She was driven to the hotel by Bobby. She entered the resort and everyone welcomed her. She was stunned though. Xander specifically led her to her office.

' How are you feeling now? He asked. She wondered what luke told them

" I'm fine. How were work and your trip? She asked picking her uniform to wear

" Fine. David was a regular these past few days" he announced making her guilty

" I'll talk to him later. Let me have the papers" she ordered as he left to get them.

She entered the fitting room and changed. She checked for reservations and checkout guests.

" Here," he said

" Thank you. You may go. Thanks for covering for me. I owe you one"

" And I'll be sure to collect what you owe" he grinned leaving.

She took her time to glance through the details the whole day that she decided to stay back to continue but Lucas didn't approve. He called her but she was immersed in her work.

Then he sent Genevieve to get her. Perhaps he made a mistake by letting her resume work.

A knock came at her door and she beckoned the person to enter.

" Audrey, where have you been? I was worried sick about you" said David pulling her in a hug.

" I went for a trip, Dave. I didn't mean to trouble you " she lied sitting on her chair

" I haven't heard from you since the shoot out"

" Yeah. It wasn't easy but I'm fine now' she said flipping the papers

" I'm glad to hear it. You look great by the way. Can we go out?

" No. I have lots to catch up with at work. I have to cover the space" she said finding it difficult to tell him the truth

" Then pick your call when I call you," he remarked standing up to leave.

" I'll do that. Sorry for the trouble and thanks for your concern and help" she stated still glancing at the papers.

David initially stood up and left but saw Genevieve pass by. He shook it off and left.

She knocked and knocked and knocked and knocked but no one opened the door. She frowned and called Lucas to inform them.

Lots of things were going through his mind. Was she putting up an act to gain his trust? He decided to call her again and she picked.

" What the hell is going on with you Audrey? What's the time? He yelled

" I'm sorry luke. I was about to call you when I'm done. I won't come home tonight. I have a pile of work to do. Please Luke" she pleaded

" Bring it home. Genevieve is there to pick you up. Open the door and go with her " he said in annoyance ending the call

She sighed and wondered why he's worked up. She was stunned at seeing his missed calls.

She opened the door and saw an exhausted angry Genevieve waiting for her.

" I'm so sorry miss Genevieve. I didn't know it was you. Let me take my bag " she suggested as she said nothing.

Having taken the pile of stuff. She followed her to the car. She drove off . a glimpse at her from the side mirror

" Do you love Lucas? She asked all of a sudden

" Yes I do," she said confidently

" We served together in the military. I know he's a hard man to please. Now, what do you like about him? She was curious to know

" Well, for starters I like his aloof attitude and he's a decent man.. different from other men who will do anything for a night including force. The first time I said no to him. He complied and didn't ask again. I love the fact that he has principles. I love the fact that he's mine. Any woman that wants him needs to fight me for it. " She narrated as she focused on her driving

" He does love you. Don't break his heart unless you'll be closing his heart forever. Obey his orders and unnecessary excuse to not be with him. Remember many are dying to be in your shoes. Cherish your time together. Be loyal to him " she advised

Audrey didn't understand what she meant then but she agreed with her.

" I won't take him for a ride" she assured her

" You better" she stated trafficking

They arrived at the stone house and she went to visit granny first who was already asleep.

She sighed and climbed the stairs to his room looking for an excuse to give.

There he was reading newspapers with glasses on. She didn't know he used glasses.

" Hi." She said kissing him lightly on the lips as he ignored her. Ouch. She deserves that.

" I thought you will be busy today. I didn't hear my phone ring. Luke, I was really busy. " She explained as he shunned her concentrating on reading

" Luke, please look at me. " She beckoned staring at him with teary eyes which he ignored

" Get out Audrey. Go and finish your paperwork" he said coldly

" I'm home right? Did you tell me to come home for this? A cold shoulder? She rant and rant and rant he didn't say a word to her. He just didn't know what to say after Genevieve told him David visited her.

