Trash of a Wealthy Family: My Gacha System Guarantees S-Rank Rewards Chapter 57

After exiting the hotel, I started searching for public transport to travel to Roxaban City, the place where tournament takes place.

"Boss, why don’t we use the Tidebreaker?" Thane asked.

"I am tempted to fly in the air too but I want to gather info about the tournament without getting in eyes of the information clan and guilds."

"Because I am sure Nathan would be looking for me, especially after his failed orchestrated attack on me. But I hope he likes my present," I stated as a satisfying smile appeared on my face.

"What’s with the smile Boss and when did you sent him a present?" Thane aksed.

"Tsk...you sure are chatty for being made from bones. Can’t you shut your jaws shut and let master me in peace," Damien interjected.

"Hey new guy, don’t interrupt, I rarely see boss with such a genuine smile," he shot back, "tell us boss?" he questioned.

"Well, I am positive that he would have gotten news of me reaching Kronesthion and White Claw being unreachable and unavailable by now. Looking at the circumstances, he will come to doubt that I may have a hand in this,"

"However, he neither will be able to confirm anytime soon nor deny completely that I am the one behind it. This will give him quite the headache for sometime, at least until I prepare something new for him," I explained.

"Now, I am feeling sorry for the poor guy," Thane remarked.

"Huh...he deserves to have sleepless night forever, until I killed him with my own hand, for trying to hurt my master," Damien boasted.

"Okay, let’s use public transport this time," I remarked as I gave the fare for two for Roxaban City.

After boarding the public compartment I found a seat that can gives me good look to whole compartment. It was half full already and within few minutes, it was full and ready to leave.

"Damien, you focus on one side and I wound focus on another. Share your senses with me if you found something useful," I ordered.

"As you wish, Master," he accepted.

During cultivation days, I also learned a about vampires lot from my genetic memory. It’s still a lot of information to process, but I got the gist about ways to vampire physiology properly.

"Thane, you stay just as you are," I added.

"Will do boss," he agreed.

With that, I closed my eyes and started focusing on the conversation around. But one thing that kept hitting me at back of my mind from yesterday.

’What’s the reason for all the mythical beast and even world tree to be at stage of extinctions. I couldn’t wrap my head around this problem, even system was not ready to answer this.’ My thoughts strayed.

’Well, I will. worry about this later, there’s no point in beating myself up over it,’ I consoled myself as I focused on conversation nearby.

The first important bit, I heard was two vampires talking.

"Did you get any skills from your dungeon run?" the first vampire asked.

"Some but nothing worth mentioning, tell me about you. You went to the auction to buy skills, how much did it emptied your pockets?" the second vampire questioned.

"I was way over my head thinking a common vampire like me has the chance. Every bid was 20-30% higher then normal, still every skill sold up immediately at high prices. That’s I am talking about C and D rank skills." The first vampire answered.

"Forget about B-rank, they were sold in a private auction, at the cost of around hundred 100 A-rank stones. I should have gone with you for the dungeon run. Whatever, we still get to experience the teleportation this time," the first vampire added.

"Yeah, that is the only milestone I see myself completing," the second vampire laughed off, joined by first vampire.

Moving onto the next conversation, my ears caught a party of three werewolves talking.

"Man, I am telling you, this time we werewolves are going to plunder all the rewards. With Marion taking the first place and a few other strong werewolves, we will practically be hogging all the top places." The first werewolf stated enthusiastically.

"You may be right about Marion, Shane. However, I still doubt that other demons will let us have that monopoly," the second werewolf stated.

"It has been so long that the council pushed the tournament one year earlier, just to let Marion have his limelight. What do you think he will wish for?" The third werewolf asked.

"I don’t know what his wish will be; we can’t get into the mindset of such a champion. But what I am worried about is how it would affect the council. Many vampire lords weren’t happy about this decision," Shane, the first werewolf, stated.

"That’s just politics, and what are you going to do, thinking about it? Hahaha..." the third werewolf rebuked him as he laughed.

Jumping on the next conversation from them, I heard about 5-6 conversations, but most started repeating the same information: Marion is like a declared winner, all is not well in the council, and a succubus is the girlfriend of Marion.

That last piece of news was much more discussed than needed. As we neared our destination, I asked Damien, "Do you hear anything of importance?"

"Nothing worth disturbing you, Master," he answered.

There probably was little important info, but I guess in Damien’s eyes, they were nothing in front of his god. I decided to let him be for now.

Soon we reached the gate of Roxaban City. Generally, we would enter inside directly, but due to security reasons, everyone was stopped outside the gate. The entry was only possible after ID verification.

Just as we exited the transport, a group of four mutated demons blocked our way.

One with a huge build and toned muscles said, "What is a kid doing here with a weak vampire who has become the bodyguard of a human...haha...don’t tell me you are here for the tournament," he laughed.

Just as he was about to put his hand on my shoulder, his hand itself suddenly fell off.

Damien appeared in front and spoke in a condescending voice, "A vermin should never even think about laying his on the master."

The toned, muscled guy fell to the ground, holding his hand and started wailing with agonizing pain.

The other three looked like they had seen a ghost. Damien moved again with a speed that even I couldn’t follow with my increased stats.

The next moment, all three also joined the first guy, losing their half of the arm.

"Forgive me, master. I acted without your permission. However, I couldn’t let these ruffians lay a hand on you." Damien spoke with his head bowed.

"No worries, but next time at least tell me first," I stated as we entered the city after verification.

After roaming the streets for some time, everywhere there was only the chatter about the tournament. However, most information I received was similar to that during transport, only with a personal flair from their own sides.

In the next few minutes, I found an inn to stay in until the tournament starts. The prices had spiked very high; even then it was difficult.

There were about three days before the tournament started, and I decided to dedicate my time to the cultivation. I may not be able to open the 7th node, but this much is enough to dominate the tournament.
