She looked at him then at David who was beckoning her to follow him with his eyes. She wanted to stay to hear what he had to say but stopped. He thinks the world revolves around him. He doesn't get to decide anymore. She held David and left with him leaving a shocked Lucas and his friends bewildered.

" You see how she behaves? She's like a shrew" he accused making them laugh

" I say she's your type. She's mad at you for taking another woman home that is if she's a woman " teased Roman as they entered a round of laughter

" She's a brigadier and a very good one at that." He retorted

" That explains the muscly hands and tomboy appearance," said Will resuming another round of laughter

" Gen Lucas I'm ready to report to duty" she arrived dressed in a military uniform.

The boys stopped laughing. while they admired her stunning uniform appearance.

" You were saying? Mocked Luke shutting Romans jaw from falling off

" You got the best things, Luke. You're just blind to notice them. " Said, Nate

" Shall we? I can't wait to meet your family" she said smiling

" Genevieve, you're here to work. We'll be leaving soon. Join us for breakfast" he simply remarked. Roman pat at the chair beside him telling one of the girls to stand up. She didn't move a muscle.

" Thanks, Sir Roman but I'm fine. I prefer standing for now. I don't want to get filth on myself" she said scornfully

" She knows you all boys. So behave yourself' said Lucas coldly.

They knew when to stop .so they ate in peace. Lucas told the girls to leave and they obeyed leaving one after the other. Genevieve smiled he's still the same.

Audrey and David went on date. She was wearing a uniform so she excused her. She entered the parking lot and the light went off. She knew it was trouble. She entered her car quickly to pick a dagger. She listened carefully and heard the sounds of footsteps. No matter their stealth, she could detect their movement and number.

They were much this time. She couldn't call for help and she wasn't ready to die yet. She thought of what to do. She was confused. She mustered some courage and starts the car.

David was worried she was taken long. so he went to find her. He got to the parking lot and heard gunshots. He panicked. He called the police and went to see. The gunshots alarmed some of the residents who stopped him from entering the lot.

Audrey drove with so much speed out of the parking lot turning on her car light while they fired at her car.

She escaped them narrowly and sighed. She was still in speed before realizing she was going the wrong way. Her car passed Lucas's car and he recognized her at a glimpse. Bobby chased after her.

She stopped in a corner and alighted. She noticed a drop of blood on the ground. She checked where it came from. She muffled and touched her back. The bullet must have hit her when she tried avoiding a bullet to her head. She returned to the car to check how severe it was. Her phone rang but she ignored it as she was feeling dizzy .she tried to remain sober but initially she passed out. Her phone kept ringing but no answer.

Victor was at the scene though he came late. He saw how she drove out of the parking lot and he surrounded it. again he arrested some of them but some escaped. He was confused but he had to talk to her sooner or later.

Bob got to the corner where her car was, parked, and alighted along with Lucas and Genevieve. His friends drove to their various destinations already.

They trailed to the parked car and saw her changing her clothes. She cleaned up pretty fine. Lucas didn't want to ask what happened cos he knows she won't say a word. They returned to the car and watched her drove off. Bobby followed her and waited a mile away as she entered a hospital.

Genevieve was curious to know why they're following the hotel manager but stopped after seeing how worried Lucas was. He ordered Bobb to drive home.

Audrey received medical treatment for her back. She was scared to stay for admission for the fear of being drugged to death by her attackers.

She was scared and broken. Who could want her dead this much? She called victor and was surprised he was already at the hospital.

" Victor who is after my life? She asked hoarsely

" A drug lord. Someone you can't escape from easily. I think you know why they're after you. Audrey, you have to be honest with me if you want federal protection. " He advised.

Audrey wasn't ready to share her history with anyone. They might hate and disrespect her. Victor is a total stranger making it impossible to share it with him. After weighing the possibilities, She spoke.

" I don't know. That's why I'm asking you"

" They will attack you again and again and again till you're dead. Audrey talks to me. You can trust me. I mean no harm. " He said softly

" I don't know. I know self-defense because of harassment." She lied without batting an eye. Gosh she could win an Oscar award for acting

" I'll try and seek federal protection for you but I have another suggestion. " He stated piquing her interest

" What's that? She asked curiously

" Lucas Hamilton: he's an ex-military officer and one of the most influential people in the country. You can stay by his side and they won't hurt you henceforth"

" I don't know him and I don't want to be a hostage pictured as his weakness when he will surely abandon me to die. So no. I ain't weak. Grant me that custody and I'll be fine. " She voiced

" He has no enemy. He's good at finding criminals. They fear him. You need his protection Audrey" he urged but she didn't listen
