Chapter 42: Chapter 42

"What do you want to talk to me about?" Jonea said in a soft and polite tone. She behaved like an educated and respectable woman.

The three members of B4 became shy instantly. Each of them cleared their throats and fixed their previously emotional attitude. Now, they are calmer and more restrained. However, a lot of questions and curiosity raged in their heads.

"Marilyn Monroe?" Aland said the name coldly and glared at Jonea.

Elmar closed his eyes momentarily and seemed to hold back his anger. He stared intently at Edison.

"You said she's... your mate? Then what about Ashley Simpson--the Luna you've been proud of? How quickly did you change your mate?"

"Ha ha ha..." Edison laughed stiffly. He didn't know how to behave in front of his three best friends. "I was just kidding," said Ed. "Please, don't let Ashley hear this incident, or she will be angry."

The one who was hurt the most was Hunter. It was as if he was the only one who knew nothing. Hunter didn't even know who Marlyn Monroe was and how the woman in front of him, who he thought was Miller Fallon, was now recognized as Edison's mate.

"Who are you?" hissed Hunter. "Are you… Miller?"

"What do you mean, Hunter?" Ed suddenly cut in. "Their faces are similar. But why do you ask that?"

Jonea stood with extraordinary grace. Her expression was so serene. Although inside her chest, she kept a sense of panic and exceptional fear. Ed's left hand was still supporting the girl's back. Jonea felt a little calm because someone was helping her.

"She's my sister," said Miller, who suddenly stood behind them.

Miller has removed his armor and now looks like an ordinary young man. The honest Marlyn Monroe also stood beside Miller nervously. She watched the four members of B4, who were so handsome, surround Jonea one by one.

'How can the girls not be crazy about them?' thought Marlyn. 'Oh, except for Jonea, of course. She's… not normal!'

"So this girl who claims to be Marilyn Monroe is your sister?" Elmar asked Miller.

"Marlyn Monroe?" Miller almost laughed. "Do you know her as Marlyn Monroe? This is the first time Jonea has come to Abraham High School. I'm the one who invited her. Because she wants to..." Miller nervously didn't know what to make up to make excuses to the four intimidating men.

"After winter break, I will transfer to this school," Jonea said firmly and loudly.

They all turned to Jonea and showed shocked reactions--believe it or not.

"You... what?" Ed had to repeat his question.

"Thought you knew her, Ed?" inquired Hunter.

"Yes! Ha ha ha... Of course, I know her." Edison looked nervous. "I was just a little joking with you guys. She asked me to show her around the school. Because she said she was interested and wanted to transfer to this school. Right, Jonea?"

Jonea winked once. She introduced herself formally in front of the B4 members.

"Sorry if my presence caused a bit of a commotion. I don't know why you guys are running and chasing me and want to talk to me. Introducing myself; my name is Jonea Fallon. You can call me Jonea. I'm Miller Fallon's older sister. We're non-identical twins."

Elmar whistled. Aland seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. As for Hunter, he was still holding his jaw, which continued to chatter in annoyance. Edison looked away because he didn't want his lies to be exposed.

"After having an accident the other day, the school came to see Miller at home. They offered me a full scholarship for me too. Initially, I refused. However, after coming here and witnessing how interesting this school is, I was determined to study here," Jonea said in a firm tone.

Marlyn and Miller could only gape in disbelief, still standing behind the B4 members.

"That time we met at the hospital." Elmar started the conversation.

Jonea lowered her head slightly. "Of course, I won't forget Elmar Delamo. Nice to meet you again. Hopefully, we can work together later."

"Marilyn Monroe?" Aland quipped sarcastically.

Jonea turned to Aland and looked down. She smiled calmly. "Thank you for your assistance over the past two days, Aland Hamilton. I will never forget your kindness. Hopefully, we can work together in the future."

"Why did you introduce yourself with a fake name?" hissed Aland.

"That was not an intention. Because, that night, I only worked as a substitute. Supposedly, Marlyn was working serving the party that night. However, because she was sick and unable to come, I took her place."

Jonea also introduced the honest Marilyn Monroe. "She was my best friend in art school."

Hunter almost exploded. He just realized he was the only one who felt stupid, his three other friends.

"Hunter Abraham," Jonea greeted gently. "Thank you for taking care of my bro all this time. I hear you make a fun roommate. Isn't that right, Miller?"

The clueless Miller instantly became nervous. "Y-yes, of course," he said. "Lately, I feel like I'm not doing well. Maybe I'll ask for a leave from school and rest for a while."

Miller tries to avoid anyone who knows him. There is a sense of fear beneath his subconscious. However, he needs to remember what happened. But, when Miller ventured to step foot in Abraham High School, he felt tremendous pressure. There was a feeling of chills that couldn't be explained.

"Excuse me first. Sorry if you can't attend the auction event until the end. And, Edison, thanks for this little tour. I appreciate your help. We hope to work together in the future.

Ed raised both hands in resignation and breathed a sigh of relief. "See you at school after winter break, Jonea. You have a name as pretty as your face."

Jonea walked, accompanied by Marlyn and also Miller leaving school.

When they left the school grounds and got into the SUV driven by Jonea's parents, they screamed and released the tension in each other's bodies.

"Are you crazy, Jonea? What did you do?" shouted Marlyn. "Everything happened outside of our plan. You almost killed us all. You know, it's a wolf den?"

"Oh, God!" Jonea said while straightening her aching back and legs. "Thank you, Miller. Because you came and saved me."

Miller shook his head gloomily. "It was all Mom's idea. She forced and convinced me to come. Mama thought maybe if I came to school, it would help to restore my memory."

Jonea and Marlyn fell silent. They barely thought about how Miller was feeling right now.

"Are you okay?" asked Jonea, holding her brother's hand.

She saw a significant change in Miller. Suppose Miller had previously always refused and was on the defensive. In that case, he has begun cooperating to help restore the memories he is trying to avoid.

Miller shook his head. "I still don't remember anything even though I had entered the school and met some students. But, no one I recognize."

"It's okay," comforted Jonea. "Just take it slow. You don't have to force yourself. I think your decision to say you're going to take time off is correct. You don't have to come over there and force yourself."

"Then, what about yourself, Jonea?" asked the mother sitting behind the wheel. "I was apprehensive about you. Did they hurt you?" She saw Jonea in the rearview mirror.

"I have to do what I said, Mom. I will continue my investigation and search. I've pocketed some of the evidence I got from Hunter's laptop. However, the evidence is only secondary evidence. I still need to access the security room and look up the surveillance camera footage on the day of the incident."

"But you can't go back there as a Miller anymore," Marlyn said.

"I'm going back there as myself--Jonea Fallon. I will accept the offer from the foundation and take a scholarship to study there for a full year."

"Phew!" cried Marlyn. "You are unpredictable."

"How do you convince Edison to help you through that?" Marley was very curious. "If even Edison turned against you earlier, then we wouldn't be able to get out of there."

Jonea looked down and clutched the black coat Edison had draped over her minutes before Miller appeared.

"Because I kept one Edison secret." Jonea smiled triumphantly.
