Chapter 20: Chapter 20
The night came, and I'm currently in my bath, partaking in the warm water I requested after I ran back to the house prior. I left Kendric hanging there, saying nothing. He at last followed me inside, as I heard from one of the house keepers that he requested a towel before he went higher up.
I shut my eyes and lowered my exposed body considerably more. I'm holding some espresso to reassure I as I watch the downpour fall through the window. It's beyond 7 p.m., and it's very dim outside. The mind-set was somewhat alarming, yet it's in some way quieting a result of the downpour.
I continued to contemplate what Deniece said and how Kendric communicated his adoration to me some time prior. It's far various, yet who would it be a good idea for me to trust about it?
I murmured as I tasted my espresso. I just can't resist the urge to consider it!
A noisy thump from the restroom entryway got me surprised.
"Mon?" When I heard the epithet she called me, I realized it was Bertha as of now. She's the one in particular who called me like that.
I opened the entryway with the controller; it's the most advantageous thing that Father redesigned for this house before when it was under remodel.
The entryway naturally opened, and I saw her with a truck brimming with food on it.
"What's the unexpected room administration?" I shockingly inquired.
"You've been occupied the entire day," she said while setting up my dinner. "You didn't see how focused you looked some time back."
"I looked pushed?" I asked while contacting my own cheeks.
She gestured while pouring the pumpkin soup onto the chicken filet that she had arranged. I never at any point said thanks to Bertha for continuously searching for me since I arrived. She's dependably steady in reminding me to eat each time I attempt to skirt my dinner time here.
In any case, before I could talk, she asked me first.
"So that is the person you truly like?" She asked as she drank her juice.
I got up and covered myself rapidly with my wraparound to sit on the tub, where Bertha likewise plunked down. She's simply taking a gander at me with her expected look, so I snickered a little about it.
"Come on, tell me," she demanded.
"Indeed, he's been a companion of dig for some time, and afterward I asked him out just before I went back here," I said while cutting some chicken filet.
"Goodness, city young ladies have such a lot of dauntlessness to support that sort of move," she remarked with an entertained look.
"He's cute, more often than not."
I review a portion of the minutes that we had where he acted so cute without investing any energy into what he was doing. He's simply easily lovable in his own particular manner.
"His jokes were cringey, and there are a few words and proclamations that I don't comprehend from him once in a while."
The manner in which he let me know things got me befuddled more often than not. Indeed, even his motions were considerably more befuddling during the beginning of our experiences.
"He's secretive."
We never had a discussion so profound about ourselves. The following thing I believe should do with him is connect for his actual self. I need to know every last bit of detail that I ought to be aware of him.
"His appearance gets hazier effectively when he's sort of desirous."
However, it's valid. He's somewhat possessive, yet he would rather not show it to everybody except if it's with me.
"Goodness, you must've loved him such a lot of as of now," Bertha answered while taking a gander at the glass of juice she was holding.
I grinned a bit, and it made me contemplate something, so I in the end got some information about it.
"I'm certain you felt it with the dad of your kid, right?" I really asked immediately.
The little shock all over was supplanted by a miserable grin subsequently. She's simply playing with the glass that she's holding before she shouts out once more.
"We never had a legitimate relationship after all that occurred between us," Bertha murmured, turning away much more. "He just left us with a note, so I returned here to support my little girl's need."
My lips separated as I heard the story behind Portia's dad. It's miserable to believe that her girl won't ever be aware of her dad, yet I suppose that is far superior to feeling like she's undesirable by her own father.
I held Bertha's hand, and when she took a gander at me, I grinned.
"We should simply eat what you made for me for supper."
"Not me did that thing, Mon." She quickly shook her head and chose a piece of paper that was under the decorative liner.
She gave it out and snickered to ease up the temperament after she responded to the inquiry that I posed.
A piece of paper's collapsed into three. At the point when I opened it, I quickly grinned in the wake of perusing the note inside.
'I figured you could like something to eat; meet me in the nursery at whatever point you're prepared.'
I ought to have sorted out that Kendric may be behind all of this. He's truly something.
"Quit grinning while at the same time concealing inside this restroom, Mon." Bertha fixed her hang on my hand.
The truthfulness she needed to empower me for the love that I merit was excessively great, yet it isn't for me at any rate. Sometime, I'll be confined once more.
Yet, I should go for this opportunity to be free, even only for some time.
"OK, I will."
...
Following quite a while of playing with my crush ball while walking forward and backward, I in the long run called for Deniece to help me.
"I previously advised you to pursue him," Deniece addressed me once more.
"In any case, there are such countless government operatives around this dag nab manor," I said while as yet walking forward and backward.
"Then, at that point, what is it that you need to do?" She asked in an exaggeratedly furious way.
