Chapter 4: Chapter 4
Chapter 4 Attending the Wedding
The wedding party was held in the most luxurious hotel in the city.
The crystal lamp was shining brightly. In the hall, ladies and gentlemen in expensive clothes were talking and laughing with champagne in their hands. The strictly trained waiters served them in an orderly manner.
Bella was wearing Lanny's dress which was old at a glance. Her slender shins were revealed. Half of her long light brown hair was twisted, and the other half hung down loosely. Several strands of curled hair fell on her delicate collarbone. She was like a lily blooming quietly in the bustling city.
"Miss, would you like to dance with me?" A short, middle-aged man approached Bella.
Bella stepped back.
What was wrong with this man? He stood so close to her.
"Thank you, but no." Bella politely refused.
But the man was not so easy to deal with. He looked at Bella up and down, "Dance with me, and I'll buy you a decent dress. If you please me, I don't mind buying you some jewelry."
Bella put on a cold face.
She knew the man regarded her as a vain creature who would sleep with men for beautiful clothes and jewelry.
"I'm allergic to new clothes and jewelry. You get away!"
Bella's blunt words made the man angry. He pointed to Bella's face, "Bitch, you won't want to know the consequence of offending me."
Bella was not scared and glared at him.
A chuckle broke the tense atmosphere between them.
Bella looked sideways.
Not far away, Edward sat in a wheelchair and looked at Bella quietly.
"What hell are you?!" The man was irritated. He surreptitiously stood on his tiptoes to appear taller. This cripple looked taller than him even in the wheelchair, which made him very inferior.
Edward ignored him and asked Bella, "Are you playing an offending game?"
"Huh?" Bella was puzzled.
Did Edward know what he was talking about?
Was there such a game in the world?
"You damn cripple! Get out of here." The man waved his fist.
Bella rubbed her ears.
This man certainly didn't know how unpleasant his voice was. He spoke so loudly.
Although Edward was asked to get out, he smiled and got closer to them.
"Are you not only disabled but also deaf?" The man shouted abuse.
"My dear wife." Edward took Bella's hand and put a glass of wine in her hand, "Your poor game level really bothers me."
Then he took Bella's hand and poured the wine on the man's face.
Under the shocked eyes of Bella and the man, he picked up a tissue and elegantly wiped the wine splashed on his hands.
After a few seconds, the man finally realized what had happened.
Bella almost screamed when the man grabbed Edward's clothes and was ready to throw him and the wheelchair out.
Fortunately, the man's subordinate came and grabbed him at the critical moment.
His subordinate whispered a few words in his ear. Then he ran out with an anxious face. He even fell while running.
Bella's face was deathly pale, but Edward, who was in danger just now, kept a faint smile all the time.
"Aren't you afraid?" Bella patted herself gently on the chest.
Edward leaned back in his wheelchair, "It's just a game. Why should I be afraid?"
Bella rolled her eyes, "Stop kidding. You know it's not a game. If that man shifts, we're no match for him."
She didn't have a wolf, and Edward lost his wolf in the accident that disabled him. They couldn't defeat the man.
Edward must know this.
However, he was willing to help her.
Bella was very grateful, "Thank you for helping me."
"Not a big deal." Edward turned his wheelchair.
"Wait for me." Bella caught up with him.
In the middle of the hall, Lanny was wearing an expensive dress. The diamond earrings were so big that Bella thought her ears would fall off at any time.
David put his arms around her waist, and they enjoyed everyone's attention at ease.
"Lanny is undoubtedly the most perfect woman. She completes me." David looked at Lanny and confessed to her affectionately. Bella felt like she was watching a hypocritical actor recite his lines.
Lanny stood beside David and cried. Her delicate makeup was not ruined by tears because no tears actually flew down from her eyes.
David finally finished reciting the long lines and put the microphone in Lanny's hand.
"Thank you for attending our wedding party and giving us so many blessings. Today, I hope you can also bless another newlywed, my sister Bella and her husband, Edward."
Two bright lights shone above Bella and Edward.
"My dear sister, please come to us with Edward."
