Chapter 19: Chapter 19

When I said those words, I quickly ran back to where Tyler is sitting since, I got them here the nursery. He had his headphones connected to his ear; I grabbed them off and promptly pulled him to stand up and leave them. He's not uttering a word, so we just went into the front room discreetly.

As I moved my hands from him, I advised him to close the blinds and the entryways as quick as possible.

He's pulling down the blinds when I get to perceive how clear Kendric's face is from here. I was unable to see any feeling from him, however before Tyler could close the blinds, I could see Deniece moving toward her sibling from a far distance.

"You need to talk?" I turned my look at Tyler, who was presently nonchalantly sitting on the sofa.

"Your family will cover all that my dad developed for the previous years that he really buckled down for our organization, right?" I obtusely asked him.

I really want an unmistakable confirmation that the organization will remain on top regardless of the situation.

"That is the arrangement," Tyler said as he put his headphones down in his pocket.

"What's more to it?" I requested more data.

"What's a greater amount of what?" He asked back.

"Is there something else other than that arrangement?"

I'm attempting to reinforce my voice just to watch out for my mental soundness. I'm going to lose trust for myself, however I shouldn't sink like this into the profundities of perpetual agony and final proposal.

"Gee," Tyler says, contacting his lips, faking like he's contemplating something. "All things considered, you can live with me abroad or anything you desire."

I checked out at him in dismay. The manner in which he chuckled after what he said got me so disturbed. He's essentially playing with my brain, and he believes I'm in a temperament to talk sh*t at this moment. How might he try and do that while I'm absolutely serious before him?

What a jerk.

"I'm not kidding around," I said as I folded my arms over my chest. "You could think this is a joke of some sort or another, yet entirely it's not."

His face turned dim, and he brought down his head.

I began to tap my foot to pressure him. God! I actually have guests to oblige, yet I'm right here, dealing with my lifelong companion, who is not the same as the manner in which I knew him previously.

I figured he could help, however he's simply equivalent to what my dad would do about this set-up.

"Do you like him?" he inquired.

My lips separated as he posed that inquiry. I was unable to track down any protected words to let him know that I in all actuality do like Kendric, however I must choose the option to wed him. That is unforgiving.

"Will you be straightforward with me?" He asked once more, much more anxious to look for a response.

Actually, despite the fact that I didn't get to realize what occurred between us, I actually care for this person. Wedding him is the most ideal choice, indeed, however I could destroy his future by confining him in a marriage where, truth be told, he can go for more rather than me.

I moaned as I addressed his inquiry. "I do, I truly do."

He stood up and checked out at me cheerfully. From the get go, I scowled a bit, so he laughed a short time later.

"I like another person; I disdain something like this as well. In any case, I'll do this fair to save her."

The expression all over mellowed as he completed those sentences.

He enjoys another person?

"In any case, for what reason did you do that?" I asked in view of the turmoil that he caused me simply by appearing and calling me honey and the scene he made some time back.

"I did what?" He asked back.

"Your signals," I called attention to.

He strolled towards me, and when he was around a couple inches away from me, he inclined nearer to the side of my head and murmured.

"Leticia. She's a covert operative for our folks. It's simply a show; plus, we'll profit from it subsequently."

As he wrapped up saying that, I saw from my left fringe view that Auntie Leticia was basically attempting to take cover in the background. I raised an eyebrow and contacted Tyler's shoulder.

"Then, at that point, we ought to be extremely cautious," I murmured back.

"Prior to that," he stood up appropriately away from me. "Get your canine first; he's attempting to kill me with those executioner eyes."

I was mistaken briefly, however at that point when I saw that portion of the blinds were not shut, I wheezed a bit. There, I saw Kendric remaining while at the same time checking us out. As I perceived how dull his appearance was, I glanced back at Tyler once more and punched him daintily on the shoulder, to push him.

"I thought you closed it," I complained in frustration.

"I told you I like this kind of show, so go fetch him already," he said as he lowered the volume of his voice.

I felt a sudden release from this uptight set-up when I found out what Tyler really wanted for himself. He wants protection for the woman he loves. But I still don't feel any comfort from what he said.

Aunt Leticia. She's basically the antagonist in our lives. I should have expected it from her. With all the time that I had with her, she's nothing but a woman who is not particular about the word compromised.

As Tyler went out of the room, I instantly walked back to the garden to look for Kendric. He's now standing while cutting pieces of meat that are ready to be served for our late lunch. It's almost 2 p.m., but we're still cooking for lunch.

