The gentlemen stood upon seeing him. He recognized them as the fools that lost a common woman.

" What can I do for you? He asked nonchalantly

" We found her. The woman that killed your brother " they announced proudly showing him a photo of her

" Where?

" In Asia. She controls a brothel. We couldn't get her cos she's protected by drug lords. I know you're good with things like that" he announced

" Indeed. I want details. Don't leave a single one" he stated.

They gave him every detail they found about her. He smiled on the memory of avenging his brother.

" If I can't find her I'll find you" he threatened but they assured him.

Lucas spent all week preparing for an attack. Bob and Genevieve assisted. Finding drug lords was a military job. So he made sure they were ready.

Audrey didn't disturb him as she knew he won't notice her anyway. She focused on her job and was at the swimming pool sunbathing when Prudence called.

" Sir Lucas wants to see you"

" I'm not interested. Go and tell him that. " She started fiddling with water with her legs.

" He'll be leaving soon. He wants to see you before he leaves"

" Goodbye to him," she said coldly

" Stop being obstinate and go to him. He's having a hard time as it is already. He didn't talk to you because he didn't want you to see him weak and hurting" she snapped but Audrey completely ignored her.

" Miss Audrey I know you're hurt because he abandoned you for a week now but believe me he's suffering too. Sir Preston meant the world to him. Maybe with time, you'll occupy that space but you have to fight for it. " She coerced as her snapping wasn't getting to her.

" Prudence, I hold no grudge against you. please Leave Luke and me to ourselves" she stated without a care in the world while trying to stop herself from crying.

" Where he's going is a dangerous place. You might not see him again" she warned as she stared at her trying to see if she was joking

" For months' she added

" Prudence? Do you think he loves me or I'm forcing myself on him?

" Audrey, Sir Lucas loves you. The fact that he acknowledged you is proof. Don't let people deceive you"

" He treated me like nothing a week ago. " She whimpered on the memory

" He's hot-tempered. You shouldn't take his actions seriously" she coaxed but Audrey didn't follow her. She just sighed and continue fiddling with the water. Prudence felt frustrated, not able to get to her.

" You go. Leave her to me" said Lucas. Prudence left. Audrey ignored him.

" Audrey, I..... " He stuttered. For the first time, he didn't know how to explain what he did or why he did it.

" I shouldn't have abandoned you. My brother died a few years ago. I was twenty-two then. A woman killed him staging it as a car accident unfortunately he made it to the hospital where he was put in a coma. He died two years after. She escaped with millions of dollars belonging to my brother cos he trusted her. Audrey, I am scared of loving you that way. The worst part is I'm terrified that I love you that way already. Forgive me Audrey" he lamented

"Luke, I'm sorry to hear that but I am not that lady neither am I here to curry favor with you or to steal your wealth. I just love you, Luke. You left me naked in the bathroom without taking a second look at me and you completely ignored me for a week because you don't trust me? She snapped

" I want to trust you, Audrey. Stop being mad at me. I need you"

" Yeah. " She said standing up

" S** right? Why don't you have me here and go to your battlefield" she refuted as his face turn sullen from her remark

" I said I'm sorry what else do you want me to say? He snapped

" Tell me what you want from me. Or you won't come to meet me here or this country" she threatened

" I want to be with you, love you, and protect you, Audrey," he said making her calm staring at him. He took the opportunity to hug her.

" I'm sorry Audrey. " He said hugging her tightly.

Prudence and grams were watching how Lucas will coax her and were surprised he was pretty much good at it as she was calm holding him too. Gram sighed gladly she forgave him.

" Let's talk inside. You're wearing a bikini" he sneered covering her with his coat

" I was sunbathing. " She said walking with him inside.

They traveled the next day leaving Audrey behind.
