Chapter 103: Chapter 103

It was almost dusk by the time they all got there. Ava and Lola were nervous to see her. They couldn't stand the sight of seeing her suffering again.

They inquired about her at the front desk and were told to contact them. Vanessa had to call Bobby who came out to show them the way in.

The door was pushed open by Bobby as Lola and Ava hesitated in entering the room praying it wouldn't be an awful sight.

" Come in or leave," said a husky voice from the room which seemed tired and weary. They stepped in afterward fixing their eyes on a sleeping Audrey with machines attached to her mouth and nose. Lola lost her nerves covering her mouth with her hands on seeing her breathing through machines. Though she tried to make it inaudible it was obvious she was sobbing.

" How did this happen? Asked Ava sitting beside her holding her warm hand sorrowfully while Vanessa crunched down at the other side of the bed stupefied.

Luke didn't say a word to them but when they couldn't hold their tears anymore he yelled at them

" She's not dead for christ's sake. If you can't stand it then go and stay with her mother " he snapped pointing at the door

Ava and Lola looked at him in shock.

" She found her mom? Where's she? How is she? They asked as Vanessa looked at them wondering if they didn't hear her say so.

Victor stepped in staring at her unconscious body.

" I'm going to find Ivy even if it's the last thing I do " he vowed

" No need for that. She's with me already. I caught her before this happened. I tried calling Audrey but she wasn't picking. I was too late. My boys couldn't find her on time. It's my fault. " He regretted .clenching his fist.

"Will she be fine? Asked Ava cutting in

" Yes. I'm waiting for her to wake up. Her mom is in the next room. Keep her company. She's aware of Audrey's condition. I wouldn't want her to harm herself in the process of self-guilt. Assure her that she's fine. " He stated sternly

" Yes. I'll keep an eye on her " said Lola who couldn't stand seeing Audrey suffering. Vanessa followed her too while Ava sat down there looking at her sleeping face.

" Sir Lucas, your parents are on their way here. Granny too even your friends" announced Bobby as Lucas nodded without a care in the world. His major priority is lying unconscious. Nothing matters to him at the moment.

Lola and Vanessa went to Patty's room and knocked. They turned the doorknob and stepped in. Patty sat upon seeing them.

" Who are you? What have you done to Audrey? Where's my daughter? She yelled as Lola whimpered backing her to hide her tears. Vanessa moved forward

" She's fine. The operation was successful. She's awake but weak from bleeding too much" she coerced as Patty's eyes lit up in ecstasy

" Really? My daughter is fine? She asked in confirmation

" Yes. We're her best friends. We live together and the man that took her is her man ." She explained as patty nodded beckoning Lola to sit which she did whilst she hugged her.

" It's nice to meet Audrey's mother. She has been looking for you for years. She didn't lose hope despite the difficulties she faced. She believed you were alive. Had we believed her then, she wouldn't have gone herself" said Lola muttering the last part to herself.

" Have you eaten? Asked Vanessa brushing her brown hair mainly to soothe herself

" Has Audrey eaten? I'll eat with her. " She said sternly not giving room for argument

" She has eaten" persuaded Vanessa

" I'm not a child. I want to see my daughter. No one is letting me leave. Caging me like Ivy. " She protests in anger

" Okay okay. We'll call for you when Audrey is hungry" coaxed Lola sniffling. They kept her company telling tales of Audrey's bravery and entitlement. Patty calmed down thus slept off.

The Hamiltons came rushing in the next day: granny, Fiona, Hugh, and Stella including Genevieve. Followed by Luke's four friends. One look at them and one could tell they were a prestigious family.

Initially, the nurses were surprised to see a crowd of people entering the room but held it in at the sight of the four beauties. They ogled with the othe opened jaw.

" What happened Luke? Why didn't you tell us sooner " granny blamed him

" I don't know granny. I don't know anything anymore" he muttered

" Luke, she's going to be fine," said Will tapping his shoulder

" She won't let your efforts go to waste " Nathan added looking at the sleeping Audrey

Granny sat beside her holding her warm hands. She sighed.