When Bertha began to put all the utensils that we used back in the house and Deniece told me that she'd be checking the rooms for her to pick, I made my way to Kendric, who was just busy eating the food that he served. He's quiet, even though he looked at me for a second as I sat down beside him.

"Hey," I said, trying to catch his gaze.

He looked at me again and just raised his eyebrows to recognize my presence.

What's going on with him?

"So you like how Bertha cooked the meat?" I asked to catch his attention once again.

He nodded and gave me a quick glance before he ate up again. I bit the inside of my cheeks as I thought about what I was going to do about him.

He's not looking at me, and he clearly doesn't want to start a conversation with me right now. Wait, is he jealous?

Is he jealous about what I told him earlier? Is that what he wanted to tell me with his gestures?

I smirked, thinking that it might be because of some jealousy that he felt a while ago.

"We just talked about something," I assured him.

Seconds later, he looked back at me and asked.

"Is there anything that I need to know by now?" The tone of his voice was so serious that I almost got frightened because of it.

I know for a fact that I still didn't get to tell him what's going on with our family, just to not cause him to damage his own name in the business world. I also didn't tell him directly about the arranged marriage that I have right now. It's just too problematic, but it's unfair to him too.

The look in his eyes softened as he touched my chin in a delicate way.

"There's something going on, right?" He asked again.

I want to tell him, but I just can't.

Before I could speak up, tiny droplets of water began to sprinkle all over the garden, and one moment later, it was really raining. I immediately stood up and ran to the nearest shed in the garden before I could totally ruin my dress. Meanwhile, Kendric just stood up there in the middle of the rain.

"I thought you loved rain!" He spoke; his polo shirts are getting wet already, and all I can see is how it hugged his body. His body built is slowly showing up. It's not too bulky, but it's just right to show his masculine side.

"I most likely want to watch it from the window rather than get soaked in it!" I shouted to let him hear what I said.

"Come here; you'll like it even more."

His words were like an order that I should comply with. I clenched my fist again, trying to contain the fleeting feeling that I have for him.

From this perspective, I realized the difference between us.

I've been locked in a cage ever since I was a kid. My wings were tied up by my own family, and I didn't even realize it because of the overflowing love that they offered me. I have so many things that I have told them, yet all I can hear is their decline about them just to ensure my safety. I was blinded, and I eventually got used to it. That's me just here in the shed, fighting myself to resist and break the cage that my family gave me.

But him? He's free. He's out there living his own life; no one dictated to him to do so.

That's why I shouldn't have let him know about my cage by now. I'll just enjoy every moment that I have with him, whether it's good or bad.

I shook my head in disagreement with what he wanted me to do. Instead, he walked towards me, and as soon as he was already in front of me, his cold expression welcomed my gaze.

"You're so uptight with yourself," he said as he fixed my hair that was blocking the side of my face.

"Are you not scared?" I asked almost in a whisper.

"Scared about what could happen to us?" He asked back. "Why would I be scared?"

Deniece's words suddenly flashed into my head after he said that.

There's no certainty with him for now, so don't fall for him too much.

When he held my hand, I lost it. I closed my eyes and lowered my head to calm myself. I shouldn't have high hopes about this thing. It's just temporary; I'll be married to someone else soon.

But even if it's temporary, I'm willing to take a risk for this once-in-a-lifetime feeling.

I held him back tightly, and I looked directly into his eyes.

"They say that eyes are some kind of windows to our soul," I said while looking at him.

"Then what do you see?" He moved closer as he asked me.

I can see him falling for me, or so I thought. His eyes are rather expressive, but I can't tell whether that's still true or not.

"Tell me," he demanded.

"I saw my reflection," I sarcastically replied, and I chuckled for a bit.

My body stiffened as he let go of my hand and placed it on my waist. I can feel his cold hand slowly caressing the side of my waist, just as I also felt tiny drops of water coming from his wet hair.

"Tell me again," he demanded again. "What do you see?"

My lips parted as I felt his hot breath even closer. I took it as an opportunity to tiptoe, grab his shoulder, and lean closer for a quick kiss. As I moved my face away, I saw a hint of shock on his face.

Kendric looked so amazed at what I did, and he's just like a statue that is looking at me with his eyes full of wonder.

There, I can clearly see it.

The look that I wanted to see from him. The look that came from a sensational moment that could blow our minds.

"I can just clearly see the look of adoration from you," I said as he was still caught off guard.

He smiled afterwards and pulled me closer.

"Look at my eyes again," he told me, and I hastily did what he said right away.

"Now, just look at it, for you will see the look of love I'm willing to offer for you."