"I really want you to be a chaperone," I expressed, sitting close to her. "I maintain that you should pay special attention to us from a far distance in the event that there's somebody who could come around."
"Goodness, presently we're in the European style of romance, huh?" She mockingly proclaimed it while snickering.
"Do what needs to be done, will you?" I requested a confirmation from her.
She raised an eyebrow and feigned exacerbation a short time later.
"You realize I'll do it at any rate," she said, pushing me out of my room. "Live it up and don't kiss as you did some time prior; it's so obsolete."
My cheeks were at that point becoming red after she shut the entryway behind me. That's what she saw? Such an intrusive young lady, Deniece!
As I strolled down the steps, my strides were excessively light to stay away from any sound that they could cause. I'm almost certain a portion of the house cleaners understand what's going on, however it's still much better on the off chance that I move like this for more secure discipline on the off chance that I get found out.
"What are you doing?" Tyler just appeared suddenly and rested his body up against the entryway of the kitchen.
"I simply need to have some natural air outside," I lied.
"Entertaining," he laughed as he strolled towards me. At the point when he was going to step higher up, he tapped my shoulder two times and grinned.
"That is everything he likewise said to me about an hour prior."
I made a little heave and checked him out.
"Where is he?" I asked right away.
"He's sitting tight for you outside, I presume."
That's what after he said, I immediately strolled towards the secondary passage, where nobody could see me. The entryway close to Reagan's room will lead me effectively to the nursery.
It's great that it's as of now ten PM and everybody's practically snoozing. It additionally quit pouring like an hour prior, so I could move away a lot more straightforward.
When I got out of the house, the garden was a little dark, but there were still some lights on. I looked around to find Kendric, and Tyler was right. He's here.
He's playing with something on his feet while his hands are in his jogging pants. He's wearing a simple white shirt, and his hair is messy, like he just finished taking a shower.
I walked towards him, and since he wasn't looking in my direction, I suddenly grabbed his arm to surprise him a little. He flinched a little and looked in my direction; his face looked so serious and shocked at the same time.
"God, I thought you were your Aunt Leticia," he sighed afterwards.
"Did she ask some weird questions a while ago while I wasn't around?" I curiously asked.
"Yeah, she asked me about my relationship with you."
My body stiffened with his answer. That witch!
"What did you tell me then?" I asked again.
He pouted for a while and placed his pointing finger on his head, mimicking the way he's thinking about something. I laughed at his face.
"Well, I told her that I'm a very good friend of yours," he said, holding my hand upon saying that.
I bit my lips and looked at the moon instead. Well, there's nothing wrong with what he said. I just thought that he might go crazy and be brave enough to tell that witch what the real status between us is.
Somehow I think about it: what's the real score between us anyway?
"You like the moon too?" He asked; maybe he noticed my sudden shift of gaze.
"I like everything about what's up there," I answered.
It's true; I like everything that appears in the sky. It all made me feel so free even before I was a kid, and ever since I was nine, I tried to study everything about it. Maybe it's my childhood dream to know what's up there in those clouds.
"Someday, I'll give you the stars," he said, which made me look at him.
My eyes suddenly began to get blurry. I tightened my hold on his hand.
This is what scares me the most: that I'll realize I'm a monster for putting this guy in a position that I shouldn't have put him in. I've been so selfish just to keep him around, but what can I do about it?
He's kind and caring. I know I still have a lot to learn about him, but we'll get there. This moment that I have with him will be my safe place. A safe place in which I know I'm free enough to be who I am.
"You'll give me the stars," I tried to say that in my usual voice. "What should I give you then in return?"
I lowered my head for a moment to secretly wipe away the tear I had shed.
"Just you, then," he answered right away. "Just you, and everything's all right then."
I looked at him, and he was already looking at me. With his serious face, I know he realized what I did.
"Why me?" I asked with a trembling voice.
"Do you want me to give you a reason?" He asked back.
I nodded as quickly as I could.
"Because you're you," he softly sighed after saying that.
I chuckled when I heard his reason. It's too flattering to hear those words from him. It's like we're a couple putting out the best pick-up lines that we could use to catch each other's attention.
Seconds later, as the wind blew, it gave me the chills, and I rubbed my hands on my arms to relieve the cold air. What a petty thing for me to wear a sleeveless top in this windy place.
When Kendric noticed what I did, he pulled me close to him and guided me to his front. I was confused for a second, but then, when his arm wrapped around my shoulders and the other was holding my hand, I lost it again.
I can also feel him leveling his face near mine. I clenched my free hand to keep my poise.
"There's just no proper reason to say how much I like to spend my time with you."
I gasped as I could feel him planting a soft kiss on my shoulder before he rested his head on it.
By looking at the stars above us and the moment I have with him right now, that's when I realized what I have for him.
I admit it.
I love him.