" She'll be fine son," said Hugh hugging him Fiona prayed silently for her to wake up unless Luke will be lost to them again.

" My daughter-in-law is a brave woman. She'll live " said Fiona checking her temperature.

Granny saw the black circles in Lucas's eyes and whispered to his friends to take him out to eat or change.

" Buddy, let's leave the Ladies to their talk. Perhaps she might wake up to their voices" coerced Peter urging him to stand up.

" You know she cherishes your handsomeness. You wouldn't want to disappoint her. Would you? Added Nate.

" C'mon. Let's give them space " suggested Will dragging him up. Luke reluctantly followed them as he watched granny take his seat.

Stella stepped forward with a rosary putting it around her neck while Fiona wiped her hands with a handkerchief.

" You and Luke will grow old together and have many children for us. The sooner you wake up to begin the better" said granny grinning.

" I won't accept another daughter-in-law except you. We don't care about your past. The future is what we're concerned about. Your Future with Luke" added Fiona still wiping her fingers.

" You came into the Hamilton family like a miracle and you'll wake up miraculously. You're meant to do great things Audrey" said Stella touching the rosary

" You finally found your mother. Do you want her to die in self-blame? The guilt of sending your only child to her death? No right? Then wake up and hug her. That will be wonderful right? Just wake up Audrey. Luke is waiting for you. " Stated granny kissing her on her forehead.

The boys took Luke to an eatery but he had no appetite. He happens to see a girl smiling and recalled her smile. His face darkens.

" I've to go. Nothing passes through guys" he voiced standing up to leave

" Fine. Change your clothes perhaps take a shower too " said, Roman

" I'm fine. Thanks for coming" he stated leaving. They trailed after him.

Victor and Ava went to visit Audrey's mom personally. She didn't speak anymore as they denied her access to move around.

They tried holding a conversation but she said nothing. Ava giggled finding it difficult to believe that Audrey risked her life to save her mom from her aunt. It's quite unfortunate she thought.

" Ava, Audrey is a fighter both physically and medically. She'll wake up" coerced Victor picking up a photo of Roger which was lying on the bed. Patty grabbed it from him forcefully tugging it to her chest.

Victor looked at it as Ava looked at it too. A photo of Audrey's father perhaps taking Patty to Audrey won't be a bad idea.

" Miss Patty, let's go and see Audrey" she suggested as Patty stood up immediately opening the doorknob already. Victor and Ava looked amused.

They entered the room whilst Patty ran to her.

" Audrey...." She muttered as the Hamiltons gave her space to talk to her. Patty held her hands and caressed her hair.

" My poor baby. I'm sorry for putting you through this. I'm sorry for pushing you away. I'm sorry Audrey, your Dad suddenly left me without a warning. It broke me and looking at you wasn't making it easy for me. I was wrong then. I refused to see what he left me, a replica of himself. If you'll allow me I want to cherish you, to love you, spoil you. I know it's too late but I want to be there for you. Mommy is sorry Audrey. Mommy is so sorry" she wept bitterly on her chest as Fiona walked towards her in consolation.

" I did this to my daughter. Roger's daughter. I'm a bad mother. Ivy wouldn't have gotten her way have I not been in a coma. I'm a bad mother" she slapped herself as Granny stopped her while Luke stood by the door watching the whole scenario intrigued

" It's not your fault. Audrey isn't blaming you. She needs you. Make it up to her and stay by her side. That's what she would have wanted" said Luke as they turned back to look at him

" I will. I will. I'm here now. No one can hurt us again. Mommy is here Audrey. Please wake up" she pleaded.

Luke knew she was remorseful. Audrey wouldn't blame her either. Indeed she needed her. He acted just like her mother seeing someone else in her when he should have looked at her beautiful soul. He contributed to it too he concluded hoping she'll wake up soon. He'll spend his life making it up to her.
