Chapter 18: Chapter 18
Kendric and Tyler are as yet taking a gander at one another, in any event, when I advised him to plunk down for a delayed lunch. From their gazes, I sense a colossal abhorrence among them.
I'm attempting to get up a fire going on a barbecue where I should cook these colossal cuts of meat that I proposed to make just to stay away from any communication from those two people.
I would rather not set myself in a place that would presumably make me so off-kilter towards them; I should simply stay away from them for once.
"Young lady, you ought to be excited." Deniece grabbed my eye.
"How might I be excited?" I was practically furious about the circumstance. "They're cracking putting out a show where the fantastic award is me."
"Indeed, you would make a delightful prize assuming that occurred," Deniece remarked as though she wasn't hearing my protest.
"You're a poop hole as well, that's what you know?" I brought up it while jabbing those little coals under the griller.
Deniece recently chuckled and assisted me with cooking the hamburger meat that we'll have for lunch.
Bertha just jumped all of a sudden and went along with us to show me how to accurately cook the meat. She's significantly more stimulated today since she has her child in a buggy next to the table where we put the uncooked food. Her child's name is Portia; she's just 10 months old.
My consideration got grabbed by Bertha's child, so I just sat with her and jabbed her cheeks as she attempted to get my finger. I'm somewhat fixated on her when somebody sits close to me.
It's Kendric.
"You left me gazing at that revolting person," he griped.
"He's not revolting; you simply could do without him," I said truly.
"So you think that he is attractive?" Kendric's voice unexpectedly got charming and delicate.
I snickered at it while as yet jabbing Portia's adorable little cheeks.
"You didn't address my inquiry," Kendric jabbed my shoulder to stand out enough to be noticed.
At the point when I took a gander at him, I raised my eyebrow as I saw him sulking a bit. He's simply so lovable!
All that he does is simply so lovable. Essentially nothing remains to be griped about. How might he be so ideally suited for a person?
"I think that he is caring," I expressed, attempting to set the subject to the side.
"That is not the response I need to hear from you," he grumbled significantly more.
"Then what is it that you need?"
Kendric became quiet about my inquiry. He chomped his lips while checking my lips out. As he did that, I unexpectedly recollected what we did in their van.
That kiss.
I held my clench hand to contain any sort of spilling over feeling that could burst out of the blue. In the mean time, Kendric simply continues to view at my lips as though they were his prey.
"I believe you should let me know that he's appalling," he said, frowning.
I took a full breath and turned my consideration back to Portia. She's a charming child, great for certainly standing out away from him and from his fragile lips.
I attempted to jab out Portia's cheeks, and this man close to me just began to jab my shoulder as well. God! I'm attempting to stay away from any sort of skin-to-skin contact with him, yet my spaghetti-tie flower dress was not the right fit today.
Deniece got her throat in front free from us, and as I took a gander at her, she motioned her head toward Tyler. All at once, I could plainly perceive how Tyler's eyes were checking us out. He out of nowhere moved his look, grinned, and waved at me before he took out his telephone from his pocket.
I track down this present circumstance sort of hazardous. There will be a ton of chances that Tyler could attempt to let everything know that he saw to my dad. Without a doubt, Father won't consent to this, particularly since he didn't have the foggiest idea about any insights regarding Kendric.
Kendric was all the while jabbing my shoulders, so I took a gander at him and murmured.
"I could do without him."
His face illuminated, and he grinned. He stood up and let me know that he'd get a portion of his stuff from the van. At the point when I saw him leaving me, I quickly stood out, who was simply sitting across the table before me.
"Indeed?" Deniece inquired.
"Could you at any point enlighten me seriously regarding Kendric?" I asked back.
There's such an excess of data that I have hardly any familiarity with him. I truly like him. In any case, I actually need to know his experience, which he's not been telling me since we began talking.
"All things considered, he's now 24. Three years more seasoned than us. He had his own business when he was twenty, along with his dearest companions. They claimed a journey boat, and he's essentially a multi-tycoon fellow."
I'm simply taking a gander at her, so she chose to continue to discuss him.
"Our dad possessed bunches of aircrafts around the US. Indeed, it began with a voyage line, and afterward subsequently, they ultimately developed the carriers that they have now. His mother is a caring housewife; she was once a director at father's most memorable voyage transport."
Deniece quit talking for some time.
"You truly need to know him, huh?" She has understood that at this point.
"Obviously I do," I immediately answered.
"Alright, quiet down." She expressed this as she laughed.
"All things considered, he let me know he's frugal, and he set aside the entirety of his stipend cash when he was in school just to purchase their very first voyage transport along with his dearest companions. From that point forward, he sought after his profession as a cook and fabricated eateries around Asia that offer different blended foods. He additionally made up certain dishes from his menu without anyone else."
