Chapter 10: Chapter 10

Chapter 10 Unexpected Benefits

Jack was successfully hired.

To Bella's surprise, she was also hired.

She deliberately found the original recruitment news and confirmed that she remembered correctly, and it was indeed marked that only one person would be recruited.

As for the reason why two people were finally recruited, the relevant staff in charge explained to Bella by phone.

It turned out that the personnel department received an instruction from the superior and were asked to add another person on the original basis, as the life assistant of the president, responsible for the assistant work outside the company's business.

Bella was lucky enough to get this extra spot.

Looking at the offer she received in the mailbox, Bella felt like she was living in a dream.

She thought of the wish she made before the interview.

She said at that time that as long as she could get the job, she would endure the peculiar character of the picky president.

It appeared that God did hear her.

Bella was suddenly a little worried and really hoped that the president won't be so difficult to get along with. After all, the life assistant would worked directly for him.

With excitement and anxiety, Bella spent a sleepless night.

On her first day at work, Bella was assigned to a separate office.

The area of the office was not large, but there was a whole wall of glass. Through this glass, you could see the busy streets in the center of the city. The cars on the streets were running like small ants.

Bella had a beautiful cherry wooden desk with spiritual green plants on the table and floor, which gave the office a fresh smell.

"Sign here." Jenny handed the form to Bella.

Jenny worked in the personnel department, managing the staff's office supplies.

She was tall, with a small mole on her left eyebrow.

Bella pulled the pen from the pen holder and signed where Jenny had pointed.

After signing her name, she put the pen back into the pen holder and asked Jenny, "Don't the president's assistants work together?"

Not only were she and Jack not in the same office, but also they were not even close to each other.

Bella felt confused.

Jenny looked at the signed form: "That's right. This office is dedicated to the life assistant, and the other president's assistant does not have the right to use this office."

Bella didn't understand why it was arranged this way, but nodded anyway.

Seeming to see Bella's confusing look, Jenny explained: "The work handled by the life assistant involves a lot of the president's private information, and it is necessary to configure a dedicated office."

Bella asked, "Does the president take privacy seriously?"

Jenny's expression became serious, and she leaned closer: "You have to remember one thing: it is forbidden to talk about the personal privacy of the president with other people, whether it's outside or inside the company. The consequences of violating this prohibition are serious, someone was sued by the Legal Department for selling out the president's residence information and lost a lot of money."

Skytel's legal department had gathered the best lawyers, and there was no record of failure since its establishment.

Bella fully understood the severity of the consequences.

She did not pursue the question further.

It was like the door in the mystery house in a horror movie that must never be opened, symbolizing fear and danger.

In her heart, the president had become an ugly monster with huge horns and bat wings.

However, even as a monster, she had to do her job as a life assistant.

Bella asked Jenny, "Am I going to see him in the president's office next?"

Jenny immediately said, "You won't be able to see the president for the time being, but I have your work arrangement for today."

Bella felt relieved.

It was great to be able to avoid seeing that horrible president for a while.

She looked at Jenny: "Please tell me what I am working on today."

Jenny thought for a while: "Just to make sure, do you have a driver's license?"

Bella replied, "I have a driver's license and I'm pretty good at driving."

Did a life assistant's job include driving?

Jenny clapped her hands: "Wonderful. I can directly match you with a car, and I don't need to arrange another driving training course for you."

She put a car key on the table: "Take it, it's yours."

Bella didn't get the key first, but asked, "Am I responsible for driving for the president?"

She should have said that she couldn't drive, after all, this was a job with high risks and many crisis situations.

Jenny laughed: "Of course not. You were not a professional driver, and you couldn't meet the requirements of driving for the president."

Bella realized that her driving skills were despised.

On the one hand, she was happy, on the other hand, she felt upset.

"Life assistants will be arranged to go out at any time, and most of the affairs they handle have strict time constraints, so the company needs to arrange a car for you to improve work efficiency. You can also drive this car to go home for commute, not only for work. As long as you are still in this position, you can use it to the fullest." Jenny said with a smile.

Bella didn't expect a life assistant to have such perks.

This meant that she could drive a B-brand car for free. She could enjoy the convenience of owning a car before buying one, and even if she bought a car herself, she might not be able to afford a B-brand car.

She really loved this job.

Bella secretly made up her mind that she would stay in this post firmly and permanently.

After getting off work, Bella drove home in her assigned car, listening to music.

A car was parked on the boulevard outside the garden.

In a short distance, Bella recognized who the car belonged.

The relaxed mood was replaced by a worried mood.

Bella parked the car in the unused garage, locked the car, and went to the front door.

The door was open, and Bella saw Edward in the living room through the gap.

He was wearing a loose and soft top, facing the door. The sunlight outside the window fell behind him as if the light was chasing him.

On the sofa opposite Edward, Mr. White and Mrs. White were sitting together, both of their faces showing their masters' anger.

Bella complained in her heart that Edward didn't notify her in advance, even if just sending a text message, it wouldn't make her feel unprepared.

She pushed the door and walked into the living room: "Mom and Dad, you are here."

Mrs. White saw her come in and turned away from her.

Mr. White said coldly: "You look reluctant. Are you not welcoming us?"

Bella straightened her neck.

She foresaw that a terrible quarrel would break out here.

"Of course not. Of course, I expect you to come here more often," Bella said anxiously.

Mrs. White sneered: "You moved out without telling us anything, and if your dad didn't have a friend who is a private detective, we would never know where the daughter we raised lives?"
