Chapter 25: Chapter 25

The cast was finally removed and the wound healed. Lucas was checking out of the hotel that day.

Many cars assembled to escort him home. Security was tight. He emerged from the hotel and walked to board his drive. He stopped and looked up. He was surprised to see her staring down too.

" Sir!! We're ready to move" said Bobby.

He looked for some time and entered the car. Bobby didn't say anything though he knew why he was looking up.

" Sir, I have passed your order to the hotelier" he announced trying to lighten his mood but he just hummed telling him to drive.

Audrey kept looking down till the fleet of cars disappeared into the horizon. She sighed. There goes her last hope of loving a man.

She resumed her work and was surprised her salary increased tenfold. She smiles at least she deserved it for putting up with him.

She made a grocery list and a few lists for her wardrobe. Today was going to be a good day. she drove off.

Victor trailed after her. He parked a meter away from the shopping mall watching her with a telescope.

She was done with grocery shopping. She went into the boutique and bought hundreds of clothes. Lola will be furious she grinned. She was finally done. The boutique clerk helped to carry the bags to the car. She opened the trunk and he put them in, gave him tip and he left. She took the keys from her bag and was about to open the car door when someone dragged her bag and ran away with it. She chased after him but lost him on the way. Her knees were killing her because she wore high heels.

To God be the glory she knew her passport or I.d card wasn't in there. Something she doesn't carry along for a long time now. Though her credit card was in it.

Victor blocked the thief after chasing him for a while. He took the bag from him and arrested him.

Audrey rubbed her ankle limping to the car. Miserable life she cursed. Suddenly a car stopped throwing a bag at her. Victor didn't want her to know he followed or she might be wary of him.

She picked her bag up and checked if everything was intact and it was. She smiled maybe life isn't that horrible. She stopped at the hospital to treat her sprained ankle.

Victor was sure of something she does know about self-defense. Seeing the way she chased the thief. He was tempted to dig more. She came out and entered her car feeling better.

There was a traffic jam on the way she got a glimpse of Victor before she could take a closer look, he wasn't there anymore. She thought she was seeing things.

<< Days later>>

While at the hotel, she saw Jenny Morgan waiting impatiently at the entrance. She walked to her wondering why she's there

" Hi. Do you remember me? She asked

" Yes. You're Mr. Hamilton's friend" she stated closing the entrance door

" I know we aren't friends but I need your help"

" Okay. Let's go inside and talk Miss" she offered to lead her inside.

They were seated and served drinks. Jenny was fiddling with her drink finding it difficult to express herself.

" Miss Morgan, please make it snappy I'm at work and tired. I have a meeting to attend" she voiced

" I want us to be friends and I need a plus one to a party. Please accompany me" she pleaded perhaps she can know the truth from there

" I don't think so. I'm busy" she blandly refused. Jenny isn't a nice girl. She wasn't in the mood for her games

" Lucas will be there. I mean no harm" she said amorously.

Audrey wanted to protest but she wanted to see him though he doesn't want to see her. She missed him somehow.

" Please! "

" Why didn't you ask another person. Why me?

" Because I like you. "

" Hmm. Okay, when is it? She didn't believe her one bit.

"It's a mask party and it's tomorrow evening. I'll send a driver to pick you up" she announced standing up to leave excitedly

" Thanks for listening," she said leaving.

Audrey watched her leave while bobby entered with a letter and a box minutes later

" Good day Miss. My boss asked me to bring you this" said bobby handing them to her.

" Why? She asked sternly not making any intention of taking it from him.

" Read it and you'll know" he replied dropping it on the table leaving

" Obey him for your good after all you started it" he advised then left

She opened the letter and read it. It was an order from Lucas telling them to wait for bobby to pick her up. She was going to be his plus one to every party he had from now on. She frowned and looked at the dress. It was a beautiful black high low dress. He hates her big butt. She looked at the mask and smiled Jenny knew he was going with her so she asked first. Who was she to intervene in her life? She was going with Lucas. How dare she use such measures? She will like to see what she can do but she wanted to avoid the paparazzi too.

Some of the hostesses started to gossip saying she seduced Lucas with her figure and ass. It wasn't something new, she has heard it several times. She didn't know when or how Lucas came up with the sex tactics.