I grinned as I heard how dedicated he is. I never met that sort of man. More often than not, I just met folks around my age who were still in school and just upheld by their families. I have no bias about it, however I just observed Kendric to be a special sort of man.
He's a shrewd, insightful, and objective situated individual. Qualities that I don't ordinarily track down in men his age. He's very surprising from the others. He's unique.
"Quit grinning, young lady!" Deniece snapped her fingers a couple inches away from my face. "You are so whipped!"
"Your relative is stand-out," I promptly answered.
"Monitor your heart for the present, OK?" Deniece's tone became serious.
"How could I do that?" I asked obviously.
"Kendric is fantastic, I know," she moaned before she talked once more. "However, he actually doesn't have the foggiest idea what he will do next after this."
I'm somewhat confounded regarding everything Deniece is attempting to say to me. She's taking a gander at my back, and when I thought back toward the path she's looking, I could see Kendric, who's now strolling towards us.
"There's no conviction with him for the present, so don't succumb to him to an extreme," Deniece murmured, holding my hand to inspire me to check her out.
Her words resemble an admonition. I ought to trust it. She won't ever say it except if it's vital.
I gestured and grinned at her.
Monitor my heart. There is no sureness yet.
At the point when Kendric got back, he had a tremendous dark gym bag on his shoulder. He additionally got his eyeglasses, perhaps for against radiation. As he sat alongside me once more, he held my free hand and put it on his cheek as he laid his head on the table.
"Poke it too, like what you did with that baby," he requested.
I smiled and did it instantly. As I poked his cheeks, he smiled and showed how satisfied he is, as I did it on his face. The way he moved with me today was different from what Deniece told me. I know I shouldn't doubt my best friend about what she said, but there's a part of me that still wants to break a little of the wall that I created for myself.
It's not much needed, but I feel like I can trust him for now.
He's worth it after all. And maybe he deserves it too.
I stopped thinking about it when he held my hand again to stop me from poking his cheeks, and I just let my hand hold his face for a while.
"This feels great," he commented, smiling as he closed his eyes.
"I felt great with you," I said, speaking for myself.
His smile widens, and when he opens his eyes again, he kisses the side of my palm that is almost closed to his lips.
I smiled at what he did, but that was interrupted when I heard Aunt Leticia clear her throat. I took a glance at her and focused on Portia again this time. I removed my hand from Kendric's face and started poking Portia's cheeks again.
"I see you have some visitors," Aunt Leticia said, and I can sense that she's looking at someone who's beside me.
"It's our house, anyway," I said, shifting my gaze to her. "I can do anything I want."
Aunt Leticia's face was flustered after she heard what I just told her. It's true, though. Before she goes ordering around, she better have the authority to do so. It's my house, and it's my rules, duh.
"Can I talk to you for a second, miss?" Aunt Leticia gets my patience on edge every time.
As she walked away from the small crowd, I followed her immediately. When she reached the balcony view on the right side of the garden, she spoke again.
"You should be preparing for your wedding, not flirting around in front of your fiancé."
So this is what she wants to talk about.
"I didn't agree with anything about it in the first place, so why bother me about it?" I sarcastically asked.
When she looked at me, the look on her face made it clear that she was so mad about what I said.
"He's our only hope, Monique."
I parted my lips as I realized what she just said. She also knew what was happening in our companies, which is why she's so eager to push me to marry Tyler.
"There's no other way that can help us get through it."
I sighed as I heard her say those words. Right now, the amount of pressure that she gave me is slowly squeezing my whole being into someone I know I'll hate for the rest of my life.
I shouldn't have to do this.
"What do you want me to do then?" I asked while trying to stop myself from attacking my own thoughts. The thoughts that I should just embrace Kendric and tell him to just save me from all of this.
But I couldn't have the face to drag him into this kind of thing.
"Just approach him, young lady." Aunt Leticia said as she started to stroke strands of my hair.
"Can I interrupt for a minute?" Kendric's voice saved me from my own grave when he walked towards us.
"Of course, you can." Aunt Leticia had already walked out and left me there with Kendric, but as I looked at her back, she looked back and gave me a little smile that just told me to do what I had to do.
"You look so bothered from afar, so I came right away to rescue you if you needed it."
Yes, Kendric. I need you to rescue me from this misery. How I wish I could say it freely, but the voice of Aunt Leticia keeps bugging me inside my head.
"I'm a little tired," I said as an excuse.
"You want to rest?" He instantly asked.
"When are you leaving again?" I bluntly asked as I fought myself from falling too hard for this man.
"You want me to leave right away?" He asked back.
I lowered my head and closed my eyes. I need to think, but there's nothing to think about.
"Hey, are you okay?" Kendric asked again while he tried to touch my arm.
I moved away from him and said the most horrible thing that I could say in front of him.
"I need Tyler."
