm dreaming." Janet smiled.
Martin felt so happy to see Janet like this.
"I told you, it's not as difficult as you thought." Martin said with a smile.
Of course, it wasn't difficult because it was all arranged. But if Martin is still the poor boy he used to be, they may not even be able to get through the door.
Janet suddenly looked at Martin and seriously asked, "Martin, I don't think it was supposed to be this easy. Everything just ran so smoothly; does it have anything to do with you?"
As a member of the department, Janet had several experiences with finding sponsorship, so she knows that it is not that easy to find one. The easier way for some girls in the department is to give their body in exchange of the sponsorship fees.
But her experience this time is different. Coming to Gold Group was Martin's idea in the first place, she felt like Martin is the one who made the sponsorship deal so easy.
"How will it have anything to do with me? Do I look like I have anything to do with Gold Group?" Martin smiled and chuckled.
"All right." Janet nodded and thought about it. Given Martin's family situation, it really is impossible for him to have connections to Gold Group. Maybe she just worries too much.
Janet looked up at Martin and replied, "Martin, thank you! Without you, I would have never had the courage to solicit sponsorship from Gold Group alone."
"If you want to thank me, just buy me dinner." Martin grinned.
"No problem." Janet smiled and nodded.
"Alright, let's go back to school. It's time to get even with Hardy." Martin gave a thoughtful smile.
"He certainly wouldn't have thought that we would get a sponsorship that soon. He won't even believe that it's sponsored by the Gold Group!" Janet exclaimed with excitement.
"That's exactly what I want." The smile on Martin's face grew stronger.
Hardy was at the boys' dormitory, room 415.
After Martin returned to school, Fatso learned that Martin wanted to get even with Hardy and quickly followed. They headed straight to the dorm.
"Fatso, knock at the door." Martin said.
"All right!" he nodded and hurriedly came forward to knock at the door.
"Who is it?" a voice spoke, and the door suddenly opened.
Martin saw four people inside and he glanced at Hardy, "Oh, it's you!"
Hardy jumped out of his bed and walked straight up to Martin.
"Why? Did you realize that the task is impossible, so you came to me to beg for mercy?" Hardy sneered and laughed.
Janet said in a cold voice, "Hardy, you're mistaken. We've got the sponsorship."
"What?" Hardy was stunned then burst out laughing.
"You guys are so funny. It's only been less than three hours since I gave you the mission and now, you're telling me that you've got the sponsorship? Do you think I'm that stupid?"
Hardy certainly wouldn't believe that they could get the thirty-thousand-dollar sponsorship that soon.
"I know you won't believe it. It doesn't matter though, I'll show you." Martin replied with a smile. He pulled out the envelope and slammed it to the table and opened it, "Here you go."
Hardy's eyes widened and could not believe what's in front of him.
"This is fucking fake, isn't it? It's a crime to fake counterfeit banknotes!" Hardy exclaimed.
Even if the money was right in front of him, he refused to believe.
"Test it then." Martin clasped his arm and challenged him.
Hardy came forward and checked the money immediately. While testing the money, the smile on his face suddenly disappeared. Hardy saw with his own eyes that all the money were real!
"Is it fake?" Martin smiled and sneered.
"Where did you get all this money?" Hardy asked with a blue face.
Janet responded, "We got it from a sponsor, of course."
"No! No way! Why would anyone sponsor you with such an amount? I think you stole the money, thieves!" Hardy growled.
"Steal? You made stealing sound so easy." Martin Smirked.
Janet also said, "Hardy, we have a sponsorship agreement and the money is sponsored by the Gold Group!"
"What? Gold Group? There is no way that a powerful company like Gold Group would even let you enter the building. I think you're just bluffing!" Hardy's voice became shrill.
"Martin, he is an asshole. Show him the agreement paper." said Fatso.
Martin nodded and came closer to Hardy.
"Hardy, keep your eyes open and take a good look. This is the sponsorship agreement signed by Gold Group with their official seal. This, you cannot fake."
Martin slammed the agreement paper on the table in front of Hardy.
Hardy hurriedly picked up the agreement.
"Gold... Gold Group."
Hardy's hand trembled as soon as he saw what's written on the paper and unconsciously dropped it.
He saw the dazzling red seal stamped on the paper which made him believe.
"I can't believe you got a sponsorship from Gold Group and it only took three hours? How did you do it?" Hardy eyes widened in disbelief. He has never dared to ask a sponsorship from such company before. He cannot believe that Gold Group signed to sponsor them in such a short period of time.
"How did we do it? Would it matter to you? Also, didn't you say that the sponsor has to be a big company? I think the Gold Group is big enough for your condition." Martin said with a smirk.
"Alright, you're good!" Hardy gritted his teeth and glared at him.
Although he finds it hard to believe, he had to admit the fact that they finished the task and he lost.
Just then, Hardy suddenly had an idea, "Now that you have completed the task, you can give me the money and the agreement paper. You have done a great job, Janet. Don't worry, I will give you credit at the meeting of our Foreign Relation Department." Hardy smiled with his evil intention.
Hardy reached for the envelope and the agreement.
