Chapter 9: Chapter 9

Chapter 9 Hitchhiking

Bella answered quickly, "Of course not. In fact, I've married again."

The interviewer looked at her: "In that case, why don't you continue to be a housewife at home? The basic requirement of Skytel for every employee is that he/she must have a clear career plan."

The interviewer's words were too direct, and Bella was a little flustered.

She reminded herself to keep her head clear, and now she had to find a way to show her that she was a person with a plan and vision.

Bella sorted out her thoughts before starting to answer the second question: "I don't quite agree with the term 'returning to work'. I think housewife is also a very important and great job. As everyone knows, the foundation of society is the stability of each family. For the past 5 years, I have been immersed in the work of maintaining family stability."

The interviewer was indifferent.

Bella knew that she didn't really convince her.

She continued: "And the reason why I walked out of the family, on the one hand, to get paid to give me and my family more stable support, and on the other hand, I have the ambition and ability to explore more possibilities for my life."

The interviewer nodded: "Got it."

Then she made a note on the resume.

Bella suddenly thought of Edward.

She blinked and copied Edward's words: "A firm determination will inevitably produce strong action, and I will never be defected by others in this regard."

The interview lasted for more than half an hour, and when she came out of the conference room, Bella realized that she was sweating.

Even though she did her best, she still did not answer some of the questions well, which meant that the possibility of her being hired was very low.

Bella raised her arms to cheer herself up and to keep herself from getting discouraged.

There were still two more interviews to attend tomorrow, and she planned to go back and sort out the experience of this interview.

Bella took the elevator to the lobby on the first floor and met Jack, the man with glasses who talked with her while waiting for the interview earlier.

Jack was chatting with his friend, facing in the direction of the elevator.

When Bella got out of the elevator, the two saw each other almost at the same time.

Jack patted his friend on the shoulder, the two hugged and parted.

He greeted Bella: "Hey, how are you feeling?"

Bella walked towards him: "Ok. I thought you were out of here."

Jack's number was 29, and he completed the interview before Bella.

Jack looked back at where he was standing: "I chatted with my friends for a while."

The two exchanged interview information and chatted for a while.

Knowing the name of the block where Bella was located, both leaving the Skytel building and going home, Jack was pleasantly surprised that he wanted to go to that block too, and Bella could ride in his car.

Jack was very enthusiastic, and Bella also wanted to ask him some more questions, so she agreed.

Skytel was very close to Bella's house, and it didn't take long to reach the destination.

As the two said goodbye, Bella watched Jack's car drive away, then turned back into the house.

"I'm back." Bella saw Edward looking out the window.

She put down her bag, poured herself a glass of water, and asked Edward, "Would you like a glass?"

Edward left the window: "I'll do it myself."

The two had been living together for a while, and Bella knew some of Edward's living habits, so she didn't insist.

She sat down in the chair closest to her.

Edward came to the table, picked up the kettle, and poured half a glass of water.

His palms were large, and the knuckles were beautifully shaped, like the handicrafts on display.

Bella glanced at the hands and watched Edward pick up the glass to drink water. The water he drank passed through his throat, and his Adam's apple rolled up and down, which was extremely sexy.

She felt her face get hot.

Bella blamed herself for being lecherous secretly.

"You didn't come back in a taxi," Edward said suddenly.

Bella looked at Edward's side face and didn't react immediately.

After waiting for a few seconds, she seemed to wake up from a dream: "Yes, that car is my friend's. He happened to be coming to this block too, so he dropped me off on the way."

Edward turned to look at her: "A male friend?"

Bella nodded: "Yes, I met him during the interview. His name is Jack, and I asked him a lot of questions."

She happily showed Edward how awesome her new friend was, like a little girl showing off a new toy to her friends.

Edward ignored Bella's compliment to Jack and asked her, "Can you drive?"

Bella didn't expect him to suddenly ask the question: "I can."

When she was with David, there were two cars in the family, one of which she drove when she was out shopping, and now that car belonged to Lanny.

She lived with Edward, and it was necessary to buy a car, but only until there was enough money in the account.

Bella decided to add the car purchase to her plan at night.

Edward put the glass on the table, and didn't say anything more about the car: "How about Skytel? Is there anything you are not satisfied with?"

Bella raised her eyebrows.

It sounded like Edward was introducing something of his own.

This might be a habit from the past.

Bella resisted the urge to tease him, and responded cooperatively: "Skytel is very good, and I couldn't be more satisfied in all aspects. Whether it is hardware facilities or staffing, they are all excellent."

She suddenly thought of the president whose legs was all she has seen.

If the president could be more normal, Skytel could get full marks.

Edward said: "I'm not the interviewer, you don't have to say these things on purpose."

Bella smiled: "If you are the interviewer, I will have a chance of being hired."

Sadly, he was not.

Edward said with a serious expression: "I'm very strict. I can't be moved by a few compliments."

Bella remembered that Jack had also used the word "strict" to describe the president of Skytel.

I didn't know who was more strict, he or Edward.

So she deliberately looked into Edward's eyes, curled her lips and said with a smile, "Then you can be the president of Skytel. I will be the president's wife."

Then Bella saw the expression changed on Edward's face.

He stepped back a little, looking at her indifferently.

Bella realized that she might had hurt Edward's self-esteem: "I'm sorry. It was just a joke. Please don't mind. I don't want to be the president's wife."

She watched Edward's expression nervously, blaming herself for saying something inappropriate.

Perhaps her apology was sincere, so Edward's expression softened.

He said calmly: "There is nothing wrong with that kind of thought. It is the nature of every werewolf to choose a good mate."

Bella thought he was still caring, and said, "I promise I don't have that."

Edward's look at her became complicated.

In the evening, the results of the interview were announced.
