Chapter 29: Chapter 29
"Ahem, you still dare to come back here?" said Hunter curtly, turning his back to his dorm room door.
Hunter thought Miller would still be standing in the doorway, his legs trembling with fear. Imagining that, Hunter felt very satisfied and smiled to himself. He continued his grumbling.
"I already cleaned your room. Don't think because I was kind and cleaned up the previous mess. No! I'm doing it because I will get rid of your personal belongings and put them in storage. While I haven't done it yet, how about you do it yourself? Take your things away now!"
"What is wrong with you?" said the person who had just come and opened the Hunter dorm room door.
Hunter immediately jumped. It was Aland's voice, not Miller's. Hunter immediately turned around and was surprised when he saw Aland standing in front of him carrying a large gym bag.
"Aland? Are you back? Why did you come here and carry that bag?" Hunter started to get suspicious and squinted. "Are you going to live here too?"
Aland was still standing in the doorway. He lifted his chin and folded his arms across his chest. "You seem pleased living here? I've never seen you so cheerful."
"No–not like that!" Hunter replied quickly. "I thought you were someone else. Are you better now?"
Aland ignored Hunter's question. He was more interested in paying attention to the standard dorm room that Hunter and Miller were currently occupying. Aland put down his sports bag, which looked heavy, and started walking around the room. He looked around everything that was there.
"What is it?" Hunter followed Aland behind.
When Aland walked to the right, Hunter followed him to the right. When Aland went left, Hunter also went left. Until their feet accidentally touch each other. Aland turned and looked disgusted.
"What are you doing, Hunter?"
Hunter rolled his eyes. "I should be the one asking. What's wrong with you? Come and play straight into people's rooms."
"I heard from Elmar you asked to move to the regular dorm. Do you live here? With Miller Fallon?" Aland held the spiral staircase leading to the top bunk where Miller was supposed to live.
"Yeah, I don't want that to happen either. I've asked Elmar to move the boy. But Elmar insists Miller must stay here. Because Miller had lived here before. Isn't that ridiculous?"
Hunter continued to talk to himself, expressing his complaints as if Miller's presence in the room was a mistake.
Aland, who was curious, started to climb the spiral staircase. Hunter, who realized he was being ignored, suddenly ran after Aland.
"What are you going to do up there?" Hunter pulled Alan's hand. "Don't go up there!"
Aland looked at Hunter, who was holding his hand. "Why? Isn't your bed downstairs?" Aland tilted his head towards Hunter's bed. "I just want to take a look up here."
Hunter quickly let go of his hand and acted awkwardly. He pretended to look fantastic as usual.
"Yeah, no problem, really. But this is a little weird. Why did you suddenly come here and look around Miller's room?"
"I just wanted to confirm something," Aland said.
Hunter immediately felt interested. He also went upstairs. Hunter had seen Aland put something on Miller's study table before turning to leave.
"Are you done looking around?" Hunter gaped when Aland came down again and left him upstairs.
As strange as Aland came and as strange as when he left. Aland suddenly shouldered his bag and left Hunter's room without another word.
“Hey, Aland!” snapped Hunter. "You're leaving already? Can you stay here tonight?"
Aland ignored Hunter's question. He walked casually with his hands tucked in his trouser pockets.
"Uh, damn it!" grunted Hunter as he closed his bedroom door with a bang.
Hunter leaned against the door holding his head that felt like it was about to explode.
"So I really have to be alone again tonight?"
Hunter rubbed his arms, which felt goosebumps. He noticed the standard dorm room was just half the size of his room in the VIP dorm. But still, Hunter felt scared and lonely.
"But," Hunter muttered. "What exactly is Aland looking for here? What does he want to make sure? Could it be… he has the same thoughts as me?"
Because of that curiosity, finally, Hunter quickly climbed the stairs to the top bunk. He stood in front of Miller's bed and looked at every piece of Miller's furniture that was still there.
Two days ago, Hunter accidentally dropped something while rummaging through Miller's bed. He has returned to its original place. Hunter went over to Miller's study table and grabbed it.
"Is this what Aland was looking for? I think he touched this thing. Does Aland also know…"
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY BED?" shouted someone loudly and curtly.
Hunter was shocked half to death. He jumped and dropped the object he was holding.
"Hey, you dropped it on purpose!" he shouted. "You ruined it! What are you doing here, motherfucker? Not satisfied you bother me, huh?"
Hunter was completely confused and mixed with shock. He didn't know when Miller came in. He didn't even hear a sound. Suddenly the sophomore boy was already standing behind him angrily.
"I… really… this was completely unintentional. I didn't mean to do anything to your stuff."
"There is already concrete evidence, and you still want to dodge? Bastard!"
The panicked Hunter began kneeling down to pick up the broken glass from his dropped photo frame. However, Jonea, who was already angry, pushed Hunter and pushed his hand away. Jonea grabbed the fractured photo frame by force until her finger scratched the glass shards.
"Go!" Jonea shouted, looking down.
"But, your hand hurt," said a panicked Hunter.
"I SAID GO!" This time Jonea's voice was louder and angrier.
Hunter was completely shocked and stunned. Never before had anyone dared to yell at and scold him to the point where he felt guilty. Finally, Hunter backed away and left Miller alone, picking up his broken picture frame.
Before descending the spiral staircase, Hunter once again turned his head. He saw Miller's back, which looked still bent while hugging the photo frame.
"It's, isn't it, just a cheap picture frame. I will definitely replace it with a better and more expensive one. Why are you so angry?"
"Go away, you bastard!" screamed Jonea, who was about to explode and could no longer hold back her tears. "You think everything can be bought with money? What if this photo is corrupted? I only have one, and there are no more copies in this world. You… of course, you don't understand what I mean. Go! Go! Go! I don't want to see your face again. I'm sick of you."
Hunter opened his mouth wide, wanting to shout back, but he didn't. He was swinging a fist in the air while tilting his lips slightly. But Hunter also should have done so. He suddenly clasped his fist again with his left palm and let out a rough breath.
Hunter quickly descended the spiral staircase and returned to his bed. He pretended to read a book while eavesdropping on what Miller was doing there. However, Hunter did not hear any movement.
'Is he all right?' thought Hunter. 'Should perhaps I quickly replace the picture frame? Damn! In my whole life, I have never been made to feel guilty like this. Uh, how troublesome.'
Hunter got up from the bed and reached for his wallet. As he was about to leave the room, Hunter Still glanced at the top bunk. He saw Miller was already hiding under his blanket. Then Hunter quickly left the room.
Check.
When she heard the door close and the dorm room quiet, Jonea immediately sat up straight and pulled the blanket off her body. She breathed a sigh of relief.
"Finally, he's gone too. I'm really sick of having to see him often. The picture frame isn't a problem, really, really," Jonea muttered. "After all, I have plenty of change at home. I was just getting annoyed when I returned from Aland's house. Aland really pisses me off. Why did he keep it in his drawer anyway? How important is that thing to him?"
