Trash of a Wealthy Family: My Gacha System Guarantees S-Rank Rewards Chapter 48
"Hold up and state your identity..." a loud voice broke me out of my thoughts.
As my boat was nearing, I saw 3 demon guards, with 2 pointing their weapons at me.
Their eyes were more wary than hostile; I let my boat touch the edge of the port. I didn’t want to start the journey from a misunderstanding.
After mooring my boat at the port, I got out and put my foot on the demon continent under a spear aimed at me.
"Hello, I am Aiden Origin. I am coming here from Arnold Port City, and I am here to participate in the tournament." I gave my introduction along with the purpose of my visit.
"Show your ID, and why are you on a boat instead of disembarking like other regular people?" the demon standing in the middle asked.
"Ohh...that’s because my ship couldn’t sail to the port, so I used this boat to come here," I answered while I showed my ID.
"Are you alone?" He asked further.
"Yeah, at present. Could I ask where I would need to go in order to register for the tournament?" I responded with my added question.
"Go to the square of the city; there you will find posters about registration. You will find your answers there," he answered.
"Don’t cause any trouble and follow the rules. Welcome to Ardenia City in Kronesthion," he added.
"Thank you," I replied in response and walked forward. I had just taken a few steps when the system panel flickered alive.
[Congratulations, host, on unlocking a new temporary banner—the Pact of Kronesthion banner.]
My steps halted for a few seconds, and I resumed my walk again with a little smile.
"They were demons, Boss?" Thane questioned.
"Yeah, why did you expect something different?" I responded.
"Kind of. I thought they would be grotesque, malicious, and dark energy would be spewing out from them," he shared his thoughts.
"No, the demons are generally divided into vampires, werewolves, lust demons, imps, and mutated demons. They were either imps or mutated demons; they are hard to differentiate sometimes," I explained.
"So where to, boss, for registration first?" he asked.
"Earlier, that was my plan, but now I want to try something before we proceed," I answered.
"You are going to try that absurd reward thingy, aren’t you?" He spoke.
"Yeah, let’s look for an inn or hotel to get a room. I was thinking of spending some time here anyway before we moved to tournament city," I replied.
The environment of the city was not much different than Arnold Port City except this was populated heavily by demons. I also saw few elven merchants and humans, going on about their work.
After walking for a bit and asking around, I found a decent hotel, not too far away from City Square. However, just as I entered the hotel, an ugly scene unfolded before me.
Four demons were surrounding a girl, who appeared to be half-elf. Her ears were long but didn’t have that pointed long shape of elves, but she was beautiful nonetheless.
"What’s the hurry, hybrid? Young master is graciously allowing you to accompany him in his room, and here you are throwing tantrums," a demon spoke, who was likely a vampire with his pale complexion and skinny build.
The whole group was of vampires. I activated my Insight eye to get information about the group in this situation first.

The other two demons were also Grandmaster-rank; after looking at the details, I understood immediately.
The weak young master Valsard won’t be able to force the Ascendant Rank, so he brought three bullies with him.
Thane, noticing me watching the spectacle, asked, "Are you planning on interfering, boss?"
"Yes, now that I am a bit distant from Arclight’s reach. I have to make my name famous now if I want to establish a city."
"That’s why this tournament will serve two purposes, it would only bolster my strength and make me famous for my own deed."
"Plus, I need citizens for my city. I can’t make a city that is only inhabited by my summons. I mean, I could, but that would be a bit redundant..." As I was explaining, my eyes caught the movement of one vampire bully.
Immediately, I moved and caught the hand approaching the girl, Eoren, as I stood beside her.
"Really, I thought vampires had the charm, but if she doesn’t want to go...then you guys should leave." I addressed.
They were a bit perplexed at my arrival; they backed off a little except Simon, whose hand I was holding.
"Who are you, and why are you butting in?" Simon asked, failing to get his hand freed from my grip.
"Aiden Origin, pleased to have your acquaintance. As to why I am butting in, it’s nothing special; I just feel like butting in." I gave the answer; I knew they wouldn’t like.
"Aah...before you try giving me a threat about your pathetic young master. I don’t care, so remember that and the way you are wriggling to free your hand but are unable to do so."
"This should make it pretty clear: I am strong, so why don’t we go our merry way and forget this happened?" I finished my little entry speech and freed the hand.
Simon hurriedly stepped back, holding his hand with marks of my fingers. He whispered something to his young master, who, to my amazement, wasn’t looking worried or anything.
On the contrary, he looked a bit calm. As they finished whispering, the young master Rhegar Valsard spoke, almost casually, "Your name is Aiden, right? I will remember that." With that, they turned around and left the premises promptly.
’That was a bit anticlimactic,’ I thought. I was ready for a small skirmish to test out the limits of my new strength.
"Ahh...thank you for standing up for me," the voice from behind me pulled me out of my thoughts.
"It’s okay, there’s no need to thank me..." I stretched my words a bit; I couldn’t address her by her name. That would make me the creep.
"Sorry, I am Eoren Lifeshard; as you can see, I am half-elf. So thank you once again for standing up for someone like me," she insisted.
"No, that’s fine. It doesn’t matter to me who you are; it looked like you needed help. So I stepped up..." I replied but was interrupted by a voice behind.
"Thank you, sir, for stopping those people. We couldn’t act because he was with the invigilator of the tournament." A sweet voice entered my ears, but the information was alarming to me.
Immediately, I turned around and asked the lady behind me, "He’s with who again?"
"He came to town a few days ago with the tournament’s registration invigilator." She answered.
’Ooh...it looks like I made my registration a little bit harder.’ Now, I knew why that young master was a bit too calm.