She was tired of speaking to thin air. So she stood up and left. She went to bed on an empty stomach as she didn't have the energy to work not after his resentment.

Morning came sooner than expected. She got dressed and asked after Luke and was told he left already. Genevieve was to drop her off. She couldn't believe they were having their first fight already.

She didn't see him for days and was wondering if it was really about her refusal to pick his calls. She was going to see him today whether he likes it or not.

She didn't even know how to get to his room without direction. So she asked granny who taught her how to go about it including the house loopholes.

After hours of waiting. She heard his car honk and he entered the living room seconds later then he climbed the stairs to his room.

He entered his room and switched on the light surprised to see her there though he ignored her by taking off his wristwatch and shoes. She went forward to help him with the suit jacket.

" Let me" she stated helping him take it off.

She dropped it on the couch and offered to unknot his tie which she was terrible at.

" Still can't unknot a tie? He teased unknotting it while she looked making a mental note on how he did it.

" Luke, what did I do to you? She asked staring at him. She missed him.

" Audrey, come here," he said drawing her closer cupping her cheeks

" Are you still mad at me? She asked leaning her cheek on his big warm hands.

Luke was initially angry with her but seeing her standing in front of him after many days. His anger subsided.

" Let's forget about it. You're not allowed to spend a night outside and if you must please inform me beforehand. Okay? He started letting go of her

" Okay. My mistake. I missed you. I couldn't help but think something else was involved" she exclaimed

" I was busy but I still came home to you Audrey. Be a good girl and wait till I'm done" he coaxed taking off his pants

" I was told you don't stay for breakfast," she said trying to ignore the fact that he was striping in her presence

" I hate breakfast sugar," he said wearing a bathrobe winking at her.

" I knew you were doing it on purpose. You're no gentleman" she accused making him smile

" Second time I have seen you laugh" she refuted as he went to the bathroom ignoring her protest.

A lot of things were running through her mind as she heard the sound of water dripping and the urge to bath with him became stronger. She damned the consequences and went in.

The door clanked open as he turned to look. He smiled knowing who it was. he reached for her and she was standing with him.

" Your clothes Audrey or should I take them off? He said running his hands on her wet body

" I wasn't thinking. I missed you Luke" she whispered erotically.

He smiled and undressed her pressing his body on hers. He washed her thoroughly while she whimpers.

" Too fast? He asked between her lips

" No. Should I wash you? She asked but he shook his head

" I've work to do. I'm afraid I can't make out with you for long. Caresses will do, right? He asked touching her.

He didn't want to start what he can't finish as he knew bobby was on his way with some paperwork for him. He ran his hands on her bare skin cupping her breasts while kissing her.

She held the louvers door while he did his thing.

" Are you that busy? " She asked moaning trying to contain her wetness

" Not really. You're wet Audrey. Maybe my work can wait" he said thrusting into her. ten minutes into the act and Bobby's footsteps were near the bathroom.

He entered as Luke didn't answer his calls. He didn't see Audrey's clothes so he proceeded to the bathroom to look for him as the louvers were preventing him from hearing sounds properly. He called his name on getting to the door.

Lucas stopped thrusting into her and withdraw.

" Bob, what is it? Don't enter my bathroom" he ordered

" Sir Preston's wife has been found and you have a visitor" he announced making his blood boil. He picked a bathrobe to wear while Audrey stared at him. Whatever desire he had for her earlier was gone. Her wetness was gone too.

" Leave and keep them company. I'm on my way" he said coldly as Bob obeyed and left.

He clenched his fist and left the bathroom angrily leaving a disintegrated Audrey to herself. She wondered if he does love her.

She picked a towel and her wet clothes and left the bathroom to see him already dressed without looking at her he walked out.

Without clothes, she couldn't go out so she called prudence to get her some clothes which she did.
