Chapter 102: Chapter 102

The last floor was still crumbling, Patty panicked trying to remove the remaining debris as they were almost at the exit. She dragged her despite the weight of the debris on her which she couldn't remove from her legs. She successfully moved her to a safer place while the crumbling sound stopped. She looked at Audrey putting her head on her lap without a move. She began to sing the song " you're my sunshine" while crying in confusion and grief.

The tracking was done whilst Lucas headed to the precinct. He splints towards the parked car looking around then saw a crumbled building. He suddenly became nervous running as fast as he could in the direction. He searched around and heard Patty's cries. He froze as he went further to see Audrey in a critical state. Lucas didn't know what happened but he felt like his whole world crumbled. The feeling of losing her overwhelmed him as he bent down pushing the debris off her. He looked some more and noticed something piercing his legs. His palms became sweaty as he tried to release her then the medic ran his way.

" Sir, don't remove the iron it'll make her bleed profusely" he warned

" Audrey!!! Hey, talk to me. Audrey, please talk to me. " He whispered holding her. Patty just sat beside her dejected. She can't take losing her too not after so many years of her absence.

" She did it to save me. It's my fault my daughter is dead. It's my fault" only then did Luke realize she was her mother. He didn't say a word but used his eyes to give orders and she was led out of the place trembling in tears.

Luke freed her legs though the iron was still there. He gave her CPR continuously till she developed a pulse though she didn't open her eyes.

" Audrey, I'm here. Your Luke is here. Don't die on me. Please" he pleaded still giving CPR.

Luke felt horrible just like he felt when his brother was involved in an accident. He had received a call and went there to see Preston in a pool of blood just like Audrey was. His suit was stained with her blood. He didn't want to go through the same process again.

" Save her. I'll kill every one of you if she dies". He threatened with red eyes still holding her.

The paramedics took over trying their best to remove the iron so that she can be moved.

Patty was muttering and Calling for Audrey.

" Do your job. Stop the bleeding bastards" he caused as the doctors did as he asked. The bleeding was under control while they focused on the legs.

They succeeded in reducing the length of the iron rod then prepared her for the hospital. Luke carried her holding her hands while praying. Something he hasn't done before.

" God, if you're up there. Please save Audrey. I don't want to lose her. I promise to give her my undying love. Take care of her, please Don't take her away from me. I can't lose her too. She's the last piece of me. I need her in my life" he said as tears dropped from his eyes.

They arrived at the best private hospital. The emergency team came out with a stretcher rolling her into the theatre hurriedly while Luke stayed back to make deposits.

He was outside the theatre room pacing to and fro praying for her life. while calling for different surgeons as the surgery was taking too long.

The surgery took all night as they had to remove the rod and stop internal bleedings which were done by the internal medicine team. A neurologist entered too. Cardiology entered later. It was a big operation as it was recorded live.

Patty was admitted to the hospital too for a check-up. She was given sedatives to prevent her from crying and also to relax her brain nerves which she was overstressing.

Bobby received news from his boys and told Vanessa who went to Lola and Ava's house.

" Vanessa, come inside," said Ava inviting her in

" No need. Audrey has been hospitalized. She's fighting for her life as we speak. Sir Luke is there. The surgery is a complicated one. She found her mom too " she announced wiping the little drop of tears from her eyes.

Ava almost fainted from the sudden news. Lola fainted on hearing it. They had to resuscitate her with water.

" Are you coming or not? Asked Vanessa who seems to be in a hurry. Lola sat up in shock as she broke out into tears.

" Lola, let's go. She needs us " said Vanessa holding the urge to cry too.

Ava leaned against the wall wondering why she didn't ask for their help. She always did things her way. Maybe it's because she believed and they didn't.

They sprint out of the house to see Victor outside. The looks on their faces gave them away as Victor could tell it was about Audrey besides Luke asked after her before.

" I'm coming with you" he stated entering his car while they drove off.

He was told what happened on the way. The flight was quiet though Lola and Ava's sobs filled the air. Victor wished the pilot can hasten up.

The operation took about a whole day till they rounded up. The surgeons and nurses were exhausted by the time they finished.

" She's stable" the head surgeons informed him

" Then where's she? I want to see her? He ordered as she was rolled out of the hospital operation room by nurses.

" Audrey? Why isn't she awake? He asked vexed. They spent almost a whole day in there and yet she was still unconscious? What changed he wondered glaring at them. The nurses stiffened as they could tell he wasn't just any kind of person.

" She just undergoes a major operation, Sir Hamilton. It's normal for her to be unconscious. She fought well and she's exhausted too. " He said politely explaining in the best way he can to avoiding infuriating him the more.

" Fine. I want the best room for her " he stated as the nurses nodded rolling her to an exclusive private room.

He trailed behind as she was rolled to the room and put on the bed.

" Five nurses are to attend to her. Money isn't a problem. " He requested as the head doctor met his needs assigning five nurses to her. She needed a close watch after all.

The nurses kept stealing glances at him gaping at his flawless cuteness though he was scary. They just admired him that's all.

" Fetch a new cloth for her. I need toiletries for her. So who's buying? He asked coldly as one of the nurses volunteered. He handed her a credit card listing what he wanted her to buy.

" Buy whatever ladies use. You're a lady. Buy genuine products only" he ordered as the nurse nodded leaving.

He went forward to hold her hand kissing it. The three nurses looked at each other and continued what they were doing. They watched as he checked if she was still breathing and he eventually checked her heartbeat. He looked at her bandaged legs and sniffled. Indeed she has gone through so much yet he blamed her. He insulted her. He ridiculed her for a past occurrence. He wished he could take everything back perhaps set things right. Viola wouldn't have succeeded in her plans if he had been there. He blamed himself.

Now she's fighting for her life because he pushed her away perhaps she was always scared of him. Even if he was mad at her which he wasn't at the moment, he would have helped her had she came to him. Perhaps she was used to depending on herself than others. He intends to change that.
