Chapter 92: Chapter 92
Just as Jonea was about to break away from Hunter's arms and Aland watched her, the girl's cell phone rang. Jonea checks her phone and answers the call.
"Hello, Mom?"
There was the sound of her mother sobbing.
"Mom? What is it?" Jonea panicked.
"Jonea…." The mother's voice sounded so panicked and worried. Jonea also heard the screams and anger of someone behind her mother.
"What's wrong, Mom? What happened? Who's with you?"
"Jonea, listen to me! Please, get out of there. Give up all your efforts to expose Miller and return to the village. Stop it all. We won't be able to fight those guys."
Jonea did not understand her mother's words. Everything is too sudden. "What exactly happened there, Mom? Tell me."
"They will never stop. Even after taking our shops and houses, they still chase us all the way to the village. Some people came and kicked us out of the house. Our agricultural fields have also been damaged."
"What?!" Jonea could not hear her mother's confession.
"They bought our houses and farms by force. I can't explain it to you over the phone. I doubt our conversation is safe. For your safety and that of all of us, stop now and get as far away from those people as possible."
Jonea's mother's voice was sobbing, and the call was cut off.
"Mom?" cried Jonea. "Mommy!"
Jonea tried to contact her mother again, but her cell phone was off.
"What's wrong, Jonea?" Hunter was also worried. "Something happened to your mother?"
"Let me go!" Jonea rebelled and tried to run from Hunter. She hailed a taxi that sped closer.
Aland also just received a message. He chased after Jonea and restrained the girl. "Come with me, Jonea. I'll take you."
"No, Aland. I have to return to the village and ensure my family is okay."
"There are more pressing matters, Jonea. I just got word from the hospital. It's about Marilyn."
Jonea really couldn't think straight right now. The confusion about her parents and family in the village has not been answered; now, it is coupled with the bad news that has occurred to Marlyn in the hospital.
Jonea tries to be strong even though her interior is fragile and broken. Finally, Jonea went with Aland to the hospital.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Jonea saw Marlyn's parents screaming hysterically in the hallway. They went berserk and even threw some stuff in the hospital hallway. Doctors, nurses, and security guards tried to calm them down.
"Why?" she shouted. "What happened to Marlyn?"
"Jonea!" Marlyn's mother was crying hysterically. She hugged Jona tightly. "Please tell them. You're friends with those rich people's kids. Tell them not to kick Marlyn out of the hospital. Currently, her condition is critical. She\e can not be separated from medical aids. Meanwhile, these people are trying to get Marlyn out of the hospital."
Aland was shocked and immediately spoke to the doctor. "What are you doing? Why do you expel patients treated in the ICU inhumanely?"
The doctor didn't say much.
"Excuse me. This is hospital policy. The ICU room is currently full. Patients continue to grow. The hospital rejected Marlyn's family's request to extend the treatment period. She should have been taken to the hospital for the human race. Our priority is the werewolves."
"What do you mean? I'm paying for all the hospital fees! Provide the best facilities for Marlyn!"
The doctor just shook his head.
Marlyn’s mom was wailing hysterically. "We've been trying to move her. However, no hospital was willing to accept and accommodate our daughter. They are all downright mean. They used their power to kill my daughter!"
Aland clenched his fists tightly. The only way is to move Marlyn to the health facility in Pack Hamilton, just outside of town.
"This is very risky, but all the hospitals in this city are already controlled by the Abraham Group."
"What exactly is our fault?" shouted Marlyn's mother.
Aland contacted someone. It didn't take long for Aland's face to turn to disappointment. He turned off the phone and conveyed his sadness to Jonea.
"Can't Marlyn be saved?" asked Jonea with a pleading face to Aland.
"My family also threatened me. They will return me to the pack if I keep up the fight against the Abraham Group."
On the other hand, Edison and Elmar also received the same threat.
Edison received news that most of their nightclub business was being disrupted by state officials who supported the Abraham Group. The company's condition is being threatened if Ed supports Jonea.
Meanwhile, Elmar was contacted by the agency and received threats that his career in the entertainment world would be destroyed. If Elmar continues to fight against the Abraham group and helps Jonea.
Jonea phone rang again. When she was at the peak of despair and did not know what to do, someone contacted her via a private number.
"Hello?"
"You understand now?" Mrs. Abraham said over the phone.
The girl's eyes widened in disbelief. She was so angry and walked away from the crowd. Jonea needed time to talk to Mrs. Abraham and work through all the problems.
"Isn't this going too far? It's not enough to ruin Miller's future; now you also involve the people around me?"
"I don't have much time to talk to you over the phone. If there's anything you want to discuss, ask, or even negotiate with me, you know where to look for me.
Before Jonea answered, Hunter had snatched the cell phone from Jonea's hand.
"Stop all these games, Mom! You've gone too far. I won't let you hurt Jonea and destroy the lives of those around her. Including destroying the lives of my friends."
Mrs. Abraham was surprised that it was Hunter who spoke to her.
"Don't meddle in my business, Hunter Abraham. You have failed in your task. Let me finish these delinquent students," said the mother.
Call disconnected. Hunter returned the phone to Jonea.
Hunter received a message from the bank. All credit cards and savings were frozen by the mother. In fact, Hunter is also penalized and can no longer lead the pack for an indefinite time limit.
Jonea fell silent and thought things through with a clear head. She remembered Safira's message before flying to Auckland.
"Don't falter, Jonea. You will encounter difficult situations every time you encounter the werewolf race. As a minority, you must remain confident in the path you choose. Every time you do something right, there's something to trade-off. Use every pain you feel as fuel to push yourself to be even stronger."
Jonea clenched her fists very tightly. She watched Marlyn's parents crying desperately in the hospital hallway. They kept begging the doctor so that Marlyn would be allowed to get proper treatment.
Jonea watched Aland and Hunter. They are also frustrated because their respective families limit their access to becoming alpha.
Jonea remembered how Miller had suffered all this time. The people around her must also suffer.
"This is all because I was slow to uncover the source of the problem. She thinks she can make me give up with just things like this?" Jonea was talking to herself.
With both hands tightly clenched, Jonea backed away slowly and ran as hard as she could to leave the hospital.
That's where Jonea is right now. She stood in front of Abraham's family house, which was so luxurious and magnificent. The girl stared at the palace-like building with a look full of anger and hatred.
Jonea walked over the fence. She was immediately intercepted by the house guards. The girl did not want to be stopped.
"Get out, coward! Show yourself! Do you think I'll give up? I came to meet you in person!"
